This resulted in a large capital gains tax bill at the end of the year, and additional fees to buy back my mutual funds. His explanation was: I thought you wanted me to manage your money and invest in an Edward Jones mutual fund. Say what???? I left several messages for him to return my call. It's been over a year, and no return call from Mr. Butterfield. I have since moved my account to Devin Peal, in another Edward Jones office on H Street in Eureka. That office has been fabulous. He only makes changes after we meet and discuss the ramifications of the changes. So far, his advice has been right-on. Unlike Hawley Butterfield, he even returns calls!
