Hawley Butterfield at the Edward Jones office on E Street in Eureka should be avoided if you want…read moreany kind of control of your assets. I asked him to move my mutual funds to his office to consolidate my Family Trust into one office, but instead he ordered them to be LIQUIDATED without any attempt to notify me. This resulted in a large capital gains tax bill at the end of the year, and additional fees to buy back my mutual funds. His explanation was: I thought you wanted me to manage your money and invest in an Edward Jones mutual fund. Say what???? I left several messages for him to return my call. It's been over a year, and no return call from Mr. Butterfield. I have since moved my account to Devin Peal, in another Edward Jones office on H Street in Eureka. That office has been fabulous.
