So you get this reformer, that is usually the only one left because nobody wants it, and you cannot see anything you're doing. Before you even finished with the class, the people in the class after you stampede their way in, and wait by your reformer while you're still actively working out! Waiting for you to vacate your reformer so they can hop in. It's so uncomfortable. It's like they're waiting by the door like The Walking Dead, and stumbled their way in to hover over you. All in all, I'm not coming back.

I have been…read morea loyal member for several years, and this place has always been convenient and one of my favorites. However, I recently encountered a shocking situation. After a long break, I decided to come back and invited my friends to join me. One of them had an active membership, while the other did not. The friend who had a membership agreed to work out with us and guide us, even though she is not a professional trainer, just our friend. When I brought my other friend who was interested in becoming a member and joining me regularly, she was not allowed to enter because she had not registered online, and there was no one available on-site to assist her. This was despite the fact that she had a guest pass from me. We tried to resolve the situation on the spot, but instead of showing understanding, the receptionist -- a young Spanish-speaking woman of average height with long black hair, who appeared to be new and unfamiliar with me -- behaved very rudely. She refused to help, delayed us with the registration process, and made everything unnecessarily complicated instead of assisting my friend in becoming a member. This resulted in a very unpleasant experience for us. Moreover, the following day, I was denied access to my regular Zumba class with a different instructor, despite being a long-time member. The reason given was that the previous day we had worked out with our friend who was guiding us. I was extremely upset, and the situation escalated to the point where the police were called to make me leave the gym. This humiliating experience put me in a very uncomfortable and embarrassing position. I am deeply disappointed. If anything like this happens again, I am prepared to pursue legal action, as this situation is unacceptable and has left a very negative impression on me. If I do not receive a formal apology, they will lose three loyal clients, as well as future potential clients I was planning to bring with me.

I worked at a few different pilates studios in Beverly Hills area before, and they all had their pros and cons. In my opinion, Oak Fitness Club is a hidden gem that definitely stands out among other facilities I've trained at for several reasons: 1. Location. The club is situated in a very safe and well-maintained area. Parking is very convenient. There's plenty of metered parking on Civic Center Drive and also a public structure adjacent to the Beverly Hills Public Library. 2. Amenities. Large and clean changing rooms, towels, showers, water cooler - it's something that you would think should be there a priori, right? Wrong. I've trained at places with no showers, no locker rooms, and extra fees for towels and water. This place got you covered. 3. Gym. It has just been renovated and I love the new calisthenics equipment that allows for all sorts of functional movements. Now I am able to take my clients to the next level of fitness by using not only free weights and machines, but also pull up bars and my favorite equipment TRX. I sometimes use cardio equipment for my clients to warm up, and I'm absolutely in love with this new cutting-edge treadmill that adjusts to your pace on the fly, no button presses necessary. 4. Pilates studio. Gorgeous large room with lots of sunlight and high ceilings. There's plenty of pilates apparatus - 8 reformers, 3 tables, 3 chairs, and also enough space for doing mat pilates and yoga. It does get busy sometimes early mornings, but the space is very well thought out to allow enough room for all clients to have their private space and move freely. 5. People/crew. The trainers and pilates instructors, who like me rent space at Oak, are respectful, courteous, and professional. Co-sharing space can be tricky, but doing it with the right people feels comfortable and safe. I also have taken plenty of HIIT classes and pilates reformer classes, and the instructors are top-notch. My favorite HIIT trainer is Annie. I always feel challenged during her classes, definitely break the sweat, and feel sore the next day. 6. Leadership. The owner Aaron is a very special person who definitely knows what he is doing and he does it very well. Aaron was able to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere in the club where people not only work out, but also make friendships, discover new opportunities for themselves, and get inspired by other people around them. This is why I love this space so much. I feel that both my clients and I are able to grow, and it's a very rewarding feeling. Train with Rafael! You won't regret it. Jeremy is another incredible trainer! He's always motivating me, and keeping a positive attitude at the gym! Also have had great stretching sessions with him as well! And yet again, another person that likes to have fun and train at the same time! Someone who takes his work seriously as well! Train with Jeremy as well! Another manger, La, is always smiling and making jokes with me. She takes the time to talk to me if I'm walking by or on the treadmill , if I have a question, or just a casual conversation. She's always super positive, always says to me, "you're killing it today!" Thank you La! You are seriously doing a great job! Don't pass Ruth at the front desk! She makes you feel right at home when you walk in! I'll sit and chat with her for 10 to 15 minutes after my workout and we'll talk about current events and have a good laugh! Very cool girl! There is NO high pressure sales with any staff member at the gym! I'm sure I'm leaving plenty of people out, but unfortunately can't credit everyone. But everyone deserves a praise! So the bottom line... I've never had a bad experience with anyone at Beverly Hills Equinox! Not with the trainers, the staff, the managers, everyone at the spa... Everything has been phenomenal!! I still love it and it holds a few special memories of my office literally sharing a wall with the gym and at exactly 4pm the music bumping from a workout class, to going early in the mornings in a suit, quickly changing, getting my workouts and sauna in, showering and then walking straight to my office down the hall. It was very convenient for me and I was in some of the greatest shape of my life at one time. I think this place was at its peak when it had Oliver Cafe joined with it and they would serve smoothies and food. I would sometimes take a break and grab a quick smoothie and go back to my office. I will say I like the gym and layout a little more than the Encino Location and it feels more spacious. The staff are very nice but the trainers will hound you in the gym and call you nonstop and that's where Encino location tops this one. I love the sauna room, the eucalyptus towels and the showers and locker area is always clean. They have great customer service and the quality of amenity's are top notch compared to other gyms I've been to. Between Encino and Beverly Hills I'm definitely choosing this one for environment and energy but Encino for privacy, and a nice quiet relaxing workout. However, I have taken a tour of the Woodland Hills one and that one seems super legit! This is my home though. Please get another restaurant or smoothie shop in this location soon!
