It was easy and very friendly. I thought it was going to drag or I was going to run into rude people, but instead it was the total opposite.

THIS IS NOT A REGULAR DMV... Don't make that mistake…read more.. This office sucks... It's actually two DMV branches / offices combined into one: - DMV Driver Safety Office & - Occupational Licensing (local San Jose branch for Santa Clara County Branch) My review is for the Occupational Licensing. Things have taken a dive since the pandemic. The hours are strange; horrible hours...they're barely open. Good luck trying to get a hold of anyone...even when I did go there in person, nobody form the branch was present. I had to call the main office in Sacramento for simple answers regarding my occupational license. The website states: Limited Service Locations They weren't kidding...

Once you enter you wait in another line as if you were at the DMV where the person who assists you asks you what services you need and they direct you to the next window. It's my fault that I forgot a pen and it was really hard to find someone I could borrow one from; don't forget to take one. I was able to pay with a debit card. I was afraid it would be cash only. I would've liked for it to be a little more organized with visuals/directions after one leaves the initial window. You're kinda left guessing what your next move is bc there's a screen presenting the next number to be called but then the office staff is shouting out different numbers... I do not know if the employees behind counters speak English, I speak Spanish and that's how i communicated with everyone. I know the security guards were bilingual. Overall, I was probably in and out in about an hour without any major hiccups.

Unfortunately, the experience completely changed once I went inside. I came in seeking assistance with my dual citizenship and expected guidance, but the staff member at window 6 or 7 (an older woman with glasses) was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of helping me, she spoke to me in a disrespectful manner and made me feel dismissed. When I politely asked if I could speak to someone else, she refused and told me that no one else could help me. Despite explaining my situation multiple times and presenting all the required documentation, she continued to deny my request and simply told me to come back another day without offering any clear explanation or solution. What was also upsetting was that two other staff members nearby witnessed the interaction and did not step in or offer any assistance. Overall, this was a very unprofessional and frustrating experience. I came in expecting help and left feeling disrespected and unsupported. I hope this reaches to the right people and they talk to her to be understanding and express her self in a positive manner form because why is she even working there with that sort of attitude.

When one has a love for historical sites, plaques standout to you like flowers to bees! Unfortunately, I was en route to something else and didn't have time to reconnoiter it, but made a mental note to go one day. I was finally able to make it out to this seemingly random lot ―which turns out to be part of Santa Teresa County Park― and discovered that it actually had quite a history behind it. 1) It served as a burial site for the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe for as long as 3,000 years and 32 burials were exhumed by a joint San Jose State/West Valley College Archeological dig in 1972-1973. One of the bodies exhumed carbon-dated back to 200 BC! https://goo.gl/fR7Ztf 2) The huge Oak on-site is believed to be one of the trees that was used to chain Bears that were used in the Bear-Bull Fights that took place at Rodeos, during the Spanish-Mexican era of Alta, CA. Animal gladiator entertainment at its "best." Apparently Bears won a preponderance of the time since the fights were fixed in their favor, by sawing the tips off the bull's horns. 3) José Joaquin Bernal's (the original owner of Rancho de Santa Teresa) grandson, Ygnacio Bernal, built his home here. If you're into totally random spot with some cool history attached to it, then this is for you. I'm sure the other 98% of the population just zooms right by. My only beef with this place is you can't really walk around it; just park, look and move one. Still, it's history and that always deserves a 3-star minimum in my book.

What we saw was incredible and inspiring for the Vietnamese community, to the point that I feel this is one of the most legendary and ambitious projects to shake the meaning of what a Service Center can do. Nearly every part of the building, from its exterior to interior, is highly aesthetic and had deep, culturally significant meaning in the art and design. The entire building is extremely comfortable and pleasing to the eye, and the staff are all nice, friendly and helpful! The vibe and atmosphere is so nice that it feels like a second home and I would love to visit again! The multitude of services offered left a deep impression, such as social services, senior nutrition, the full gamut of medical and dental care with trained professionals, resources and rooms catered towards children, seniors, and adults of all ages, community programs, a food pantry, and more valuable services available whether you have insurance or no insurance at all. Each room we passed through the tour only further cemented the lasting impression that this entire center was created by the Vietnamese community, for the Vietnamese community. All made possible by the passionate leaders who surveyed and studied the needs of Vietnamese families and seniors for years and years. Everything is backed by state of the art technology and design to make accessible and thoughtful additions to fit everyone's needs with dignity and comfort, from those who may be young, old, and those who need more accessibility. As a recent college graduate, I wasn't aware that even the chairs and tables at the center could be advanced, practical AND comfy like that, so it's impressive even for someone of my age. Many of the staff and managers are long time community role models who have been deeply involved in supporting the Vietnamese community, and I am familiar and trust their knowledge and passion for helping others. At the core of this building's inception was the need to address the long-neglected Vietnamese community and senior community, which was revealed with statistics to be suffering from some of the highest mortalities in preventable illness due to lack of resources. This building is one of the most awe-inspiring buildings I have ever seen, and at the time of this review, the 3rd floor was still being finished, so it will be even better when finished. As a Vietnamese American who has felt the neglect and lack of accessibility with how the government addressed the Vietnamese community, I can finally see some light and I know that we and my aging family will be in good hands with this center. I can't wait for the day the entire center is complete and has its Grand Opening!
