The two primary types of popcorn are regular or classic popcorn and gourmet popcorn. Regular popcorn is characterized by its simplicity and affordability, while gourmet popcorn offers a more sophisticated and diverse range of flavors, often with premium ingredients. Gourmet popcorn typically includes premium popping corn, high-quality oils, and a diverse range of seasonings and coatings. Ingredients can vary widely depending on the flavor, ranging from truffle oil and parmesan for savory options to caramel and chocolate for sweet varieties. The popcorn served here by definition is gourmet. I purchased the banana pudding popcorn. This popcorn has a creamy texture after the initial crunch of the popcorn dissipates. You start by going around the room and introducing yourself and your favorite cheese, basically as an ice breaker to meet everyone there. It was a little noisy and not intimate for a 2-person outing. I am from Dallas, and there are like 20 popcorn shops there, and since I moved here I have wanted a place like that to go to. I walked in & fell in love with the movie motif, and the name Reel Popcorn suits it well. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a nice young lady and she immediately began telling me the flavors, and how you order it, so I really do not know what the people below are talking about. In my opinion the customer service was wonderful! As for the popcorn, many of the flavors I tasted were great. I have personally tried to make caramel before and it is not easy so for a brand new store trying to master a very difficult recipe, I think it was not bad. Obviously a little more practice is necessary, but I am sure they will master it. The Dill was absolutely to die for. By far my favorite, and trust me I tried many. The Loaded Baked Potato one was good, as well as the Bacon & Cheddar. I got a few tins and bags for some of my friends and family and they absolutely loved it, and were already talking about going to get more. And as far as people complaining because it was too busy and there was a line, HELLOOOOO it is Christmas, everywhere was crazy, and I am sure a lot of people went there to get last minute presents for people they didn't really know what to get, including myself! I can see how a brand new business might have a few kinks in it, but I am sure it will all work itself out in due time. I support Austin based businesses, and this is one I will continue to bring my business to. Have some patience and understanding people. ________________________________________________________ I have since been back to this store, and I think they are doing a great job. The two employees that were there instantly greeted me and started asking if I wanted to try anything and told me all about how they sell it and prices and stuff. I think they have worked through their issues and seem to be doing pretty well. It is WONDERFUL popcorn, so go try some for yourself! read more

I read some of these reviews before I went there and quite frankly I was not looking too forward to visiting, but I'm a die hard popcorn fan so I just had to. The popcorn was awesome! It's really cute inside and they let you try as many samples as you want. I ended up getting the dill (which was suggested to me by the girl working at the counter). I also got the chocolate covered pretzel, and the toffee almond. My boyfriend and I sat there and ate an entire medium sized bag of the dill all at once. It was weird cause i was full but I couldn't stop eating it. The other two flavors were also really good. My mom practically stole the white chocolate pretzel from my house, and my boyfriend ate all of the toffee almond. Its located in Southpark meadows which i love to go to for shopping. So now I always go in to get a light snack to give me energy for a fun day of shopping. I find a lot of people on this website relish in talking smack and letting the most insignificant thing ruin there experience. I've never had any problems in this place, everyone's friendly. Its a daughter and mom owned shop, which i like to support more then corporations. And most importantly its legitimately delicious popcorn. read more
