Great opportunities await those who want to change. A one stop shop for re-entry.

Oof! What a terrible experience…read more I had my hopes up when I read that many who come here have a good experience. My interaction was the complete opposite. The good: Location is easy to find, parking is robust, the security guard at the door was very polite, and the instructions are easy to follow. So two stars for those points. Here's where things went wrong... I needed some help to confirm that I was completing a document correctly. It's something somewhat time-sensitive, SSA is slow to review and take action, and I wanted to avoid any mistake that would require having to start the process over and delay the outcome. It was something that a phone call to SSA could not accomplish. I came armed with all of my documents, completed and nicely organized. I wanted to make this stressful visit as easy for everyone as possible. I had an appointment. Checked-in and arrived early. I was called as soon as they began operations. Great! Knowing these folks probably deal with a multitude of frustrations, I was sure to be as pleasant as I could possibly be. I explained my purpose. I was met with the Nurse Ratched of the SSA office - cold, rude, sharp, condescending... And minimally helpful. If she wasn't so busy making this the most unpleasant experience ever it would have taken a fraction of the time. In the end I got what I came for but not without a heavy dose of horrible attitude. I feel sorry for the folks who need to be "helped" by her who present her with a more challenging experience. I clearly lost the SSA office customer service lottery this day.

Very helpful gentleman.

When the text never arrived, and because they hadn't asked for any personal info, I couldn't help but wonder: was that a scam or the real deal? The next day, I decided to go to the office anyway. After going through security and getting my number, I actually got to meet the staff member I had spoken with on the phone. She was incredibly nice, calm, and pleasant. She was so helpful and took the time to explain every detail of the procedure and process to me. I left the office feeling so relieved and in such a happy mood! However, as soon as I got to my car, my phone rang--it was the Social Security Administration again. I started to feel frantic, thinking something was wrong, only to find out it was the same lady handling my Medicare application. She was calling to let me know I had left my jacket on the chair! I was so embarrassed, but I am so grateful she called. Thank you so much for the wonderful service and for looking out for me! Would you like me to help you draft a formal version of this to send as a commend

I waited two hours, was called and told to fill out forms. I had been going over this chronically online and gave up because I realized I needed help 'in person's to fill out what was acquired. When I got the letter and was told to go to the office I was under the impression assigned person would help. NO NOT AT ALL......WASTE OF MY TIME......STILL WAS TOLD TO FILL OUT FORMS I NEEDED ASSISTANCE WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE. I suppose I'll be homeless before I get any help from these non chalant goody goodies.

Although I was technically in the wrong location based on my home address--which corresponds to the Mountain View office--I explained that the Campbell location is much more convenient for my workplace. The representative at window 12 was incredibly understanding and assisted me with my Medicare application with great patience. I was assigned ticket number D62, and I could not have asked for better service. I wanted to share this feedback to ensure her hard work and professionalism are recognized. Thank you again for the great experience.

What I can't understand is why they call mentally ill people up on the phone and ask them to explain their side of the story. What the heck? They want you to be all nice and cheerful as they're getting ready to yank your disability check. What is wrong with you? Also, if you become the payee for any grown-up and there's any problems they're gonna make you pay back the adult who got the money. you will be responsible to pay it back. And then they'll ask you to explain why you shouldn't have to pay it back. absolutely the most backwards group of people I have ever encountered. The problem with the whole system is the people who call you up and ask you to explain. They get paid to giggle as you try to wiggle yourself out of their jam. Then they deny you, and then the process just goes on and on, and on clogging up the whole system stealing the taxpayers money. They need to stop denying people. they need to grant their disability which they're gonna get in the end anyways and stop wasting money on the process. billions of dollars is being wasted on the process, and the poor judgement of the people left in charge of the judgments. Pancakes sounds good right now.
