This is a great resort with a nice pool and good spot right across the street from private beach access! The resort is also very well maintained and cleaned. I'd recommend staying in an Airbnb though so you know what you're getting. Each condo is owned by someone different, so there is a lot of variety in the rooms and what's provided in them. read more

We were looking forward to staying here but we had a medical emergency with our special needs kiddo. We tried to change the date of stay 48 hours in advance to another week via their customer service team and we were unable to get a refund. Incredibly disappointed in their lack of empathy and understanding so now we are not going to patron this facility out of principle. It's a shame because I am from Indian Rocks beach and would love to have a go to resort for my family to enjoy for years to come. *Special needs families I would try different hotels. read more

Oh my gosh! We (unfortunately) only needed to stay one night but it was awesome while we were there! It is beautiful, the accommodations are off the chart and the hospitality is above board! We actually only live about an hour away but this will definitely be our 'go to' place when we just want to get away for a bit! Five stars all the way!!!!! read more

Booked a 4 bedroom condo in February. When we arrived on June 20 we were informed we had a three bedroom condo, and the fourth bedroom for our MINOR child would be on a different floor and separate. No call, no text, no email. Drove hours and hours expecting one thing, and got another. Was told the manager was supposed to call us. She didn't. I realize we are subject to being moved, but we should all be moved TOGETHER. Then we were told we had to pay to get in, but the manager would call us "first thing in the morning". Next morning- no call. No text. No email. Been coming here for 12 years. I'll never trust this property again to give me what I booked in advance. There are always good reasons people get moved, but there's never a good reason to be ignored, failed to be contacted and treated this way. Again, our minor children were separated on another floor. Our only option was to split my wife and I into different places. How hard is a phone call? An email explaining things? An apology? Very disappointing form what I thought was a good property who cares. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and time to call me, but I have no choice now but to leave this honest review for the next family coming in to see how they might be treated. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Will book from Resort Rentals or Vrbo. Absolutely terrible experience would never use again. Rented through Vrbo under false pretenses. Specifically rented for use of the pool, and upon arrival the whole pool was a constriction area and not able to be used. Didn't get any notification of this until already checking in and on the property. Neither myself or Vrbo could contact them that day to get a refund or move properties so decided to stay since I was already on the vacation and there. They told me they would give me 20% off and then the taxes back. It's been a few weeks and still haven't gotten the refund, but when contacting them they are only giving me a small portion of the refund they said they were going to. Wasn't worth it, or the hours spend between calls, chats, and emails with them or Vrbo. DO NOT USE EITHER COMPANY! read more

So I recently stayed at this hotel and honestly when we first walked in we got this really bad feeling like we were being watched or something, the door to the connected room was all rustic and almost broken to the point where the person could just walk in. Eventually I switched rooms with one of my friends because they didn't mind it but once I moved into the new room there was bugs on one of the bed. Overall, if your trying to look for a hotel to stay at with family or to have a nice vacation or even just stay a couple of days i would not come here, you won't be able to enjoy your stay. Other than the rudeness of the people up at the front counter, this place is actually really nice and just across the street from Indian Shores beach. I acknowledge that I was a couple hours early to for check-in time, but had asked if my room was ready still. They refused to check for me and I had to wait the full time. The property is nice and clean and very easy to navigate and has multiple grills around the property that have the gas hooked up already for your convenience. The pool was nice and clean and had a separate waterway behind it was a dock connected to the property that you could rent a fishing pole to fish off of it with. That and the grills are included with your stay here. The condo I stayed in had a separate bedroom from the common area and also a twin bed on the side while the couch pulls out into a bed. The floor is all tile of course being closest to the beach which makes it easier to clean up from all the sand you bring in. There is also a nice crosswalk with lights that will flash when you press a button to cross it to help stop the cars from passing the busy Street next to it. I probably try and stay here again because of how nice to set up is and how convenient this location is next to various restaurants including the beach. Hopefully by the next time the people at the rental office will be in a better mood. read more

We booked this hotel last minute. The price was very good for a hotel across the street from the beach. We decided to call and make the reservation over the phone, we wanted a room on the bottom with easy beach access. You get an aaa discount! Yah! We arrived early to the hotel, and my husband tried to check in early. The process was not the best. Next time we will arrive closer ro check in time. The room was great! Clean! And what we wanted. We were suprised that they had a twin bed also. We ate out the first night, hotel is really close to restaurants. Its next to a really fancy one. The kitchen is fully stoked. We made rice and beans. We even grilled ribs in the grill they have on property. The beach is across the street, and the hotel has beach chairs in the room you can take. I was afraid to cross the street with small children but there a cross walk with flashing lights. I will be returning back to this hotel! read more

We've been coming here for five years and have rented both from the property itself and Airbnb. The condos are always great for a family. We like the ones with patios the best. It's always busy here and there's lots of kids which is great for mine. Even with all these positives we probably won't be back. The property has started to really decline. The pool is absolutely filthy with chunks of hair floating around and crusty dirt all around the edges. The crust is thick in some spots so it definitely didn't just happen. The grounds could also use just an overall clean-up. read more

A Great clean place to vacation. Very roomy. Nice people I've met while being here. Every thing needed is here. Plenty of towels & linens. Haven't had to run to the office for anything. Location is Excellent. Walking distance to beach. Even provided beach chairs & umbrella to take to beach. Grilling area provided. Beautiful clean pool area. Downstairs places have private patios. We stayed in E114 right on Gulf Boulevard... I was a little worried reading the few bad reports... but upon arrival we were blown out of the water the place was clean, the kitchen was clean, the bedrooms were clean even the bathroom was clean... we were amazed that other people had problems... maybe the people that stayed in the room before them were pigs and didn't clean what they used..?( kitchen ware) The fist day there the little one locked us out and we went to the front desk and they handed us a key stating "if we would lock ourselves out during the night or after the front desk closes at 5 we would have to call someone and would have to pay $20.-$50. to let us back in... Thank goodness we didn't have to do that... Right across Gulf Boulevard was a row of condos or hotels and then the white sand beaches (like I remember as a kid) which was amazing not that far to walk at all.. with a $10. a day fee they let you use 2 beach chairs, a beach umbrella,a boogie board, the use of bikes and fishing rods...(which you had to get from the front desk) The pool was clean and right on the inner costal although it closes at 9pm we used it for maybe a half hour after we watched the sunset on the beach.. Then we would sit on the benches near the fishing dock and seen dolphins and sea otters, the girls loved that... Although we didn't fish we seen people fishing and they caught a quite a few fish that they were keeping to eat..(I think and hope) I'm writing this review so people don't get discouraged on using this place... It definitely was a great time and great for the family who has never been to Florida... besides Disney Land.... read more

A beach vacay was exactly what our family needed! I leave all the planning, of things like this, up to my husband- places to stay, etc. He knows what we enjoy in a vacation spot. This vacay was tricky because we were taking 2 teenage girls. Our own and our neighbor. I wanted a spot that had things close by for the girls but I didn't want to stay where they had access to spend money all day, every day. Barefoot Beach is a great spot. There are things close by but it's not in a "gift shop mecca" We arrived later in the evening so the office was closed. Our key and instructions to check in the next morning were in the office box. We were all pleasantly surprised by our room! Very clean; up to date and VERY spacious. We had a 2 bedroom/1 bath unit. Kitchen, living room, dining room and even an office area/sitting room. The A/C unit was in perfect working order and kept us cool in that crazy Fl. heat. Barefoot doesn't sit right on the ocean but the walk to the beach from our room was a full 2 minutes. Literally, right across a small street. The pool was great. Very clean and well maintained. Plenty of chairs, umbrellas and tables. Bathroom close by so you didn't have to run back to your room. The grounds were very clean and also well maintained. Grills all around the property. There were MANY families grilling nightly but we never had to wait for a grill; they have plenty. The one thing I should mention is that our condo did not have grill tools. So as a family of four trying to save money by not eating out every night, grilling was awesome. But traveling on a plane to get there does not make bringing your own grill tools practical. We made do. It wasn't impossible and certainly didn't change our outlook on our vacay time. In the closet, we were so surprised to learn they offered beach chairs and a beach umbrella to use free of charge. Not common in most resorts. Barefoot also offered free bikes. Great!! Our girls took advantage of this a few times. However.............with that being said........... The office closes early. And by early I mean before 5pm. In my opinion, that's too early. And after the office closes, you can't get the bikes. So an evening bike ride is out of the question, I guess?? In this area.........if you are a couple that likes to walk to a local watering hole in the evening for a few drinks.....there is not too much with in walking distance but hey, read my upcoming reviews on those 'gems.' So basically, we have already discussed another beach vacation for next year and we've agreed we would like to stay at Barefoot Beach Resort again. We've never really loved a resort that we've wanted to 100% come back to. read more

We recently stayed at this resort. We were in condo # B203. Upon arrival we noticed that the dishes were not clean in the room. Everything I tried to use to cook with was filthy. The bowls, utensils, and pots and pans had food still on them. As did the silverware. After reading the rules of the unit, I realized that eight towels were provided for two people for eight nights. Hmm, that's a half a towel each per day. The rules state that you may not wash their towels. However, for $16.00 you can get clean towels. I have never heard of such a thing. You also get one roll of toilet paper. After going to the front office the next day and letting the front desk know that our unit was dirty, the gal at the front desk offered to give me the towels for a fee. I walked out and said that was ridiculous. The lady followed me out and said she would then give me fresh towels. Never once did she offer to send housekeeping to clean the unit. After talking to several property owners there onsite around the pool, we realize that the office has hidden charges that the renters are not aware of if you rent through the office. These units are also available I learned on VRBO. The furnace unit in the room is extremely loud. The mattress is so cheap that when I went to tuck in the sheets, I lifted it with one finger. It deffenetly felt like a refurbished one. The sofa and chairs were very dirty as well. The check out time is 10:00am.... Get your coffee and run! I would not recommend this property to anyone if you plan to rent through the main office there. However, after meeting some really nice property owners, I would recommend you going through VRBO. During checking out I showed the photos I had taken to the front desk gal. She said that housekeeping should have come in and cleaned our unit again. She assured me that I would get a phone call to follow up from the office manger. That has not happened...... read more

We stayed here for 7 days and this place was top notch. We had water views and just across the street we had beach access. The pool was also kept very clean for water bums like us. My only complaint was the floors (they could have done a better job cleaning them) but it wasn't intolerable. read more

-stayed here a few times & enjoyed it every time. We always rent thru owners anywhere we go because we find better service goes w/owner pride. Most condos that need managing have owners that are far away, as far as Europe. They really have no idea of the quality of their condo management or the condition it is in. When the property is managed by the owner, we find they are usually close by. We had a problem this time, & the owner was there first thing in the morning to make it right. This place is on the intercostal which is our choice because of all the protected wild life we get to see. It is also across from a beautiful beach w/private access. It is a very close distance to many great restaurants. (See my list) The pool is incredible & hubster fishes off the docks every morning. They have 1 or 2 bedrooms, & like all places, you can choose by the pool, on the intercostal, up or downstairs and you won't be disappointed with any. They are newer than many on Indian Shores & very comfortable like home. My only complaint is that the beds are harder than we like & without even mentioning it, I also heard that from 2 other guests. --just ask about it if it's a problem with you. We go in between spring break & when schools out which is a very quiet time and also after school starts in September. The week ends always get crowded w/the mainlanders looking for a couple of beach days. --That's when we chill at the condo, use the grill, & wait for Monday when everyone clears out to hit the restaurants & shops etc. again! --check out VRBO for a place here or many places here on Indian Shores! read more

Keep in mind when booking that each unit has a different owner. Therefore what you see in the photos is likely not what you will get. The landscaping was neat and tidy, and there was always someone doing something around the property. I found the staff to be pleasant, but not helpful. They said they would send someone to locate the remote for us, but we were there a week and it never happened. They had no blankets that we could use other than the three in the unit, two of which were actually the quilts on the bed. The beach chairs that they provide are ones that you have to carry yourself across the street. The gym is two miles down the road, not convenient at all. There isn't much right around there that you can walk to other than an expensive and not great coffee shop and a very expensive restaurant, so plan on driving. My main reason for the 2 stars is that whomever they have clean the units before you arrive clearly does not check things like if there are things under beds, or if there are clean sheets available for the pull out bed, or if the dishes are clean. The second reason for the low rating is that the water pressure in the shower is very weak. It's a really good thing that we were never covered in sand, I can't imagine how the shower would ever have gotten us cleaned off. read more

This place is heaven. Got a great deal on hotel.com for a 2 bed condo and was blown away when we arrived. Just a short walk to the beach the condo came equipped with everything you need for an awesome beach vacation. Condo came with a large cooler, beach umbrella, a pop up awning, sand toys, fishing gear, beach towels, beach chairs, and a large wagon to make hauling it to the beach effortless. This will forever be our go to place for our beach outings. read more

This was a very nice condo with boat slips and a beach access. I am only giving it 2 stars because of the misleading advertisements and hidden fees. I was told we would have a king & queen bed and we had double beds instead. I was aware there was a daily resort fee but they also charge $20 a day cleaning fee (even though they do not clean daily). I was really excited about staying here again, and even booked a waterfront unit. Great view, but I was disappointed with Unit A 211. Door knob loose, key difficult to use, blinds that did work, broken shower heads, not sure if floor had been cleaned before we got there and the fact that there were palmetto bugs in the living room and in bath towels. No extra pillows cases or pillows. There were beach chairs and a small cooler. I like this area and proximity to family, but I will suggest avoiding A211. read more

Right next door to a fantastic restaurant the best steak and mahi mahi me and my friend have ever had melt in your mouth and worth every cent we paid for them! I would highly recommend this wonderful condos and the Salt Rock grill conveniently located just next door within walking distance to anyone interested in visiting the west coast of Florida. don't forget your rental car you may need it if you want to have access two grocery stores and shopping. the only downside I can mention is the lack of accessible grocery stores and things to do with in the area if you're looking for anything outside the beach or the pool you will need a car. read more

This resort was a pleasant surprise for me and my family We waited till the last minute to decide to take a family vacation and the usual places we would have picked were booked., so we started searching the web for a place with 3- 2 bedroom condos and 3- 1 bedroom condos on the beach. Quite the challenge. After 3 or 4 days of searching we called the Barefoot Resort and April answered the phone. She went above and beyond just helping us secure rooms. She worked with us and actually got us all relatively close to each other. This resort is on the inter coastal side but the island is so narrow they are actually closer to the water on the Gulf side than a lot of the beach front resorts down the road. Everything you need is included with the rooms and boat dockage is available also. We live in Florida and will be back. The only negative and really not a big deal is that the 2nd floor condos do not have a balcony read more

Wonderful location. Amenities were great. Kitchen was well equipped to be able to have our own meals in the condo. Parking was close to the buildings. Quick walk across the street to get to the beach. Pull out couch decently comfortable. Only complaint is regarding the beds. They were loud as all get out. They were like the ones you would find at your grandparents house. If you look at them they creek and make noise. Anytime anyone would move in their sleep including my small children under 30 pounds the bed would creek, loudly, and wake everyone up. They were also the smallest queen size beds I think I have ever slept in. Other than the beds we really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay here again, just maybe with my queen size blow up mattress. read more

We had initially planned our stay at the Hyatt Clearwater however, our third party reservation site made an error in our reservations and less than 2 weeks prior to our departure we had to find a different place to stay. We reluctantly reserved this resort however, it proved to be the VERY BEST AND FRIENDLIEST place I've ever stayed on the gulf. The accommodations were 5 star. We stayed in the large 2 bedroom ocean view. There were 5 in our party and we could have slept at least one more person. The kitchen had everything we needed for our week long stay. We went the grocery store nearby upon our arrival and saved lots of money eating at the resort daily and going out at night. I have stayed in the Hyatt Clearwater previously but I have to say, I am thankful our original reservations got screwed up because I never would have found this little gem.
