I have disliked the dentist my entire life and would often put off procedures just to avoid having to go until I found Reflections Dental. The entire staff is amazing, kind, and gentle. Walking me through procedures, explaining what's happening during a procedure, giving encouragement, and reassurance. Dr. Buchanan is by far the best dentist I have ever experienced and has put me at ease about procedures that previous dentists tended to cause more anxiety about. He's been upfront about the best course of action as well as providing me with potential drawbacks without any type of pressure either way. I would highly recommend Reflections Dental to anyone, but especially those who may have similar experiences of anxiety when it comes to visiting the dentist. read more

NEVER GO HERE UNTIL MARY IS GONE! After my initial visit, a plan was set up to fill cavities in all four quads of my mouth. A detailed printout was handed to me by front desk, Mary, but there were two total figures for each future visit outlined. I asked Mary what each of these figures meant and her answer was "I can never tell when she does these." My first visit went really well, they took care of two visits in one, were really friendly, and did a beautiful job. When the bill came it was in-line with what I was expecting. I paid around $400 and had a premium plan insurance. At my next visit, I showed up 5 min early then waited 2 hours because the hygienist locked her keys in her car. No big deal. The work was finished and Dr. Scantlebury was great once again. This time they wanted me to pay $900. I couldn't believe it. I asked Mary to verify my coverage and she said she would call my insurance and never did. I called repeatedly for the next 3 months as I was certain white fillings were covered for non-posterior teeth and Mary continued to lie and say she was waiting for either her Accounting person to handle it or the insurance company to call back. It turns out the insurance company had investigated immediately after the my inquiry following the 2nd visit and had determined that my white fillings were covered. Mary obviously had not looked into it as she had been saying all along. The insurance company had paid Reflections for the billing error in June but Reflections did not pay me back until October! My $900 sat in Reflections bank account building interest instead of my own. The worst part of this is the planned timeline of my dental work fell into the last 3 months of my job. So because of Mary my dental work was not completed before my coverage expired. I called the other day to have records transfered (almost 1 yr later) and Mary somehow still works there. She is totally incompetent and does not care about the patient. Please only go here if you are completely aware of all the details of your coverage so that you can protect yourself. This place is awful! I went here because it was in my insurance plan at the time and close to where I was living - big mistake. I went in for a cleaning and it was CRAP! Normally my previous dentists scrap around all the teeth to get the gunk off and hello - I live in Seattle, I have some slight staining from coffee (nothing crazy) but none of that was removed at all! I know I'm not out of line thinking it should have been because I went to a different dentist for my next cleaning and actually left with clean teeth - all stains removed.The hygenist and she was pissy as hell. I had to ask for fluoride and then she argued with me about it not being covered by insurance (I knew it was since I checked before I came). Then when an actual dentist came by, he was telling me how awful my teeth were and that I had 4 cavities and started pressuring me to make an appointment right away to get them filled. Yeah - I don't think so I brush and floss on the reg. I went to a different dentist and yes, I had 2 small cavities but he said he had no idea why anyone would tell me I had 4 as there was no evidence as such. Also, their prices are atrocious! Thanks to my insurance, I didn't end up paying a lot, but I saw the total bill and it was just ridiculous. Avoid this place if you're interested in keeping your teeth for a long time and/or don't want to get ripped off. read more

I have been impressed with Reflections Dental. The front desk staff especially Sofia and Mary are always kind and professional. The dentists are really good and helps to put you at ease and have done a good job for my family. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because a male dentist hygentist is not the best in social settings. He tends to talk a bit to much and kept asking open ended questions when my mouth was full of utensils. Makes things a little awkward. I overheard him speak to someone about his political beliefs and think those type of topics should not be discussed especially when you don't what the other person believes. Otherwise, clean and great place to get care for your dental needs. read more

We are relatively new patients at this office but had such nice experiences with Dr. Jones that we took our 13 month old for her first check-up. The hygienist was wonderful with our baby, taking her time to make her comfortable and explore the toothbrush before looking in her mouth. The pediatric dentist was great too, patient and informative. Unfortunately she was planning to move to another state this spring, I hope their next pediatric dentist is just as wonderful. I've been pleased with care that my family has received here for many years now. Between the four of us there have been many cleanings, several fillings, a couple crowns and some gum surgery. The staff is courteous and professional and I appreciate the accurate insurance estimates. Access to free parking helps as well. read more

Overall the office is clean and well maintained, the staff are polite and attentive. I read some other reviews about how there were long waits and the front desk staff were inattentive, but I did not experience this at all. My whole family goes here and sees Dr. Buchanan and we like the convenient parking, tidy office, toys in the front for the 15 month old, etc. Dr. Buchanan is a friendly and competent dentist. So far I've had an intake consult with Dr. Buchanan, a laser tooth whitening, a consult with the endodontist (Dr. Kuo) and a regular tooth cleaning. I was happy with all encounters. I have a complex history with a front tooth that had a root canal 20 years ago and has had a crown that had to be replaced once (it has been 6 years now). It was recommended that I have the 20 year old root canal redone based on an xray with a filling void in the root sealer material, even though it has not had symptoms and is 20 years old. I went ahead and scheduled this, but then cancelled in the chair (ie the last minute) because a little nagging voice was telling me to get a second opinion before messing with something that has been asymptomatic for years, or at least to look at some older xrays and compare. The endodontist (Dr. Kuo) and dental assistant were very polite and, in fact, affirmed that this was my right, even though I wasted a 2 hour slot by cancelling. Dr. Kuo made sure I was not charged the broken appointment fee. However I was a little put off when the woman who handles the insurance side said I would have to "pay out of pocket" if anything went wrong with that tooth since I was "declining treatment." I know this is not true given the non-urgent nature of the procedure and the fact that I am not "refusing" but just getting more information. However, I also know that the way things are documented may affect the ability to have a needed procedure covered. I did not appreciate what felt like a veiled threat as a retaliation for wasting an appointment slot. I already felt bad enough for cancelling in the chair. The bottom line is that invasive procedures have complications which may lead to more procedures, more time off work and often more fees and this is my front tooth we are talking about! Overall I am pleased with my care and really appreciated Dr. Kuo's flexibility when I bailed on the procedure. I will probably go back to Dr. Kuo to get the recommended work done once I've done my due diligence and clarified the need and urgency for it. read more
