I thought that we might have to buy a new furnace too; I figured that most companies would likely just pitch for a complete furnace replacement. Ben A. came over today and he was able to determine that the wiring of our furnace was damaged. He was able to replace the wiring for us - see photos attached - and he replaced our old thermostat (which was also faulty) for us too. It's too bad that I can only write 1 review, but after these experiences, I wouldn't even bother with them. 1st dispatch A somewhat new wall heater isn't operating, so I requested the home insurance to send HVAC for furnace repair, home insurances' contracted HVAC service company is Redwire, so Redwire dispatched a technician... who went straight to the old furnace beneath the house, which I already know it's broken, and says that it needs replacement. Then when asked to repair or diagnose the wall heater, the technician refused. Saying that we must request for another furnace repair from the Home Warranty. Knowing that there are people who are ill and are currently living here in the coldest of Winter, you're asking sick people to stay in the cold for a couple more days for what reason? You could've told them that you're going to charge that as additional outcall fee, but nope, zero Fs given, the technician didn't care if there are sick people living in the cold without a working furnace and left them like that. 2nd dispatch After a couple days of struggling in the cold, the technician came... couldn't diagnose the problem, saying that he didn't have proper equipment to diagnose, and will need someone else to come... this is quiet upsetting, the technician could have done this one the 1st dispatch, now we gotta wait for another couple days without a working furnace in the winter. 3rd dispatch After a couple more days (my first request was on 12/2, and this is now 12/17, it's cold AF and the furnace hasn't been working for more than 2 weeks), a different technician came... and concluded that the wall furnace needs replacement, and will take measurements and send an estimate. I find it suspicious, I think they are just trying to make the owner use the insurance requests so they can make money, and now they want to haul in a bigger job to make more money. So, I contact another HVAC company to come and take a look at the wall heater, which the technician fixed the problem without much trouble, it was just a dirty sensor, get a vacuum to clean up the wall heater was all you needed. I contacted the home insurance and reported to them regarding what happened. Hopefully they realize what Redwire is doing, which is trying everything they can to make people request for service, while never really fix anything unless it's a major money haul like replacing a wall heater, even if the wall heater doesn't need to be replaced at all. Due to their professional delays, now the tenant is filing lawsuit against me. Wow, I could never imagined a dirty sensor would cause this... wait, no, this is caused by Redwire. Moral of the story, stay the F away from Redwire and any HVAC "technician" who tells you that your somewhat new furnace needs a replacement. read more

I was very happy with Redwire and their technicians honesty. My parents had told me I needed to have my furnace inspected annually. I had never had anyone out in 5 years. When the technician arrived he told me those annual inspections really aren't needed annually, and only really AC units need it and only every 4-5 years or so. That a lot of HVAC companies sell annual inspection plans and it isn't really necessary. I so appreciate that honesty. He could have easily signed me up for such a plan because I lacked knowledge. That honesty to me is so appreciated. Alan is very friendly and efficient. He knows his furnaces. On his initial visit we discovered the fault, it was the controller board. Alan saw what looked like a short, and made an attempt to repair it; unfortunately, but not surprisingly, to no avail. He had to order a new board. Fortunately, the five days that followed waiting for the board to arrive were not too cold. On his return visit, Alan quickly installed the new board, ran a local test, and then we ran the test from the thermostat. It all worked, easy peasy. I was very pleased with the whole experience. Our Nest thermostat as well as our heating randomly turned off so I was looking for a professional to help diagnose/fix our issue. They quoted $69 to run diagnostics which is more fair than a lot of other companies in the same area. My husband was home to welcome Alan who went straight to work. It turns out that somehow our "kill switch" in the furnace was hit and it stopped powering our thermostat and heater. Alan was really honest and upfront about the super easy (and somewhat embarassing) fix and did not charge the $69 since he stated he didn't have to actually do any diagnostics! Wow oh wow! I'm very happy to leave a review for Redwire HVAC. First of all their communication was VERY fast. I was able to be scheduled quickly. Alan was on time and came by to do a diagnostic on our supply ducts as I thought they needed sealing. When he saw them he explained why it didn't need any work at this time. He asked to check my furnace and I was surprised to see how dirty and clogged the filter was!!! Had he not looked I would have forgotten about it for lord knows how long! He even vacuumed the furnace before installing a spare filter I had. He came the next day to install a new thermostat because ours was on its last leg. Alan is trust worthy and super respectful. Alan arrived within the promised time window, and while diagnosing the issue clearly explained the possible causes of our AC unit not working along with potential costs involved with fixing it. Luckily for us it was only a bad capacitor which Alan was quickly able to replace for a reasonable cost. After a freon recharge (since we hadn't serviced the unit in a while), the AC was up and running good as new. Redwire HVAC responded to my request for a thermostat diagnosis within minutes of contacting them via Yelp and offered 2 appointments the next day with their technician. The technician tested the thermostat and because it wasn't working asked us what type of thermostat we'd like to have installed. He listened to our request for an easy-to-read and non-programmable thermostat, then went to get it from their supply house. He installed it and tested it to ensure it was functioning properly with our furnace. I had an issue with my gas furnace after seeing an error message on my Nest thermostat. Alan from Redwire HVAC found the issue, which turns out to be a bad/incorrect limit switch installed years ago by another HVAC service man. Alan also pointed out that the gas pressure is too high (which he corrected as well), and that my air filter is too thick for my furnace. None of which the previous service person ever mentioned and just installed the wrong limit switch just to make it work. Alan came back with the proper limit switch with a higher limit and everything works great now. It's been a great experience. Very professional from scheduling to actual service work, with the staff having solid knowledge HVAC systems. I would highly recommend Redwire HVAC. read more
