This is the most relaxing, cozy, and friendly hotel I've ever stayed at. The rooms are amazing! We had the "basement" which was a 80s themed room with a working cassette player! The staff was so friendly and full of stories and recommendations to keep us busy while in town. It was nice being able to have coffee and read the local paper near the fire place. Breakfast was decent, the beds were comfy, and the grounds were very well maintained. This will always be my go to stay while in town! Can't recommend them enough! read more

Reed's is a very nice "classic" motor lodge, well restored and modernized just enough for comfort without ruining the vintage feel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, check-in was quick. Our rooms were both very comfortable, and everything worked fine. Nice shower, plenty of hot water, etc. The rooms were nicely but simply decorated, and spotless. Nothing fancy, but all the essentials are there. WiFi was fine, as was the A/C and small fridge in the room. The rate includes a simple breakfast - coffee, some breads, etc. - enough to get you launched in the morning anyway. The common areas are very nicely kept and decorated. We were only overnighting, but it looks like a great place to spend a couple of days. I would absolutely go back when in that area. read more

The room itself had been somewhat renovated but still not great. Bed was ok but pillows were half size and not comfortable. Shower was taped together at the bottom. Not a Kleenex box in sight. This hotel looks like a hole in the wall type hotel, but its really not. Nice, clean, large rooms. We brought our large dog and they were very accommodating. They have a small grassy area for the dogs. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of towels, extra bedding, very clean. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE. I'm just going to be completely honest and say it was disgusting.. To start the water damage/spots coming from the roof gave this horrible smell. The door wouldn't shut unless locked. The room was completely out dated.. It wasn't a old town vide it was just nasty. The chair legs were caked on with dirt, dust covered every surface in the room.. Nothing seemed wiped down in months. The bathroom... We didn't even use the shower because the dirt on the floor.. The toilet had poop stains in the bottom and mold, peep was on the floor next to the toilet.. The toilet would make this flushing sounds all night long... I WISH I could get our money back. We had to leave because it wasn't healthy for us let alone our 2 year old to stay there. Don't stay here! read more

If you are going to the Round Valley area, you are missing out if you dont stay at Reed's Lodge. The customer service is warm and inviting. The rooms are clean and very comfortable! We just stayed there last Thursday thru Saturday. The rooms were basic but we certainly enjoyed the microwave and refrigerator in the room. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not so good. The AC put out some nice cold air. You had to go to the office to get ice(which I dont get). It was close to all restaurants. Highly recommend Averys! We'd stay there again for sure. I represent the Veteran Riders and Friends - Arizona. A military veteran motorcycle riding group that makes an annual ride up AZ 191/666 the Devils Highway. I personally began using Reeds Lodge back in 2014 under the ownership of Roxanne Knight and her husband and as a group organizer I utilized the services of Reeds for over SEVEN years. This was because Roxanne and her husband were very cordial friendly folks who went out of their way to provide great customer service. The hotel has since been sold to Kelsey Rogers and customer service has literally gone in the crapper! At the end of each years event my group "reserves" rooms in advance for the next year which was the case in May-June 2020. On 2/19 /21, I called to re-confirm our planned ride dates of 4-7 June 2021. Then on 3/14/21 Due to a change in ownership, the upgrading of the lodge and rooms our nightly rates have increased and you must pay in full by 3/14/21 (Three months prior to check in) " WOW NOW SUDDENLY THE RATES HAVE BEEN INCREASED? Keep in mind I was given "WRITTEN CONFIRMATION" OF THE RATES THAT WERE ORIGINALY AGREED UPON BACK ON 2/21/21. To all reading this - please keep in mind that we booked well in advance, are repeat customers of over 7 years and typically booked out 85-90% of the available rooms! Basically, the new management of REEDS put me in a very crappy situation. They showed absolutely ZERO concern for past/repeat patrons and felt they could force our organization to arbitrarily pay higher costs of over a 53% INCREASE! Our event was planned well in advance, they provided confirmation letters of the original rates we had reserved at thinking we would have to "suck it up" and pay new rates that increased by 53% or be out on the street. . The ownership and management styles of the new owners and management at Reeds leave much to be desired in the way of customer service. THREE months trying to work with REEDS, THREE months ! We were Jerked around and treated poorly (basically trying to leverage more money out of us!) being told that a rate increase was necessary for reasons that had zero to do with me or my group of up to 80 persons! Bottom line is this REEDS IS NOT the customer friendly place it was under past management.. They only thought of their pocketbook, never mind that they have financially impacted an entire city. The hotel alone is now going to loose over EIGHT to TEN THOUSAND Dollars, the gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores are also at loss for THOUSANDS of dollars all because they chose to obviously be Greedy read more

We wound up spending the night in Springerville due to snowy driving conditions. Reed's Lodge got good ratings so we gave it a try and I'm happy we did. It has a cool retro vibe. I wish I could give this a 0 star. The hotel is absolutely disgusting. That bathroom has holes in the floors then shower doesn't have hot water. There was mold in the door frame. My child was laying in the bed and all of the sudden she jumped up and started crying. There were bed bugs. I will never go back here. read more

I've stayed here many times over the years, but my most recent stay was a bust. I was told the price increase was because they had renovated the rooms...not the one I got! Way off in a corner, away from my other group members rooms. The room was small and was no way recently renovated. Same old plumbing, flickering bathroom light, gross giant ceiling stain above the bed, grinding AC/heater, furniture trim hanging off.....no way renovated. Clean bathroom towels placed on a dirty shelf. I could here every door slam that occurred within five rooms, either direction.I think I'm done staying here. It's too bad. BEWARE, BED BUGS! Stayed there Thursday night before the UTV Jamboree and awoke Friday morning feeling very itchy with noticeable red bite marks on my body(thought they were mosquito bites at first). More proceeded to show up as time went by. Did the Hannagan Meadow trip Friday and Saturday and upon arriving back in Springerville I stopped back at Reed's to inform management about the condition of the room I stayed in(I also noticed that someone was occupying the room). I was pretty disappointed in their response. No offer of a refund, no mention of letting the current occupant know about what's in store for him after his nights sleep. I was asked if maybe I received the over 50 bites on my body while I was out in the bush riding. I grew up here and although I moved away I own a business locally. I come into town all the time. my prior visit was a week to the day where my family spent over $1,500 in this hotel. I knew the room I wanted. I was specific in the suite I wanted because I had my three teens with me on this trip. so I made a reservation for the suite I wanted. the person running the lobby was extremely rude. when I told her the room they gave me was not the suite I reserved. she became even more rude. I was told I was lying to they gave it to someone else. when I pointed out that 3 teens can not sleep comfortably on one bed I needed another room she got flustered and told me they had no more suites to accommodate me. I even heard her call me the b word after I turned to leave. I have never dealt with an employee so incredibly rude ever. when I went back down to the hotel and was trying to speak to the assistant manager the employee continued to be rude and disrupt me while I was talking to the manager. it was only then the manager decided to try and accommodate my family. unfortunately for them when I left the first time I went to another hotel who booked me right away. If reeds continues to allow their lobby person to treat their customers this way. then it's no longer worth staying there. read more

We're here in peak season and the place was not a bargain and if we had one of the rooms that was nicely renovated it would have been fine. We chose Reed's Lodge because it allowed dogs. We found a friendly couple running the place, happy to give information and advice on things to do nearby. Our room had an old-fashioned look (good) and did need some maintenance (not so good) but then it was $67 per night, a pretty good bargain. The motel had several sections. Ours was open to the street, a bit noisy until 9:00 or so, but no problem during the night. Another section opens onto a nice grassy area. Bottom line: we would go back. read more

I called about 2.5 hours before arriving and reserved a room. The lady I spoke with warned me of elk, prevalent along highway 60 this time of year. She was a font of historical knowledge regarding the highway and the area in general. Traveling by myself, my room cost about $45 (with the AAA discount). I only stayed for a few hours of sleep. It's certainly not the Ritz Carlton, but the bed was moderately comfortable and the room was warm and quiet. I stayed in the "Little Buckaroo" room featuring cute, presumably local art depicting adolescent cowboys and horses. The faucets were leaky, which is probably not ideal in the desert, but I would stay here again. read more

I've never before been motivated to post a review but feel obligated to warn travelers about Reed's Lodge. This place has no redeeming features except for a cozy check-in lounge. The rooms are disgustingly shabby, the extra blanket was full of holes, the window HVAC unit was so noisy, I had to turn it off to sleep despite the 25 degree F outside temperature. The bathroom sink was dirty, the toilet ran every few minutes, the very old rug was so dirty, I had to keep my shoes on. All of this for $100 a night. Shame on the owners! read more

We reserved our room from 7/4 thru 7/7. We were told by a representative of the hotel that (due to financial issues) we could pay 1/2 upon check in and the balance at the end of our stay. We were told this again on a 2nd call to verify this arrangement. We arrived to check in at 3:45 pm. We were told that check in was not until 4 (first time I have ever seen that!), but Melissa DID take our money (full payment though a different arrangement SHOULD have been noted on my reservation), DID give us a room key, DID tell us that we could not 'get' our room until 4:30 pm, as the room would not be clean until then. Melissa did tell us that there are 4 front desk attendants (and not one of them was available to assist with cleaning rooms on a holiday weekend????). From the moment that I walked into the lobby late at night, I knew I had picked the right place. The lobby and adjacent bookstore/museum/shop were something out of folklore. This isn't the kind of place where you expect a quick check-in and be on your way. As it turned out, I had a great 30 minute visit with Roxanne, the owner. The room was comfortable and even enjoyable. There was a small tv on the cabinent but I didn't feel like I needed one - I was just enjoying the ambiance of feeling like I was enjoying a different era. Do note: You need to bring your own shampoo. The A/C worked great too and I was sleeping like a baby in no time.
