This time, my visit fell under the 6 months mark which meant I was ineligible for the guest pass. Elektra and Carlos were at the front desk when I arrived to purchase my first day pass of 6. Both Elektra and Carlos were not only friendly and welcoming, but they were also extremely helpful in getting me set up for my stay and ensuring I saved money. Aside from the facilities being extensive (having all the equipment I need to maintain my daily workout split and cardio routine, plus a pool, a sauna, large locker/change rooms, and a variety of classes), having a staff that go out of their way to assist and welcome everyone really makes all the difference in why I will always be a return visitor to this specific LA Fitness location. Elektra and Carlos: thank you so much for being very supportive and going above and beyond. You guys are amazing! My ONLY critique of this facility is directed more towards the members: NO ONE RE-WRACKS THEIR WEIGHTS!!!!!!!!! :-[ (which I find very frustrating and inconsiderate). It is the only reason I did not give a full 5 stars.

Whether it's someone throwing away the trash and putting new bags in the waste baskets or somebody mopping the floor in the locker room it makes you feel as if the place is cared about and cleanliness matters. I can only imagine that the next matter I'm about to mention, has been written about or mentioned several times. I understand that there might be building and tenant rules in play here and that the gym might not have much they can do unless it goes way further up the chain like corporate management. I would kindly request that this matter be addressed because it affects everyone, whether a member or visitor concerning the parking rates. I came in as a visitor on a guest pass. For someone who's canvassing the area for gyms to find to make their home it was a challenge. My first visit cost me $10 and my second visit cost me $20. This is something to be considered when someone is looking to make a facility such as this their base for their health and workout needs. You can easily see that if somebody goes to the gym a couple times a week it can result and up to $60 or more. Justin parking cost on top of that there's a membership fee. Sometimes people need a small getaway, sometimes time gets away from you sometimes you just wanna hang out in the pool for an hour or so, and we want to be able to do that without constantly checking the clock. Thank you everyone for your kind service and thank you for whoever reads this and takes these challenges into consideration.

4 stars - great amenities, big space, mixed vibe…read more Equinox Hollywood is a solid location and one I go to pretty often. It's a very different experience from most gyms in a good and bad way. First thing you notice is the size. This location is much bigger than others and actually feels like a full, large-scale gym. There's a lot more space to move around, and overall it just feels less tight even when it's busy. I mainly use it for general workouts, but I've also done yoga classes here and used the amenities, pool, and jacuzzi. The pool and jacuzzi are a huge plus and really make this location stand out, especially for recovery days or when you want more than just lifting. Staff and overall energy are strong. Front desk usually greets you, trainers are more approachable, and the place feels more social. Cleanliness is solid too, staff keeps everything in check. The downside is the crowd. The vibe can be a bit much at times. A lot of people seem more focused on socializing, filming content, or being seen rather than just working out. It's not always like that, but it's noticeable. Weekends, especially afternoons, get hectic. But parking is actually not bad. The structure is big and I've never had to wait long to find a spot. Overall, it's a strong location. The size, pool, and jacuzzi make it worth coming to, and the energy is higher. Just depends what kind of gym environment you prefer.

I've tried it all, spinning, hot yoga, F45, Training Mate, Orangetheory, Barry's, Pilates. But Heavy Lifting, 3-4 days a week is where it's at. No matter what your fitness goals are. And not, it won't make you "bulky" whatever that means. What do I love about this gym, let me count the ways: 1. Semi-private, members only. Keeps the class sizes very small and you get to know the trainers and your classmates. Love the flat fee, monthly pricing for unlimited classes with no minimum commitment. It's hassle free and there's no hard sell to upgrade your class packages or gimmicky sales techniques. Also, fosters a sense of community. 2. The programming. It's such a luxury not to have to think or plan your workouts. We are all suffering from decision fatigue and it's so luxurious not to think. Just leave it up to the professionals and follow instructions and your body will change. 3. The facility - Everybody gets their own squat rack and bench for the hour. No sharing equipment. Everything is clean and wiped down before and after each class. I'm a germaphobe and I truly appreciate not sitting in a pool of a stranger's DNA. It's clean, lovely and there's towel service. 4. Time - Our most precious, non-renewable resource. I love getting a full body workout in an hour. No waiting around for shared equipment. There are so many classes all day to choose from at four different locations throughout the city. 5. The community - The trainers and the other clients are by far, the kindest and most supportive around. An ego-free, a-hole free, judgment-free safe space for all levels of lifters and all ages. Lifting can be intimidating, but anybody and everybody can do it.

Ready for a workout in the middle of Hollywood? Pull up to the world famous Cinerama Dome theatre (now closed), and take the elevator up to 24. This glassy, two-story outpost of the old school gym chain is a great space with equipment all spread out and the cardio machines I like with the built-in fans. During the day there's no waiting for any machine you need. Managers can make or break a gym vibe, and Hollywood's new Sales Manager Sam is a 24 Hour superstar. I've watched him greet every entering guest by name, all while explaining membership options to some newbies. Pasadena's loss is Hollywood's gain! Minus one star for a big mess in the men's locker room; this gym needs a full-time porter. But the workout is 5+ stars.

This location has FLOOR TO CEILING windows letting in immense sunlight and extreme heat. Their solution? Adding 3-5 commercial fans that oh so slightly aids the uncomfortably muggy conditions. Working out in the summer here is truly unbearable and I'm very close to finding a new gym. It was only 80° today and I fear what the rest of the summer will look like. 24 Hour Fitness, if you care about your members please consider taking steps on making the weightlifting floor more suitable for a good workout.
