It can be intimidating when you start, but I promise you, everyone here is sooo nice. I am here most days out of the week. Think of this like a second family. When you need to escape reality, come here. boxing has ultimately helped me both physically and mentally sooo much and it wouldn't have been without the help of my friend Sam who pushed me to start. The workouts are always amazing. You feel so renergized after ! The music while working out is always a good time! The workout is split into 4 circuits, so you aren't just boxing the entire time, you lift weights, get your cardio in, all while focusing on technique, your speed, etc. Thank you everyone at Trinity, especially Coach Josh and Nikole who are practically my parents. If you are looking to getting into boxing, Trinity is the place to do it! Don't go anywhere else, I promise you ... it's not as good... I'm saying this from experience lol. Prevail Boxing - Come to BOX class! Controlled partner work allows you to drill specific moves to level up your skill set.

Prevail Boxing

TLDR: Love the gym, coaches, staff, & community. 10/10…read more I walked into Prevail in 2017, and 9 years (and 1,324 classes as of this morning) later, I'm still showing up. I am leaving Los Angeles for the UK next spring, and honestly, one of the biggest things I am going to miss is coming to Prevail. Second might be a proper breakfast burrito and taco trucks, but first is definitely Prevail. Prevail is a great way to start your day, or end it if it's been a particularly stressful one. Before class, you're chatting with the friends you've made, and after class begins you're only thinking about the minute you are in. Anything you were worried about disappears because you can only focus on the present. And when things finally start to click for you on a specific punch, counter, defense, or footwork move... Or when you used to grab your knees desperate for air but now you can knock out 20 burpees in a minute... That's the dopamine hit you're looking for. VIBES Prevail is great for first-timers or returning champions. The front desk staff always welcomes you when you walk in, and if you're new, they will get you set-up and make sure you're not just tossed into the deep end. The coaches all have their unique style, but they always bring fun, energy, and experience to every class. They're never impatient with you if you're not doing something quite right, or aggressively shouting at you to do more. There has never been a coach I have not liked, or more accurately, I love 'em all. ;-) The community of members is a wide range of ages, fitness levels, and boxing experience. But aside from all that, it's basically a big group of cool folks. And there's definitely no toxic bro vibe. No one is judging what you can or can't do. Everyone is super supportive of each other. I've actually made quite a few friends that I've seen outside of class. (Or in typical LA fashion, we've exchanged numbers with the intent to hang out but then never do. But that's on us, not the gym. ) CLASSES SWEAT classes focus on pushing you physically (it's called "SWEAT" for a reason) but also give you a chance to work combinations on the heavy bag and mitt work with the coaches (and sometimes other gym members will jump in and mitt so everyone gets more mitt time). And the coaches are always trying to find ways to keep the classes fresh since it would be easy to just put them on auto-pilot. BOX classes have a mix of technique and fitness with a focus on fundamentals. There is a big picture intention behind the structure and path of the classes that goes beyond a single day class. That said, you can show up on any day to get to work without having been to any of the previous classes. BOX classes definitely give you the opportunity to elevate your skill level. SPAR is where you can truly work on your technique, but you will also be working hard. You will need headgear, cup, and mouthpiece. I know some gyms are a free-for-all, but Prevail fosters a collaborative and safer vibe. The coaches will tell you that you are not trying to win a fight or hurt your partner. You are both trying to get better. They will also remind you that it is up to you to communicate with your partner on the intensity you want to work at. ***** If you're looking for a new way to get in shape, build confidence, and make friends while you do it, come check out Prevail. P.S. I sometimes mitt Lolo's Friday 8am class, so say hi to the gray-haired, sweaty guy holding the mitts for you.

Sweat classes are my favorite but recently started going to S&C for some toning and am really enjoying both. Also, do privates with Lolo and there is no one better, never thought I'd be able to box and even be somewhat ok at it but his expertise has made all the difference!! Really, really great people who welcome you in, there's no need to feel intimidated there, it's just positive energy! Five out of five, couldn't recommend this gym more!!!!

Update, now that I've been going to this gym somewhere around 7 months:…read more This place is stellar!! Great vibes and the staff are so helpful, friendly, and encouraging. Before coming here, I was never really consistent about going to a gym and when I did, I was nervous because I had no idea what I was doing beyond the very basics. Now that has all changed. Ivan is a fantastic trainer. He has helped me so, so much in my ongoing recovery from ACL surgery as well as my overall strength and fitness. For the first time ever, I really look forward to going to the gym due to my progress and results. He has played a huge part in helping me build confidence in working out and a love for the gym. I was going for a PR today and Ramiro (general manager) stopped what he was doing to cheer me on, then flagged when I was loosing form and corrected me to make sure I can train safely. That's the kind of people who run this place - they really care. I'd give this gym (and Ivan as a trainer) 10 stars if I could!

The bathroom had Drybar hair dryers and stocked with hair ties and tampons. This place is TREN-DY. This was my first ever Rumble class. The person who checked me in told me how it worked. You get assigned a numbered work out bench/bag and then switch throughout the class, always using the same numbered work out bench and bag. Unfortunately, they didn't tell me the bags were all mixed up (not in order) and it'd be difficult to find in the dark. I also didn't notice the little arrow on the floor indicating where I should be standing until someone pointed it out to me. I think the staff here could've done a better job at explaining this to a first-timer. I took Kristina's class and she is AWESOME! I love a girl who cusses and boy, did she deliver. She was super high energy and funny while also motivating everyone to move their butts. The class moves very quickly - you don't even have time to hate yourself! All in all, a great work out.

I had a pair of boxing gloves and boxing wraps from a while back, so all I had to do was drive myself down here on the first day of the year. Check-in was effortless, and a staff member even gave me a quick tour of the lobby. Once the gym floor was sanitized, I went in and found my bench. Two groups were formed, and the ones at the benches started on floor exercises then switched to the punching bag on three rotations within 45 minutes. With the playlist pumping bangers, I definitely pushed myself and burned around 400 calories. Dillion did a good job with getting everyone motivated. Kinda wished he'd walk around and give more targeted feedback rather than staying at the center, though I guess the counterargument might be the music would obscure anything that's said. Floor exercises were intense but nothing too unfamiliar, such as crunches with dumbbell punches, V-sits, burpees, and planks. Punching the water-filled bag felt odd, and that feeling lingered even as I slowly got the hang of it. Overall, the class felt like a productive way to start the year.

5/5 : Today was my 3rd class at BoxUnion and I'm loving it!…read moreI first tried it through a ClassPass trial. Parking is easy with validation (1 hr 15 mins) in the structure... just don't go over or you'll lose it. Street parking works too if you're early. When you arrive, you will need to check-in. There's always been different receptionists each time and they have been kind. There are small lockers at check-in, and large mirrors, showers, hair ties, lotion, shaving cream, q-tips, and a hair dryer in the restroom. Our instructor, Omar, is very personable and makes newcomers feel welcome. He announced he now only teaches BoxUnion Burn (1 Hr) at 10:45 AM on Saturdays. I was nervous at first, especially seeing the dark room, LED lights, and loud music. I get overstimulated easily, but they offer ear plugs and I liked how spacious it was. You'll need to rent gloves and wraps ($10-15 each) unless you bring your own. After my first class, I invested in them and a ClassPass membership (they have their own too) since I only come once a week and don't live nearby. The class includes punching combos, HIIT, ab work, and freestyle. Omar took the time to correct my form. Highly recommend stretching beforehand. Haven't tried other instructors, but if you prefer focusing on form, ask if any trainers offer personal sessions. I highly recommend this class if traditional gyms aren't your thing or you just want to hit something for funzies :b! Side note: I have personal beef with the trash can at the women's restroom exit... that flap + photo credit to my sister who's been here longer.

The gym is compact yet state of the art and immaculate with a great ring and weight training equipment that's meticulously cared for; and in every class I've attended not only the coach but the other students are friendly and welcoming. The classes are tough as hell, I sweat so much that I'm amazed I have any water left in my body afterward; but I keep coming back so it seems to be somewhat addictive. :) A friend highly recommended this gym when I decided to explore boxing, and my original intent was to shop around and try out several local gyms; Members Only was intended as the first.
