She told me I needed a referral to be seen, even though my insurance does not require one. When I attempted to explain, she cut me off, saying "no, you need a referral," and added that she "wasn't risking her job." The situation escalated quickly, with both staff members raising their voices, insisting I was wrong. Despite showing her on my insurance app that no referral was needed, she insisted that I call to get one. I called my insurance company, and after a brief wait, had a representative confirm that no referral was required. When I returned to the front desk, the staff member spoke rudely to both me and the insurance representative, even showing frustration when she couldn't understand the representative's accent. After the call, I was allowed to check in, but the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational. Another review from two weeks ago mentions a similar experience, indicating this is a recurring issue. I had no issues with the back-office staff, including Trieveonna, Erin, and Shelinda, who were helpful. Erin seemed skeptical about my partner's stitches, but after I called him to give his side without a heads up, he said exactly what I said. Despite the helpfulness of the medical staff in back, the front desk treatment was unprofessional and stressful. The interaction left me shaken, and it's hard to see myself returning after this experience.
