I'll preface this review by saying prior to coming here, I'd never worked out before. I get intimidated when I have to do something new and I was nervous that I would get judged for my lack of strength/knowledge. That was FAR from the case. I took the ABC class which was challenging, but doable even for a complete newb. Luci, the coach, introduced herself to me and kept an eye on me to make sure my form was correct. She allowed me to modify and start slow/light until I got comfortable. She was so encouraging that even before that first class ended, I knew I'd return. Each coach has their own style, but they are all fantastic! The other members here are also really friendly. You can tell there's a real sense of community here. Yumi, the owner, bakes cookies for everyone during the holidays! The best part of this gym is that they are dog-friendly! My dog is too scared of all the gym equipment for me to bring her, but I love seeing all the dogs here and cuddling them. It's the best! read more

Jesus is the greatest trainer! It was my first time at the ReebokLab classes and Jesus showed me so many ways to modify my exercises to my current fitness level. I'm not in great shape but I felt like I was bc he had me finishing the whole class, which I could not believe I could do. Literally no judgement from him just inspiration and answers so I could do this thing. read more

After a month and a half at LAB and as a former CrossFit Gym owner of 9 years, I can confidently say that this gym is hands-down one of the best run, best owned, best programmed, best coached, best cared for gyms, I've ever had the pleasure of attending. Yumi runs a tight, disciplined, organized, fitness-delivering box with top-notch, well-trained coaches who care and clearly love what they do. The community reminds me of the old days of CrossFit - everyone is friendly, engaged, and happy to be there. Most of all, I've witnessed nothing but a culture of support that makes all feel welcome - and that rolls from the top down. I know from experience that if you're new to CrossFit, (Functional Fitness) feeling intimidated by the thought, have wanted to start but can't quite get there, etc. - walking through the door is the hardest part. I'm here to tell you - stow those false beliefs and walk through this door - this is the place. For me this has been a rough, humbling, comeback, but it's felt like blast. It's been a while since I had to force myself into taking rest days, but here we are. A love I had lost has returned. OH - and if you have a dog, they will be even more welcome, which says everything that needs to be said about this epic gym; IFKYK. read more

Normally I don't write reviews this quickly but I already know that my opinion of Reebok LAB is set in stone. I reached out to Yumi after mine and my boyfriend's gym, Basecamp Fitness, closed permanently due to Covid. We were heartbroken, as Basecamp was our family for many years. We knew we needed a new gym in walking distance and had a few options. I had tried Crossfit a few years back at a place in Hollywood but stopped going due to the drive. I had been wanting to try Reebok LAB for a few years and figured what better time to do so. One of the things I really liked about Reebok LAB is that they start you off with 3 foundations classes. This wasn't the case at the last CF box I went to and really made transitioning to regular classes MUCH easier. We took our foundations classes with Greg who was wonderful and very patient. I'm more advanced when it comes to fitness but my boyfriend is not. He was a bit intimidated by CF like most newbies probably are but Greg made the introduction stress-free. Big thanks to Greg for this! Classes are a bit different right now due to Covid. Classes are limited to around 10 people and held mostly outside. Everything is cleaned and sanitized constantly and everyone is spaced out so that it's comfortable, especially for those concerned about social distancing. My boyfriend and I finished our foundation classes last weekend and started regular classes this week and we are HOOKED! The coaches are great but not intimidating and we love the fact that they really focus on form (something that was lacking at our old gym). Everyone we've met is very welcoming and friendly and we leave each class eagerly anticipating the next one. While it was heartbreaking to lose our old gym, we are so happy to have found a new family with Reebok LAB! read more

There a million places to do CrossFit in LA, but this is the only one you should be working out at! It's a great place. I was new to CrossFit and they welcomed me completely, showing me the ropes. Strangers became friends, friends became chosen family. Honestly, such a high bar was raised, pun intended, and you're really spoiled here. Yumi is beyond one of a kind. She is strict, but she is fair! Truly an angel. The coaches (Chris, Gunther, LUCI) are all very accommodating and take time to notice your personal strengths and weaknesses, encouraging you along the way. I moved to Las Vegas and cry into my pillow occasionally that I can't work out there on the regular anymore, but I will always stop by on visits and if/when I move back to LA, this will remain my spot. If you're looking for a new box or are just getting into CrossFit, do yourself a favor and check it out. read more

I had an awesome time at the class this morning (post covid, indoors, no masks, no restrictions). Coach Greg was a real pro.  Managed an hour loaded with work like a champ and gave clear instruction and individual attention to everyone. The facility is world class, clean and motivating in its layout and design. The members were cool and welcoming. No egos at play. Just play. Its been over a year since I was in a class and frankly, I'm all fired up about it.  Fantastic experience! I'll be back a bunch in the future. read more

I've been crossfitting for about a year and a half, at a different box (which I love) that is 3 blocks away from my apartment. This box is about 10 min away from me, but I dropped in last night, as I was eagerly awaiting the opening of this new box. The space is huge and all the equipment is new and shiny... But for those of you new to crossfit, the most important thing you need to know when choosing a box is that none of that matters. The only thing that makes a box good or bad is the quality of the coaching (the quality of the members is probably my second criteria, but given the personality of the coaches, I am sure they will attract lovely members as well). All those terrible injuries you hear about in crossfit come from boxes where coaches are under-trained or easily distracted. The coaches running the show here are top notch (literally trainers to star athletes and performers of all kinds), meaning they are smart, amazing teachers, and too much fun! They have seriously impressive training backgrounds that go so much deeper than just their crossfit certifications. Even though I've been squatting (I LOVE squats) for a year and a half, and fancy myself quite decent at it, I learned 2 HUGE takeaways from my class with Ron Mathews last night that totally blew my mind and I am certain will lead to bigger numbers for me! If you are considering this box at all as your new gym to call home, don't hesitate! I myself can't wait to go back and help them dirty up their brand new box some more! read more

This is a great place to work out. What sets it apart from the other crossfit boxes in the area is the focus on correct form. The instructors emphasize form over all else. All of the staff is incredibly friendly and encouraging. Another plus Reebok has going for it is the large space. You don't feel crammed in like cattle. read more

So far I have only taken the EFx classes which is endurance training taught by Rush and everytime I've gotten butt kicked! Be ready to run on the treadmill but it's timed for max results. I have never in my life ran 10mph but with persuasion for 15 seconds I can finally say I did it. This place is huge, free parking, towel service and friendly staff. I wished they offered more EFx classes but this is a Crossfit gym and they only offer their endurance classes on classpass. In the wise words of our former governor, "I'll be back." read more

You know that scene in THG when Katniss is heading up into the arena and all you hear is the gentle whir of the elevator, your eyes lock onto hers onscreen and both of you are fearful for what is to come? Yes? Well - as I dutifully punched my incline up to 15% and set my speed up to 9.0, the gentle purr of the treadie's belt became audible as there was a lull btwn Bae and Get Low remixes, my own baby blues met my reflection in the mirror and I can only tell you that while I wasn't going into a free-for-all blood bath, I was afraid. Much of my knowledge of XFit comes from die-hard paleo prosthelytizers...and while I can get on board with many things, a lifestyle without bread and an exercise class with a high over/under of developing light rhabdo gives me pause. Weird, right? However, as my instructor, Rush (who, sidenote, has the most gorg quads I've ever seen IRL) walked us through the floor exercises and I looked around the studio and realized there was nary a kettlebell in sight, I was calmed. These Endurance XFit classes, with their sprints/runs at various inclines, bodyweight/dumbbell exercises (squats, presses, curls), and ab exercises for days are really more like any other bougie cardio/weights adventure you might strut your lulu into rather than the agro cult thing I generally associate XFit with. Fairly friendly crowd, by in large reflective of surrounding WeHo - I was one of two women in the class - that said, it's not an intimidating scene - though, I guess if I was trying to cruise and didn't have a body like adonis, maybe I'd find the handsomeness of the patrons intimidating? Unclear. I went with ClassPass, but it looks like a single drop in class is $25 and I'm sure they have packages available if you want to go hard. Actual equipment could be fresher - my yoga mat was a bit like a washed up party girl for my taste - but by in large it's clean. Wouldn't have minded more 1-on-1 correction abt postures, but on the whole the drills required minimal jazzercise-type coordination and I felt like I was given clear instructions, making the class easy to follow. Bonus points for having two dogs on the premises. Overall, I can't speak to the normal XFit classes, but will return when I need to sweat from every inch of my body, knowing that EFx will make it rain. read more

If you're reading this- you're probably aware that there are a thousand different places to work out in LA. On top of that, there are hundreds of thousands of trainers. I've never really been a mathematician, but I live for a good sweat with a knowledgeable and inspiring instructor. There's a few master trainers in Los Angeles. Astrid at Barry's Bootcamp, obviously. Nichelle at Cycle House, for example. I mention them because they set the standard for the best trainers in LA. With gratitude I mention that this CrossFit lab has one of their own elite trainers to add to the mix. Rush Kemp is the answer to your Crossfit needs. His work outs fly by, they're always interesting and exciting and his taste in music is unmatched. I consistently feel pushed, he has excellent attention to form, but most importantly- his work outs are fun. Results guaranteed! Plus he's real handsome There also always seem to be dogs in this place- so that's cool too. Anyway stop wasting time reading reviews and schedule a class with RUSH read more

Go the opportunity to train here during an afternoon class with Ron Mathews and it was awesome. Small class size and a lot of personal attention. I've only been involved in CrossFit for a few months, so I picked up some great pointers on squat form that Ron helped me with during the class. Everyone was super nice and the workout was tough! Is the drop-in rate expensive? For sure, but it's West Hollywood and real estate and overhead aren't cheap and it was totally worth it to me! I only found out after I got home when I googled the super-helpful coach that I had, that Ron won the 2016 CrossFit Games in his Masters Division age group and is a trainer to Hollywood stars! After reading about him, I was surprised at his lack of ego, humility and kindness. Will definitely train here again when I'm back in town! Thanks, Ron! read more

Beautiful and clean box in the heart of West Hollywood. We have Yumi as our coach and what a great coach she was. Very friendly and welcoming members as we were drop ins. Thanks for the great workout! read more

Visited while on vacation. Great facility. Visiting fee is way too much. It's not the friendliest place: There's a check in desk, and it's best to sign up on their site first so you don't get the sneer by the host. Coach Yumi yells for the sake of yelling. I didn't feel encouraged. I also broke a rule: don't step on the rubber floor area when there's another class (even though the students are far out of the away...ok fine...good to know. You've been warned Yelpers.) I travel a lot and have been doing CrossFit for several years before there were tons of boxes out there. There are two kinds of Crossfits: low key friendly, encouraging ones. And ones that have a military vibe. It was the latter on this particular day. Upshot: if you're travelling and you need a workout, put that stuff on ignore and get your work out done. read more

I love the gym! Yumi and Ron are amazing people and truly make everyone feel so welcomed. I and not a crossfit person, I was a very very beginner (like first class ever kind of beginner). They made me feel comfortable, welcomed and were sure to answer any questions I had as well as demonstrate thing further if I needed. If you're wanting to give crossfit a try go here, you won't be disappointed (or injured most importantly, everyone there knows their stuff). read more

I was able to walk in there and be 100% comfortable doing my best workout I could do with not having stepped foot in a gym in over a year and set aside my anxiety of intimidation from gyms which I have only be able to do when I was working weekly with a trainer or at the gym I managed. It felt like a good fit and I look forward to more. read more

I have been going to this gym for about a year and I am completely hooked. I was a little apprehensive at first and did not want to join the crossfit craze. But what I found is a gym (fine, a box) where there is a huge emphasis on the training part and proper form. The trainers are awesome, especially Yumi, who really gives you a taste of what top-notch coaching is like. With focused and intense training, I find myself never wanting to go back to a regular gym and waste my time. Plus, I also enjoy the other, non-crossfit, classes there such as the endurance class. So in summary, yes it's expensive but I am in the best shape of my life and I would not trade the experience for any other. read more

Was visiting, this place was so friendly! I also had such a great time in the stretching class afterward. Sterling was a very enthusiastic coach and Scarlett was amazing instructing the stretching class afterwards. If I lived in LA, I would definitely want to go to this box. read more

There are not enough superlatives to use for Reebok Crossfit Lab. I joined one month ago and began taking classes and committed to Crossfit's 30 day paleo challenge. In 30 days I lost 14 pounds and my body fat percentage dropped over 6%. Prior to joining Crossfit, I was struggling to lose 15 pounds that I gained over the last year and a half. I could not lose a pound and I chalked it up to an unlucky change in metabolism. Clearly I was wrong. The staff is fantastic all around. Yumi, Ron and PJ are attentive and make sure you're using proper form. They encourage you to work hard, and they're a pleasure to be around. All of the other staff follows suit. They're very warm, welcoming and provide excellent support to the team. The level of fitness of many of your fellow Crossfitters can be intimidating at first, but truly, you work to your own level of ability. I'm often one of the last people to finish a given workout and while it can be frustrating at moments, I remind myself that strength is built through routine and practice and not overnight. So do not be intimidated to try a class here. Be inspired by the hard work and dedication of the fit specimens around you! So grateful I made the decision to come here! read more

Five stars! Great trainers and coaches. Clean and friendly environment. Helpful for beginners. Will definitely be back.

First off I wanted to say I've been a fitness professional for over 10 years and amateur, professional athlete nearly my whole life. Regardless, I am an athlete: and no matter how many certs, clients, or years I continue to tick off, I remain an athlete first. I've been to other boxes and am a massive fan of crossfit but also despise certain parts of crossfit. I'm a mix of opinion on it. To cut to the chase, the aloha vibe was obvious Yumi and PJ showed themselves to be credible and very gracious in their demeanor. Coaching was clear and form trumped capacity and volume. Brilliant. None of the ego bullshvt and condescending vibe I see frequently in the other spots I train at. Very cool. Crossfit will live and die by the people who facilitate it, the coaches. As a coach myself I never remove myself from learning something to engage my athletes and clients better. However I also consider myself a fair barometer of it by my experience. They're on it. I literally couldn't live any further from Crossfit LAB and have 4 others far closer one walking distance. If I elect to take my WOD'S and training to a box/facility it will be here. 45 minutes of traffic and stress, still worth it. Facility is excellent, parking tight (its weho) but they have their own on site. Thank you LAB crew look forward to returning soon... Dylan read more

Excellent gym. A tough workout given by the owner Yumi. I love the gym and the staff. Lots of pull up bars, kettle bells ropes and rings. Inspiring read more

Was looking for a box to join while working in West Hollywood for two months and hit the jackpot with the Reebok LAB. I was able to get a student discount on the monthly rate, which was huge since a lot of other gyms in the area don't offer one. The facility is gorgeous and the programming is top notch, but what really makes this place stand out are the people. The main coaches I worked with were Cortni, Sterling, and Yumi, and they were absolutely incredible. Great at explaining the subtle techniques involved with some of the fundamental moves and they were able to push me without compromising my form or safety. The LABletes (aka members) were incredibly welcoming and super friendly, and you can tell this place is a very tight knit community. Overall I can't recommend this gym enough - if you are looking for a Crossfit box in the LA area, check this place out! read more

Took the EFX class here a few weeks ago through ClassPass. Awesome workout and the trAiner was great. Love the structure of the class, with all the workout details written up on the board prior to the start of the class. Will definitely be back! read more

Terrific gym! I had to scale a few of my workouts due to bad knees, and the coaches were very accommodating. They're also very engaged, giving you small tips to help you get the most out of your workout. I've done CrossFit before, but it wasn't until I joined this gym that I realized I'd been doing a few of the exercises improperly. Community is very friendly. read more

I was in town for work and had to get my crossfit fix. It's an awesome facility first off - plenty of great equipment. The people are also cool and good natured. The female coaches that I had were both great - sorry, I forgot one of their names, but Yumi is awesome! I PR-ed my push press with her help! Can I steal you??? Big love :) read more

Dropped in for a 9 AM CrossFit class on Sunday while visiting LA. The coach Yumi led a terrific and motivating class. Class was full so was glad I signed up in advance. Definitely would recommend to others while visiting LA and will be coming back!! read more

Traveling for work weekly requires me to visit different box's often. Even though I miss my home box, it's always cool to check out how others operate. I've seen some great spots, but also some not so great, which includes the Reebok CrossFit Lab. I had high expectations, especially after the warm welcome at the desk and introductions. However, the coach Yumi was quite a disappointment. The yelling, poor communication skills, and fake demeanor was enough to put me off to check out a different box the second night of my stay. Don't let the "Reebok" affiliation throw you off, not even worth it. Check out Brick down the street for a quality experience. read more

By far the nicest box I have seen - clean, nice people, awesome trainer and easy drop in. I am from Germany so I contacted Rush (GM) beforehand to arrange drop-in - very easy process and welcoming atmosphere. Parking is free, drop in was only 25 USD... nothing more to add really :) - thanks for having me! read more

Great facility - clean, well maintained, everything looks new. People are friendly. Awesome coaching, especially Yumi and Ron!

Great place, great people, amazing trainers! Thanks Yumi and Ron for running such fantastic box!

One of the best CF gyms I've dropped into. Top notch coaching and lots of attention was paid to me.

I was VERY disappointed in this place! My daughter took classes for over a year at this facility. I was charged for classes she did not attend or was signed up for. I left 3 phone messages, they did not return my calls. An email also went unanswered, very rude and deceptive business practices. After my daughter being in classes for over a year I would expect better treatment. I will find another place for my ten-year-old to take classes with her friends and work out, no need to give them my business. read more
