If you're looking for the best popcorn in town, look no farther...this shop has it... in flavors that I would have never imagined...like banana pudding...which is so good it should be illegal! Not only is the popcorn the best, the staff is super friendly and happy to hand out samples for you to try...or you can sample yourself from their popcorn bar if you're a popcorn aficionado like me, you've got to get yourself some of this popcorn...you won't be disappointed! read more

This is hands down the absolute best gourmet popcorn in Austin, if not the entire great state of Texas! So many diverse options you that I never would've ever thought of. And if you have option anxiety like me, they have a cool sample station! I recommend the Tuxedo for the chocolate lovers! Always fast and friendly service. Love this place! read more

I love this place! The owner is fantastic and always super helpful! I swear I come in almost every week to replenish my popcorn supply at my office. My favorites are, Kill Dill, Garlic Parmesan, and Caramel...YUMMM!!!!!! read more

Reel Popcorn never disappoints! The staff there will give you a quick intro if you've never been and even gives you really swell suggestions for mixing flavors. They also sell Tins that give you 1/2 off on refills. The breakdown is simple: it's really great popcorn with really interesting flavors. The Flavor of thee Month for January is Tomato Basil, it is outstanding, but I always recommend the Pizza mixed with Garlic Parmesan or Cocunut Curry by itself. They also give you samples here if you have any questions about the flavor. read more

I love coming here when the weather is warmer and I need a good snack to munch on while I'm visiting all the shops around it. Most of the time the owner, Sharon, is there and is sweet... though I won't lie, I do miss the smoothie place that was here before. read more

I'm so glad that this place re-opened in a better spot fir easier access. The popcorn is great as well as the service. Can't pick from the 30+ flavors? No worries. You can sample until you find your perfect flavor. You can also mix flavors. My fav flavors are loaded baked potato, garlic Parmesan, caramel pecan, and cookies and cream. Stop by and see for yourself. read more

Awesome selection and friendly service. Best tasting popcorn in Texas! Try the cinnamon roll...you'll thank me later.

Has been years since I stopped by the store. I had wonderful help today and he let me take my time to decide what flavors I wanted. I tried a number of samples and went with a large tim of half Buffalo and half Super dill. Great fresh tasting popcorn. So much better then the mall popcorn shop. read more

Wow.....there are way too many negative reviews for Reel Popcorn! People are crazy! I love this place, I can't wait until the new one opens. We're also planning to have this popcorn at our wedding in about a month and we can't wait! The flavors are all really good. I hope that the S. Congress location will bring more business, people really don't know what they're missing! read more

Hello again!! I just wanted to say Thank-You for your service!! Your popcorn was a big hit at my Church on Halloween and again for Our Youth Group party at Church tonight, The Cornfetti was a big hit!! Thanks again!!! You will be seeing us again!! read more

I love popcorn. Movie theater popcorn, caramel popcorn, any and every kind of popcorn. Popcorn rocks my world. There is a place near campus that I used to go to for popcorn cravings, but have not been impressed with as of late. I heard about Reel Popcorn from a friend who had them at her Halloween party and had rave reviews. I was told their 'Smokin Chipotle' flavor was delicious. I read some of the yelp reviews and was hesitant to try them, but I love popcorn and had to follow my heart. If you live in South Austin, their location is very convenient with plenty of parking. When I walked in I was a tad frightened. Their store was a hot mess, for lack of a better word. My mom (another popcorn enthusiast) and I almost turned around and walked out, but my hunger outweighed my OCD. I expected there to be lazy rude employees sprawled across the couch based on other reviews, but was pleasantly surprised to see two young ladies hard at work making popcorn. One of them cheerfully greeted me at the counter, the other not far behind. The store is decorated with several movie posters and popcorn memorabilia, and wasn't as cluttered near the register. Both employees were extremely helpful in explaining the different flavors and giving me their HONEST opinion on which flavors to try, which I always appreciate. They were friendly, patient and let me try as many flavors as I wanted. They even brought me some fresh caramel popcorn because "I had to try it." They have tons of flavors. I tried the Creamy Dill, Kill Dill (Dill and Salt & Vinegar), Smokin Chipotle, White Chocolate Pretzel, and the Austin Mix (Butter, Cheddar, and Caramel). I ended up buying a bag of the Austin Mix, Smokin Chipotle, and White Chocolate Pretzel (my favorite). I'm not sure if they have new staff, or other reviewers just caught them on an "off day" but I had a lovely experience at Reel Popcorn and would recommend them to my friends and family. They're much more affordable than other companies of the same niche. read more

I love Reel Popcorn!!! The prices are very reasonable. I always get excellent customer service when I go in there. I just went yesterday and was waited on by a young man who was very polite and nice. I always get quality popcorn when I go here. I also love that it is a local Austin store. My favorites are cheese punk (that's my husband's fav too), Austin Mix, Texas Trio and a mix of cherry and vanilla. We always go here for our gourmet popcorn!!! read more

Sooo many popcorn flavors! Friendly staff! This place is Awesome! I heard they do catering as well.

If quality, tasty popcorn is your thing, then Reel Popcorn is the place to go! We have been going to Reel Popcorn for a while now... My kids prefer Reel Popcorn instead of the Popcornopolis or whatever it is now at the mall. The location is convenient now that they are on S. Congress. There is never any traffic and it's not crowded. The store is REALLY customer service friendly! They have it set up like a chill theater inside with a mini jukebox and all these different mini popcorn sample dispensers so you can taste their most popular flavors and any new, limited flavors that they usually provide throughout the year. The staff are very nice and they make it a fun experience for my kiddos each time we swing by. I heard that they will start showing movies there and my kids are pumped up to go see a movie where they will be in popcorn heaven! The quality and taste of Reel Popcorn gets you in the door and their customer service and ambiance will bring you back! I also like that they are locally owned and operated. Keep it local Austinites! read more

Does anyone else feel ripped off about their UD coupon to Reel Popcorn? The store seems to have been closed forever...

Popcorn is one of my absolute guilty pleasures. Growing up, I satisfied my cravings by indulging in those popcorn tins gifted by my grandmother. Although they were quite tasty, I always felt there could be more variety. Thank goodness I stumbled across Reel Popcorn the other day. I have never been so overwhelmed by flavor and deliciousness! What an amazing concept. The store is super cute and the staff was so refreshing. I love supporting local stores and this one was an absolute treasure. Mmmmm! read more

Simply put, I love popcorn! I regularly make it on the stove top when we're watching movies at home, and always order bottomless popcorn with clarified butter at the Drafthouse. That said, I've driven past Reel Popcorn countless times without stopping, until a couple of weeks ago when I passed by and made a u-turn, and boy am I glad I did!! One of the owners who was behind the counter was helpful and informative, offering free samples and explaining their pricing. I'm a savory gal, and my sweetie has a sweet tooth. The Austin Mix is my favorite: a trio of cheese, buttery, and caramel popcorn. With over 47 savory, candied, and specialty flavors, there's a kernel for every taste!! Pop in and buy local!! read more

I read all the other reviews and can identify with most. I have worked in a popcorn shop in Wisconsin where I am from since I was 15. So I have become quiet an expert on the popcorn business. All the reviews that state its expensive don't know what they are talking about the prices are very good for the amount which you receive. I mean a fifty pound bag of unpopped popcorn costs nearly 45 dollars since growers get most of their profit from large quantity manufacturers such as Orville and other microwave popcorn companies. That doesn't go very far... when making the quantity that Reel Popcorn makes. I have not tried all of their popcorn flavors because certain kinds can only be produced using a powder... and always end up gross. I also agree with all those who say the caramel tastes burnt, I have sampled it twice a month apart and it is consistently like that. However their cheese popcorn is pretty good maybe not amazing but for the price is good, so is the jalapeno. For people who like salt and vinegar, that is also one to try: my mother-in-law loved it and she can be quite picky. My hands down favorites though are the S'more and White Chocolate pretzel flavors both are worth stopping by for. As for customer service, it's hasn't been amazing but I haven't had any bad experiences either. I give this place 4 stars because I will go continue to go back. The prices are very reasonable. Just make sure to sample things before you buy them. That way there is no disappointment of getting something that sounded good in theory but actually isn't what you expected. read more

I love this popcorn! I use to get popcorn at Candyland in Minneapolis/St Paul and was delighted to find the same quality popcorn here in Austin! Although I live in north Austin, when ever I'm in south Austin I stop if I can and treat myself! read more

Stay open the hours you advertise. I saw that posted after I drove to the store to find it closed during advertised open hours.. Highly disappointed that I did not get a glorious popcorn experience as suggested by other reviews. When do you get it? read more

Accidentally stumbled upon this gem during a recent business trip to Austin and I can't stress enough how wonderful their product is! Service was spectacular (Jen was her name if memory serves me correctly), and the popcorn is out of this world! I would highly recommend it to any popcorn lover. My favorite was the jalapeno cheddar/nacho cheddar I think it was called "on the boarder" read more

I like the Chicago Mix and the Buffalo flavor has a nice kick. Ashley was very helpful and allowed us to sample some additional flavors. She was extremely sweet and pleasant to interact with. I want to try the white chocolate pretzel next time (they were sold out when we went). read more

I got 10 flavors of popcorn for a belated Xmas gift. I took it to work and we had a sampling party. Don't let the bag size fool you - there is plenty of popcorn in them! By far, the caramel was a huge hit with everyone. My favorite is dill, but after trying the BB Q- I might have to change. My boss' fav was the toffee. One person loved the baked potato. Another person loved the bacon cheddar - another the ranch - another the cornfetti - well, you get the picture - everyone picked a favorite. To all you negative yelpers - this is a new business! Maybe you should try giving constructive criticism so they can fix what doesn't work for you- did you bother to find out if everything they do is written in stone? I will definitely give them my business and yes, my hard earned dollars! read more

My two sons and I love the chance to get up to Southpark Meadows playground as they have one of the best sources of free entertainment that I have seen around! About a month ago, I noticed this popcorn store recently pop up (pardon the pun) in the shopping center (behind the stage) & upon entering, were welcomed by a smiling happy face. The lady behind the counter offered my sons unlimited sampling of crazy combinations of popcorn goodness, ranging from Loaded Baked Potato to White Chocolate Peppermint to a pretty rainbow collection (found out it had grape, blueberry, cherry, lemon, and more). The store was absolutely beautifully decorated in a old movie theme and was entertaining to walk through. We ordered a snack size of the common crowd pleaser- Loaded Baked Potato, for snacking purposes. I was shocked to find a New York Giants tin (my husband's a huge fan) and decided to purchase it for him. The tin was loaded with my choice of three different flavors - my husband had never heard of anything like this and thought it was the greatest thing he's ever snacked on. BTW, there of course are NUMEROUS UT tins and many other tin themes for colleges, sports and such. After talking about this store with others, I have learned that these type of gourmet popcorn stores are common in big cities but are a new thing to hit Austin! I love it! I have been in several other times and have since then bought several gift tins for my office - which I may add were all depleted within minutes! During the Christmas light show... things seemed crazy in that shopping center, the popcorn store sold hot cocoa and there was a line out the door! The store has always been clean, smelt yummy and my family has had such an enjoyable time sampling the crazy flavors! Definitely a fan! read more

This place was great. I felt welcome from the moment I walked it. Jeremy was so friendly. He was very patient as I asked about the flavors and he let me try the ones I wanted before I finally decided. I totally recommend this place. Not only was the service great, the popcorn was awesome! read more

Reel Popcorn did an amazing job at our wedding! Great job setting up a stylish and fun popcorn buffet with 9 different flavors! It was so awesome how you coordinated all the flavors and colors with the colors of our wedding. It was one of the top highlights of night!! Job well done by Jennifer and Reel Popcorn! Thanks for traveling all the way to dallas too! read more

Great popcorn, flavors are awesome ! The service is great, especially if you happen to get Crystal as your server,

Best popcorn shop I Austin, they have so many flavors it's hard to decide every time. Chicago, Tuxedo, both awesome mixes. It's worth the trip down South every time. Service is always with a smile and friendly clerks every time. read more

Reel Popcorn is the perfect place to get all your gourmet popcorn. They have an extensive selection of flavors and fun combinations. One of my favorites is the Banana Pudding, but it is hard to choose because they all are so yummy. They also do weekly specials and Flavors of the Month. Highly recommend as sweet gifts too! read more

As amazing as always... Awesome owner and popcorn. Kill Dill is to die for! I wish they had a Lake Travis location.

Very good popcorn, and great customer service. My wife and I heard about their coconut curry popcorn in a magazine and had to try it. After spending forever driving around the shopping center with poor signage, we finally asked at Target for directions. Turned out we were close. But the popcorn was worth it. My wife and I spent a long time sampling the different flavors before deciding on a combination (we ended up going with a mix of coconut curry and wasabi ranch). Then as a bonus the lady behind the counter (owner, I think?) pointed us to a great barbecue restaurant in Austin. Good stuff all around. read more

I love this popcorn! It can be costly, but I deserve it! The cookies n cream is the best!! I have read some of the negative comments on here, I was suprised as I have never had a bad experience at the store. Good popcorn, good service! read more

This is a business that requires bunches of imagination and tons of customer service from every employee. I have been going to reel popcorn for a long time and think the product is wonderful. We have received only stellar customer service from the owner and mildly indifferent customer service from the youngsters. Like everything else, one has to give a place more than one chance. read more

I have always had great service at Reel Popcorn. The owner has gone out of her way to help me in a crunch. My family is more than excited for the new location to open!! If you haven't tried the Cinnamon and Vanilla mix, you HAVE to try it! If you like "REAL" good popcorn, get to "REEL POPCORN". read more

Reel Popcorn catered my wedding (I had a popcorn bar). I really appreciated the owner and her staff they were all very kind and helpful. They recommended some great blends/mixes and the popcorn bar was a hit! We actually ran out of popcorn before the wedding was over and I had a small wedding. To this day people ask me where I got the popcorn from and I will ALWAYS recommend Reel Popcorn. I couldn't be happier with the result! I always suggest Reel Popcorn for corporate gifts and for holidays! read more

I had an enjoyable exprience here for the most part.. Service was slow but the popcorn I got was really good.. I got the cinnamon toast. Yum. I tried a sample of the Smores and that was yummy too. Got a free bag of the small size with purchase of a 3 flavor tin that I got for work. Sample bag was a mixture of the candy fruit flavors. They were okay, a little much if you ate a more then a handful in a sitting. Got the jalapeno cheddar fo rmy dad and he loved it. read more
