By quaint I mean 6,500 square feet with enough pull-out couches to fit a small circus. The good: -Never ran out of hot water! -Almost every room had a flat screen TV. -I think the North Pole threw up in this house. Christmas trees EVERYWHERE. It was glorious. -Complete kitchen with everything a group on clowns could possibly need (pitchforks for s'mores, got'em) -Amenities galore, check the website. The bad: -I was expecting there to be snow and it was 60 degrees outside during the day. -One night I slept in the sun-room in the master bedroom and it got really hot in the morning...but I guess that's why they call it a sun-room. -Playing volleyball on the fake-grass area is tough because the ball kept going down the hill. -We didn't pack enough food so we had to hit up the nearby Safeway. Being able to take a 1 minute walk to lake and sit and watch a bald eagle and egrets dive for fish, and my sons being able to fish from the shore was an added perk. Loved the place. He was easygoing, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. We also contacted them at the last minute looking to book a ride. I'm sure squeezing us into the schedule wasn't the easiest thing to do, but they accommodated us anyway and were incredibly gracious about it. We really appreciated their flexibility. The scenery was beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. The ride took us through some amazing country with great views and a peaceful atmosphere that you just don't get to experience any other way. The horses were calm and easy to ride, and the entire experience felt safe and relaxed. If you're on the fence because you've never ridden before, don't be. We had a great time and would absolutely do it again. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended.

Positives: The mountain scenery was beautiful…read more The ceremony area with handmade benches and arch was breathtaking. The wedding coordinator, Michael, worked with our wedding planner from sun up to sun down for 3 days to make sure the day was perfect! We can't compliment Michael enough. Negatives: The Bunkhouse and Chalet had severe electrical problems. The home heater was not in working order. We were instructed to use the space heaters in each room. Only two heaters in each 12-bedroom bunkhouse could be plugged in or the breaker would short circuit. If the coffee pot (which overflowed and put grounds in the coffee) and toaster were plugged in, the breaker would short circuit. We made the owner aware of the issues in both houses. We were questioned over what we were plugging in. When we advised of the items being plugged in, we were told there was no way the breakers could have tripped and that there had never been a problem like this. After the event, I found a review from over a year ago, where another guest had advised of the same electrical problems. The Bunkhouse and Chalet floors were very dirty and also lacked a sufficient number of towels for the amount of people staying there. In the commercial kitchen the electrical breaker connected to the oven kept blowing a fuse. We used the grill in the commercial kitchen for the rehearsal dinner. My husband cleaned the grill in the kitchen including the grease trap that was not clean when we began cooking for over an hour. The next day he was told by the owner that he did not get it clean enough. Our food vendor for the wedding ceremony had difficulty cooking the meat due to the oven electrical issue as well. We washed all dishes used in the commercial kitchen even though within our package it stated staff would wash dishes. The banquet room was not cleaned and ready for us to use for the rehearsal dinner. Many things had to be moved and covered with linens. Our guests were asked to help spread gravel at the lodge as well as move a large grill which had caught on fire off the porch. Video was filmed and posted of guests including children, the wedding ceremony, the reception and décor without anyone's permission nor were vendors credited on the video. The Aspen Lodge has been asked to remove the video from their site. Due to a grill fire, there was not a grill available for our cookout at the lodge. We had to supply our own propane for the grill we used, which was located at the chalet far from the dinner space. None of the outdoor heaters had propane the first night we were there. Again, we had to hook up our own propane tank to one of the heaters. The owner finally brought one heater out for us to use that did have propane. He stated loudly in front of our 30 guests that we could use this heater tonight but if we wanted to use the heater at the wedding we would be paying more. We had already paid for use of the heaters in the $12,000 package. Heaters were provided at the wedding ceremony. TV and DVD do not work in either house. The decor that is provided within the package is very limited. Only rectangle tables are available. We were asked if we would donate our wedding light-up wands so the establishment could rent them to future customers.

Sleeping in #8, our room made us feel like king and queen! Breakfast, served promptly @ 8:30, consisted of coffee, juice, fluffy quiche, bacon, croissant, and fresh fruit. Conversation at the table with other guests was pleasant. Given the atmosphere & views from our room, the price point was very reasonable. We walked around the converted school for a few minutes once we checked out and saw even more photo ops atop the hill. Don't miss out!

Very well maintained and clean with many common foyer and gathering areas. There are six bedroom suites. I stayed in the Turquoise Room. I have stayed at old hotels before in Arizona, and this one is one of the best historic properties if looking for that Old Arizona Charm. Just stayed the night and it has been very comfortable and quiet. Noah has been an exceptional and very kind host. I will be back to this beautiful property. Will also plan to try the breakfast on my next stay in Globe, Arizona.

It was a very positive experience. Holly owns this huge historic house, and she renovated it. We met Holly but had more contact with Noa. Noa's partner is Holly's cousin. Each morning Noa cooked us delicious full breakfasts. The breakfasts had quiche/frittata/flatbread made with eggs and veggies. One day we also had blueberry muffins and English muffins. There was fresh fruit salad. The breakfasts more than enough to satisfy our appetites. Noa is an excellent creative cook. See attached photos. The first morning we had breakfast in a delightful breakfast room with windows on three sides. We looked out onto lovely lush vegetation. We had our choice of coffee or various kinds of tea. I loved sitting in this room. We would arrive early, drink coffee and read the newspaper before Noa arrived to make breakfast. The next morning we had breakfast at a very large wood dining room table that could easily have sat 20 people. This room had French doors that opened into a patio with tables and chairs. When we were there a small wedding party was taking photos on one of the outdoor patios. There are additional common spaces. There was a sitting room with chairs and books on the same ground floor as the sunny breakfast room, dining room, and kitchen. There is also a small lobby one floor up on street level next to the front door. (The building is on a hill). One afternoon we went back to the sunny cheerful breakfast room and sat there to read. The on-the-street parking is free, safe and easy to obtain. The bed and breakfast is very conveniently located on a quiet street on a small hill about two blocks from downtown. For dinner we walked to the restaurants downtown on the main street. We conveniently arrived on a First Friday of the month. There was a small celebration a couple blocks away on main street. There was a band in the afternoon or early evening (which we missed) and some craft vendors and at least one food vendor. We bought some cookies there. Every guest room in this bed and breakfast is different. Our room and my sister-in-law's room were on the second floor near eachother. There were two staircases to reach the second floor, and a quaint little sitting area in between. The decor in our room was cute. Our room had two comfortable double beds. One bed had a bedside table with a foot high reading lamp. Due to space limitations the other bed did not have a bedside table or bedside reading lamp. There was a small chandelier over that bed. The room had good lighting. However, I would have liked a bedside lamp so I could read at night without disturbing my husband. Our bathroom was huge. It had both a shower and a claw foot tub. There was a sink in the bathroom and another small sink in the bedroom. We used the tub for storage. During our visit there was no ice available that I could find. The kitchen fridge had a water dispenser but the ice dispenser was broken when we visited. An appliance repair person was planned. Our room and my sister-in-law's room had individual wall air conditioners. We had the Amethyst room. We put a few sodas in the kitchen refrigerator since our room did not have a mini fridge. Management did not complain that we took up a little space in that fridge. When we eventually return to Globe, I would like to stay here.
