Not what we expected at all.
Let me preface this by saying that my family and I have been to Indian Rocks Beach before, and we absolutely love it. It is a beautiful, quiet beach. Not too crowded, and the sun setting over the ocean is a such a sight. We definitely will return soon.
However, we will NOT be coming back to the Reef Club.
In all fairness, I will say this: if the owners were to keep their units up-to-date, it would be much nicer. I would be more willing to stay again. There is a spiral staircase on the balcony that leads directly to the pool, hot tub, beach, grills and tennis court, so that is a big plus and probably the best part of this place.
The room, however, is a different story.
As soon as we walked in, we were hit with a distinct sour smell of a carpet that needed some serious cleaning. Each bed was COVERED in hair, thankfully we always bring our own sheets, pillows and blankets. The towels and dishes provided in the room had yet to be washed. The thermostat was stuck at 72 degrees and we were not allowed to touch it, otherwise the system would "freeze up." It took hours for the room to finally cool down. As for the fridge and freezer, we bought groceries for the week and placed them inside. A few hours later, I went to check on said groceries and none were even cold. When I called the people in charge, I was basically told to get over it. Fortunately, it finally got to the correct temperature before the food spoiled. The room did come with a washing machine and dryer, and it only took about 3 full cycles before our clothes and towels were finally dry.
Overall, I would not recommend this place to ANYONE until the people in charge put money into fixing these units. Oh, and I forgot to mention the NIGHTMARE that is the parking deck, underneath the building and it is nearly impossible to navigate in and out of. And if there is someone in your "assigned" parking spot, OH WELL. Nothing will be done.
My wife reminded me of one more thing before I post this: the showers. There are two, and one seems to hog every last bit of water pressure while the other is absolutely pathetic.
As you can see, not a place you want your family to stay for a week, unless you hate them and want them to suffer. read more
