Cardio equipment
Eva Y.

I can't recommend HVY enough! A good varied selection of equipment, from the latest training and cardio machines all the way to recovery devices (to get into your muscle knots after) are available to use under the guidance of your personal trainer. There is no overcrowding or abuse of equipment due to the results-driven staff and clientele and the gym is ALWAYS clean. There are four private use bathrooms with one equipped with a shower and products for you to wash and go after an intense workout. There are also various beverages available for purchase at the front desk. I have been working out at HVY for a bit over a year, training with the goal of losing weight and getting stronger. My trainer Ryan is great and keeps me focused on my body goals and gives me confidence to use the gym on my own. The owner and the rest of the trainers at HVY all have amazing professionalism mixed with great humor and warmth. Train here, you won't regret it!

The first thing I noticed about this new gym popping up in my neighborhood last year was the amazing mural art painted on the outside of the building. Eventually I walked in to check it out. I was instantly impressed by all the new equipment and how clean everything was! The staff were super friendly and quickly showed me around and offered me a 1 on 1 meeting to discuss my options and goals etc. I signed up for a 10 session package with Jenni (trainer) to try it out. I have now been training with Jenni at HVY for over a year. She is the best! So knowledgeable and friendly and very enthusiastic. She is also very organized and tracks every single thing we do on her iPad. Which is nice because then I don't have to do it :) Our workouts are always fun and constantly changing to keep them fresh. It's perfect for me. I have learned so much about stretching and getting the most out of my body too. Things I wasn't exactly expecting when I signed up, but now appreciate and work on constantly. I have a pretty crazy schedule for work (with a lot of last minute travel) and Jenni is always flexible and makes time for my sessions. She even writes me up workouts to do while I'm on the road (at hotel gyms) so I stay on track. I have also started doing some boxing sessions with Jordan who is equally awesome! Very knowledgable, enthusiastic and nice. He actually had been giving me a few boxing tips for free for months before we finally trained together, which was very generous and appreciated. I'm big on personal relationships, so small things like that go a long way with me. I now go in to box a few days a week. I love the setup in the back room with the various bags and a small ring. It's perfect for me to just go in and pop in my headphones and hit the heavy bag for 12 rounds :) I also love using all the recovery tools like the Hypervolt rollers/massage guns and the Normatec pants. These are things other gyms simply don't offer! Now when I walk into HVY I feel like I'm just hanging out with friends. From Ryan and I making fun of each other to Josh always with a smile and hello and of course Jenni and Jordan being their usual awesome selves. Overall I've been going to gyms all over the world for 20 years and this is the best gym I have ever trained at hands down! Can't recommend it enough! Come by and check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Me and Francisco.

I have been a member for LA Fitness for a while and I was looking to take my training to the next level. This gym interested me because of the personal training programs they had available. Upon my first visit Francisco was very helpful, taking the time to show me around the gym, explaining all the equipment and amenities. We sat down 1 on 1 and he explained to me the different types of training programs available and recommended me a trainer to use. I had my first training session with Hannah today. She was very enthutiastic and helpful and I learned some new types of stretches, elastic band exercise, and free weight routines. She was able to correct issues in my form and give suggestions for the future. I was happy with how easy to get along with she was and the quality of tips she had to offer. I look forward to coming to train here more in thn future!

Chambers and I feelin the good vibes!
Billie L.

HVY Industry and my personal trainer Ryan Chambers have been a dream come true for me. Finding the right gym with good vibes to call home is hard. With so many dirty low vibrational gyms throughout LA, I really love how clean HVY is. The major difference is people actually care at HVY. I always feel supported by the staff and other trainers. You know you've found the perfect gym when you leave stronger but still feel lighter and happier than before. Vibe is everything. Thank you team HVY. I appreciate you.

Ask the Community - HVY Industry

To be honest, I don't think I know how to workout out properly. Also, I am not in the best shape right now. Are there classes/packages for someone like me, who is hoping to learn how to workout?

From my experience, if you want to engage a trainer, HVY is as good as it gets. I recommend David Scott; all are good.

Hi, I was wondering what kind of packages are available and how long each training session is?

Hey Janice! There are so many options! We have, weight loss/weight gain programs, corrective exercise coaches, post rehab instructors, nutrition counselors, and boxing/self defense trainers - to name a few. Sessions can range from 30-50 minutes.…

It is in two office buildings, with a premium on floor spaces, so no pool is understandable. Although I have been to Washington DC, where another LA Fitness is in an office building. That one has a pool and jacuzzi, so it is what it is. Be grateful to have a LA Fitness in the mid Wilshire district. In my home area, Puente Hill North the only club we have left is Diamond Bar, and that club is not pretty. Back to the Wilshire club it has everything else beside the pool and jacuzzi. I think that it does not have a steam room as well. However, it is ok. I simply go to this club to hang out while I wait for LACMA open, so no complaint on my part. Ray out.

One thing that has really been bothering me, is them having workers clean the locker room/sauna when guests are around. The harsh chemicals they use make the smell unbearable, and hurt my eyes. They also take over showers and bathrooms and the sauna. My question which I've posed to the manager, is why can't they clean when guests are not around? Like right when they open or before they close? Or better yet, like every other establishment, have cleaning happen 30min before opening and 30min after closing. It's really ridiculous and inconvenient. Especially for those of us who have to go straight to work after.

This location is poorly managed. Multiple management changes and staff. I was in a severe car accident. I could not walk for 3 months. During my recovery, my physical therapist instructed me to use a balance board. I went to ask the staff to help. 15 minutes later, went back to the staff member who said they forgot and told me to go into an empty room - that corporate had been there the day before and put it in the empty room. I went in to get the board per their instruction. The fitness manager was in there. She is beyond rude in her demeanor, was stalking me, speaking negatively about me to her class. Dangerous behavior - spreading hate. The front desk person told me to "watch my back" because the fitness manager "has it out for you". She also told me to get heavier weights when I was in need of the lightest weights possible, negligent as a fitness manager. I told the manager I did not know why she was hyperfocused on me. She continued to hyperfocus on me. Wellness is not supported here. It is "marketing". - During the LA fires, they let friends and family in. I'm writing this review on 10/13/2026 because I believe it's important to share my experience, especially as a new member. On 10/8, Michael texted me saying that my fitness assessment needed to be completed ASAP, that it was a required step for my new membership, and that if it remained incomplete, my account would continue to be flagged until it was updated. He then asked when I would next be coming in so we could "take care of this??" My concern was how this requirement was presented to me. He told me the assessment was required and that my account would continue to be flagged if I didn't complete it. Naturally, I wanted to know what that meant. What happens when an account is flagged? Are there consequences? Does it affect my membership status or my ability to access the gym? These are reasonable questions for a new member to have when an employee says something is required and warns them about an issue with their account. When I asked for clarification, Michael responded, "It's the fitness assessment but it is required at this location because it's health and fitness overall." I took him at his word that this was a mandatory requirement. However, he still hadn't explained what being flagged actually meant or what the consequences of not completing the assessment would be. When I continued trying to understand the situation, he responded, "Look if you don't want to do it just say so." This response was completely unnecessary. I had never said I didn't want to do the assessment. I wasn't refusing to cooperate or being disrespectful. I was simply asking questions about something he had presented as a requirement of my membership. Instead of answering my questions, he assumed I was unwilling to do it and responded as though I was being difficult. I understand the benefits of a fitness assessment, but that was never my issue. Michael presented it as mandatory and said my account would continue to be flagged without explaining what that actually meant or what consequences, if any, I would face. I was simply asking for clarification. When I expressed that I didn't appreciate his tone and told him I would be contacting the gym, Michael responded, "Enjoy. Literally told you we do this with all new clients and members just not sure why you are getting upset by it." He then continued explaining that all new members complete a health and fitness assessment so the training department can help optimize their goals and get them there faster. He also questioned why I found the situation to be a weird concept. Again, this completely missed the point. I wasn't questioning whether fitness assessments could be beneficial. I was asking what the requirement he had presented to me actually meant and what would happen if my account continued to be flagged. Explaining the benefits of an assessment does not answer those questions. What particularly bothered me was that Michael seemed more interested in defending himself and questioning my reaction than in addressing my concerns. Rather than recognizing that his original message had left an important question unanswered, he became increasingly dismissive and confrontational. His responses made an already uncomfortable interaction worse. I do want to recognize Brandon, a manager at this location. I spoke with him about the situation, and he was extremely helpful and understanding. He listened to my concerns and heard me out, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, my interaction with Michael left such a negative first impression that it made me reconsider continuing my membership. I have attached screenshots of my text message exchange with Michael to this review so prospective members and management can read the actual messages and judge the interaction for themselves. I've numbered the screenshots to make them easier to follow and keep the conversation in order. I believe providing the original messages is important because they show the context of my concerns and why I found his responses inappropriate. Overall, this has been a disappointing experience so soon after joining. I hope management takes the situation seriously and addresses the communication issues involved. Customers should be able to ask reasonable questions about their memberships without being met with sarcasm, defensiveness, or dismissive comments.

At approximately 1 a.m., I arrived with my partner to work out. An employee who identified himself as Adrian approached our check-in with a condescending tone and an attitude that made us feel unwelcome before we even entered the facility. My membership includes guest privileges. When he explained that my partner needed to complete a waiver, we complied without objection. There was no issue with following the policy. There was an issue with how he spoke to us, how he handled the interaction, and a delay that felt unnecessary. What made the experience particularly troubling was observing him speak to another member in a noticeably softer, more respectful manner while addressing me with what I experienced as irritation and aggression. As an African American member, that difference raised a serious concern about equal treatment. I cannot know what motivated his behavior, but I know how we were treated and how unwelcome it made us feel. My partner no longer even wanted to come inside. I chose EŌS over 24 Hour Fitness, Anytime Fitness, and Gold's Gym. The facility appealed to me, but the employees at my home gym in Hollywood were what helped earn my business. They were welcoming, professional, and thorough when I signed up. This interaction fell far below the standard they established. I pay over $100 a month. I work two jobs, have three children, and make time around my responsibilities to take care of my health. When I arrive during advertised operating hours, I expect basic courtesy. Neither my partner nor I should have to earn respectful treatment at the front desk. As a retail operations manager, I understand that employees must enforce policies. I also understand that enforcing a policy does not require condescension, hostility, or making a customer feel like an inconvenience. Professionalism matters most when an employee has something to explain. Positive reviews do not excuse a negative interaction or place any employee above accountability. This experience deserves to be addressed on its own merits. I have already submitted feedback directly to EŌS. I am now requesting prompt contact from the general manager or district management, a fair review of this incident, and a clear explanation of how this concern will be addressed. Every member and guest deserves consistent, respectful service--regardless of skin color or the hour they walk through the door. EŌS earned my membership with professionalism. Management now needs to show good faith and address this matter promptly.
