I had a temporary cap fall off and I want to commend Alicia at Reflections Dental for coming to my rescue even though I called off-hours on a Friday. She deserves 10 stars! She was so kind and nice about it. It took only a few minutes and I really appreciated that she wasn't annoyed but so careful, thorough and caring. The receptionist tried hard to talk me into staying in pain over the weekend by telling me to use sugarless gum to put the cap back on myself (!) and to take Ibuprofen. She said that no one was in the office, which actually wasn't true since they had just closed and there were many people there albeit trying to get home for the weekend. I explained to her that I couldn't get it back on and I was in a lot of pain so she asked if someone would see me and Alicia agreed. It would have been a miserable weekend for me. I am a longtime (years) patient of record and this is the first time I have asked for anything like this. I usually have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but even with the cap off for a few minutes, I felt like I'd been punched in the face! I had a lot going on over the weekend and I can't imagine what it would have been like if Alicia hadn't agreed to see me before she went home. What an angel! I can't thank her enough. By the way, I have NEVER experienced a long delay in being seen for a regular appointment. Reflections is very good at getting you in within just a few minutes of your arrival. I am surprised by the recent negative review about this and just want to say that as a long time patient, that is not the way they operate. And -- Dr. Buchanan is truly the best there is. read more

I was long overdue for a visit to the dentist and nervous about what I would need to do to get back on track. Dr. Buchanan was great in explaining what he saw in my x-rays and the next steps to fix what was going on with my teeth. The front desk worked with me to get two followup appointments setup quickly for deep cleanings. I saw Dr. Jones for those appointments and she was wonderful, as were the dental hygienists. I'm really scared of needles, but she walked me through the process to numb my gums and teeth for the procedures. Not fun stuff to go through, but everyone in this office I encountered was friendly and great at what they do. I'll definitely be going back regularly to this office. read more

I had to have a root canal done and the doctor was honest with me in explaining the risks since my roots were curved. I was pretty nervous but he set me at ease, coatching me on breathing and relaxing. He was very gentle, and gave me the shots slowly so they didnt hurt as much. I was so thankful when it was over...I wanted to kiss him! read more

Where do I start ? The office is nice and clean ! But Aperance is not everything . The lady at the front who answers the phone and makes Apointments and has a mushroom haircut is a witch ! Like the one from the wizard of Oz . She is friendly to your face as long as you don't say you need your dental records . I work Monday threw friday 8 to 530. So my schedule does not work with them anymore. After asking the lady at the counter and explaining my surcustances to her. Her attitude changed instant witch. Also I don't understand why I have to pay $2.00 for the mouth wash. I have good insurance and have never had to pay for mouth wash, or rinse my mouth before getting anything done . The higentist is nice but speaks very little English . I drive to belviue now to get my teeth cleaned . Just skip Reflections dental this place is crap ! read more

I've been coming to this dental clinic since I was in high school and have nothing but the best to say about Reflections! Of course no one likes to go to the dentist, especially since we're at the age that no one offers us a prize bin after our cleaning - but I do have to say, all the workers at Reflections are helpful, knowledgable and are very prompt. I love that the clinic still feels new and is very clean. I appreciate the text messages they send to remind me of appointments. My last cleaning, though a bit painful (all my own fault), my hygienist was so quick, friendly and had a very light hand which helped with it not being unnecessarily painful. Recently moved to Seattle, Reflections Dental was one of the first offices I contacted to establish a new dentist. They're located in shopping center close to my home so that was a plus! Easy to locate. Their office is beautiful! Very clean and beautifully decorated... Idk about you but that's always a must for me. The entire staff is very kind and extremely knowledgeable. Any questions or concerns I've had they are happy to go over all the information, no matter how many times I asked the same question. My schedule is very sporadic and they were very understanding when I needed to reschedule an appointment. My pearly whites are happy and clean and so am I! Thank you Reflections Dental! read more

When I came in the receptionist was by herself and busy working on paperwork. She did not greet me. However, the dental assistant came to the front desk, greeted me and checked me in. When I finished my paperwork, I stood in front of the receptionist as she she was still busy working and did not look up until I said, "Here is my paperwork." She then greeted me and took my paperwork. I waited for about ten minutes to be taken inside. The dental assitant, Kai?, was very nice and completed my x-rays. After the x-rays were done, I waited for about 30 minutes. The dentist only came by once for a quick check in and said that she would come back but never did. Suprisingly, the dental assistant did most of the cleaning (while I held my own suction tube). She then left and I waited for nearly an hour. After that, a hygenist came to quickly finish the rest of the cleaning. I was there for over two hours for a simple cleaning with no explanation until I checked out where I was told there were "emergencies". If it weren't for the nice dental assistant, who did a good job, I would have given this zero stars. read more

I've been coming here for years. Dr Buchanan has a lot of experience. He's really honest about whether you should wait on a procedure or move forward. I like his no-nonsense approach and yes I actually like going to the dentist. His staff is friendly. Mary is one of the office managers and she's very sweet and does a great job of following up. My favorite hygienist is Rachel Harmon. She's fast, but very thorough and provides education on how to keep your teeth healthy without lecturing. Reflections Dental Centre - General Dentistry Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I've never had a more painful dental cleaning than when I visited Reflections. They have a lot of positive reviews on here, so I was surprised. The guy who did my intake and x-rays was nice and mentioned that they're low on dental hygienists, which was why the dentist was doing the actual cleaning that day (ultrasonic vs the scraping tools). I recommend waiting for a hygenist if possible because he (the dentist) clearly didn't understand how rough he was being (even after I cried out a couple times). The dentist also tried to push "deep cleanings" which require localized numbing and suggested the need for orthodontics to correct a very minor issue with my bite (no other dentist has ever even mentioned this). The cleaning also went longer (90 mins) than I feel like it needed to be. Overall it was a disappointing visit and I won't be returning. Admittedly they did squeeze in a guy last minute while I was there who was having a dental emergency. So if you need services ASAP they seem to be good for that. read more

I came in because of a chipped tooth. Was told I needed a crown. The crown they made didn't fit, it was hitting before my back molars. They told me I needed a deep clean. I came in for the clean the lady that did it was pretty ruff. A couple days later my back molar filling falls apart. I came in thinking it was from the cleaning. They disagreed. Of course. I was then told the tooth cannot be saved unless I pay for a scaling, a root canal, and crown. Total of 2,400.00 since my benifits were about out. Or it needs to be pulled. Wow. They tried fixing the other crown that was obviously too big but after 3 tries didnt get it right. Decided I needed a second opinion. Found someone who says tooth has enough tooth left to do a crown and didn't understand why a root canal was necessary if the root wasn't exposed. Thank god. They also fixed my crown in one try. Don't go to a mall to get a tattoo. Lesson learned. I felt I was rushed and they left me with a jacked up mouth. read more

I have been coming here for a few years. After I moved to West Seattle, I needed a new dentist and I did not have insurance, so I called around asking for quotes. Their prices are reasonable - not the lowest but definitely not the highest. When I went to my appointment I found out that they would give me 10% off since I didn't have insurance. They also let me break some of my bills into payment plans when I had to get multiple crowns done, which I appreciated. For one crown I could split it into 2 payments, and for 2 crowns I was allowed 3 payments. Still expensive but much more manageable than paying all at once. I've seen both Dr. Jones and Dr. Buchanan, and I recommend each highly. They are very kind, professional, and good at explaining what is going on with my teeth. Even when the news was disappointing they did a good job (needing to replace an old crown, etc). I have had zero pain at this dentist office, the anesthesia is administered painlessly and is very localized which is nice. I have a long history of dental work and feeling like half my face is frozen... so it's a pleasant surprise when only one small area in my mouth is numb. I've also seen Bonnie and Kha, dental hygienists who were always kind, explanatory, and had good dental-chair side manner. The receptionists, Mary, Tannen (sp?), and Alice (sp??) are super nice, always have a smile, and always work with me for the billing since I don't have insurance. Bonus that it is next to Barnes & Noble, so after I get my dental work done I can go peruse all the books to make myself feel better about my genetically weak teeth!! Overall, even though going to the dentist is never fun, Reflections Dental is an excellent place with experienced, kind people and that helps make the experience much better. read more

Recently went in for a filling and left feeling like the dentist had terrible bedside manner. When I first arrived I explained to the dentist that my jaw has locked open in the past. Then during my filling the hygienist left me sitting there for like 15 mins while the dentist went to treat another patient. Then towards the end of my treatment I stated theta my jaw felt locked open. She didn't really do anything besides rubbed my jaw on the outside and said 'that happens'. Even though I mentioned I felt really uncomfortable the dentist didn't do or say anything. She finished up and rushed out to another patient- who I guess was having an emergency. I left upset because I felt rushed out and completely disregarded as a patient. I then went back telling the front desk my bite felt completely off. I saw the dentist again and she never really answered my question of what do I do if I continue to feel this way after the numbing wears off. I've had my jaw lock in the past and the dentists have responded completely different- like checking to make sure your jaw is in correctly and that your bite is aligned. Poor patient care and maybe highly inexperienced. Will not go back and would not recommend. read more

I didn't end up going there, but I really appreciated the office staff. Background: I needed a root canal on a molar, and my usual dentist doesn't do root canals on molars. He referred me to Reflections. I made an appointment there for a few days later. Fortunately, an office staff person named Mary was kind enough to call me the day before the appointment to point out that my insurance (Dental Health Services, Super Smart Smile Plan) doesn't cover specialists, and it would be over $1200 if I went there. She recommended I that call around to see if I could find a general dentist who would do it, so my insurance would cover it with a $575 copay. After initially striking out at finding a general dentist who would do it, I called back to confirm my plan wouldn't cover it. She had gone for the day, so I didn't leave a message asking for a call back, but she called me back anyway the next day! This tells me Reflections really cares about its patients. It's too bad my insurance wouldn't cover them. I suspect I would have gotten really good care! read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my father and I. This dental clinic may look to you as a " professional clinic" but they lack of customer/patient experience. We used to think we would be able to trust this practice, but everything has changed. All Reflection's mission is to overcharge their patients whether its x-rays (which our insurance covers FMX 1x5 years and 4 BW x 2PA yearly) but decides to charge my father $300 for unnecessary x-rays for a regular check up just so insurance would't cover. Once we confronted this dental clinic they refused to give us a refund. Reflection's also shows lack of courtesy for their patients as well, we have always been very punctual/on time for all appointments and every single appointment they have had us wait 25-30 minutes past our scheduled appointment times, they don't ever apologize for the inconvenience. The last time my father received a filling for a cavity, he has informed the dentist that they had not use enough anesthesia and it was very painful, his response was that he did not use enough anesthesia because he did not want to numb his teeth for long; so they rather have a patient feel the pain of receiving treatment when it could've been relieved using a correct amount of anesthesia. Another issue is their receptionist/billing rep; at every appointment check in ; we always ask if we have a balance so that way it could get taken care of. Each time we have asked they said that there is no balance. Then the incompetent receptionist stated that he had owed $$ from last year, and stated that they have sent a billing statement in the mail. But he has not received not one statement in the last couple years from this practice. Paying the bill was not an issue but the unprofessional attitude we were getting from the representative was. It's sad how much this clinic has gotten and we have been coming here for years. It's sad that they rather focus on profit instead of improving the patient experience. We will now be looking for a new dentist after giving this unethical practice numerous chances. Anyone looking to establish with this clinic should definitely look else where and save your time and money. read more
