Jeff was very rude to my wife. He couldn't return her phone calls or text messages to explain the process. And then he couldn't provide the services because he was concerned about the results. Very unprofessional man. Do not recommend. Try someone else in the North Bay. read more

Five stars for this man's time. I am a tenant. About 6 weeks after moving in I could not understand why I had been feeling lousy (plus taking many Covid tests). Then I found mold in the kitchen, under a loose floorboard. The landlord (basically) told me to spray vinegar on it and keep a fan on it, and then something about brushing it with baking soda. I requested a mold inspection. Two days later the landlord tried to pass off a contractor as mold inspector. When I realized this I reminded her of my ongoing symptoms and asked again for a legitimate mold inspection to which she absolutely refused (she is aware that there was water damage before I moved in). So I said I would set one up and pay for it. Enter Jeff. He responded with a quote and then asked me to share what was going on... I filled him in on the details and he was thoroughly honest with me about the situation. Rather than go ahead and schedule the inspection, he explained in much detail, what mold remediation entails and that it would be a much larger job than what the landlord told me (just a few days) indicating that she is not likely to pay for actual mold remediation. He even suggested that I "get out" (more than once). I am VERY grateful for Jeff's knowledge and experience, along with his time, honesty and advice. What a gem. I will definitely refer Jeff when given the opportunity. Thank you Jeff. read more

The Best in the business , bar none. Honest , ethical with practical solutions . I recommend Jeff Boris without reservation

I received a very vague report third hand from this company. It had no telephone number, email address, website or most importantly license number. It does not describe who collected samples or the method they were obtained. It does not state the weather conditions and if the front slider was left open during the inspections. It does not state the contents of the room. It does not state if any mold was visible or staining or any indication of water damage. It does not state that the type of mold associated with water damage was not present. The company Redwood referred to for the remediation work was unprofessional to the point of interrupting me repeatedly when I asked for the report they promised in 48 hours and asked what their approach would be since there was no sign of damage or mold. I called another outfit that stated the counts were likely due to contents stored in the home for 25 years and the home being shuttered and not lived in for months. They suggested all soft goods and furnishings be removed so they can perform wipe down, heppa vaccuum and scrubbers as compared to the ripping walls with no damage open as Redwood's person suggested. read more

Jeff is a consummate professional and student of his profession. I can't recommend him enough for services related to mold, EMFs, VOCs, lead paint, or any other home environmental concerns. Jeff responded to our difficult request with the aplomb that accompanies more than three decades of experience. He walked us through difficult concepts with grace and made sure we were on the same page at all times. I feel I know far more than the average citizen about TVOC levels and their implications for resident health -- all due to Jeff! Thanks, Jeff! read more

I own a Real estate company (Tam Realty) here in Marin County. My four letter word is Mold! Jeff is a non-alarmist but also a very thorough brainiac microbiologist. Jeff will come in and do a real report and provide real results, he's not looking for remediation work he's looking to provide the truth. I would trust Jeff to inspect my house to make sure my family is safe. Jeff is the only person I call if there is a air quality concern in a home. I would recommend him to anyone that has questions about their air quality. Plus he is an interesting guy and fun to talk too! read more

Jeff was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything involved, and obviously has ample experience. The testing results were delivered expeditiously and were easy to understand. I will 100% hire Redwood Environmental again. Thank you Jeff! read more

I don't know much about home maintenance. When Jeff came to inspect my residence, he clearly knew what he was doing and could educate me on things that needed to be done. It was a seamless experience and I recommend anyone to his services. read more

Five starts plus! My college-age daughter had another company perform a mold test in an attempt to figure out why she felt worse physically whenever she was home. They produced a report and recommended about $2,000 worth of "DIY" product. Something about that hit my antennae wrong, so I sought input from NextDoor. Someone (thank you, Dana Dworin!) recommended Jeff at Redwood Environmental Services. He came the next day, ran about half an hour of tests, and I had a report in a couple of days. The mold in our house was NOT serious enough to require remediation, though he did recommend a number of other things (dehumidifier, air purifier, and oh honey get those carpets cleaned), none of which he sells himself. If we hadn't worked with Jeff we would have wasted money on unneeded product, instead of investing quite a bit less on things that will actually help. And his covid precautions were impeccable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Worked with Jeff twice and was happy with his service both times. Highly recommend

Great service and good, clear advice in the report. Jeff was fast and easy to work with. I recommend.

Jeff is very meticulous in his inspections and thoughtfully answered my laundry list of questions. He came in and found mold that I didn't even realize was there. As a Real Estate Professional, I rely upon a roster of experienced inspectors to undertake investigations of properties in which my clients may be interested. I've enjoyed working with Jeff many times over the past 10 years. He provides a high level of technical expertise, yet his personable, down to earth manner makes even the most complex test understandable to me and our mutual clients. He takes the time to answer questions enthusiastically and fully, an important quality for an inspector of air quality, spores, fungus and more. I've always been able to rely on Jeff for the quality of his inspections and reports. I recommend him highly! read more

I called on Jeff to come examine black mold under our sink counter. He didn't think testing it was necessary as it is contained and limited. This was a nice change for a consultant to recommend less! Instead, he wrote up a protocol for any contractor we hire to remove our stone so that removal and replacement in this small area will be safe for us and our home. Jeff also recommended a product for other areas with mildew in our house, and that product works great. I highly recommend. read more

If only all service providers could be as professional as these guys. A flood next door to my office caused buckling and musty odor under the "hardwood" floors so I called Redwood Environmental to assess if we had mold issues. They were so easy to deal with; istened, understood, arrived on time, clean, polite, personable, knowledgeable and efficient. Would highly recommend them. read more

Jeff was able to come to inspect our home the day after we called. He did a thorough test of every aspect of our home for mold and water damage. And he discovered that our home is in quite good shape, which was really good to know since my husband has been having health issues which we thought could be attributed to mold in our home. We highly recommend him. He only does the testing, not the work, so he has no hidden interest in finding mold. And his price is very reasonable. read more
