This place serviced my Bryant HE furnace that stopped working. All Ben did was remove the condensate hose from a bucket and the furnace worked again. Innovative charged me $335 for this lack of real service or repair. Never gonna use them again. Just for a comparison, the furnace had issues a few years later. Called Next HVAC and their guy Steve didn't do anything as the furnace started working again for whatever reason. Although he was here almost an hour, all he charged was the $70 diagnostic fee which was disclosed upfront. Using Next HVAC for my next service call! Innovative Mechanical was referred to me by my plumbing guy, and they don't disappoint. Domenic and team replaced the gas HVAC systems with heat pumps. The quality of their work is impressive. During the process, one of the downstair unit locations required custom made piping and the other unit in the backyard required a new electric panel outdoor. The company has done maintenance for us for years. However we did an install that they doubled the price for and have spent 10k trying to get repaired so it will actually work. The unit leaked water and damaged our ceilings and we have just spent another 1100 to find out that the original install was done improperly. Only 4 stars due to a glitch in their EMERGENCY SERVICE on the weekends, when the main office is closed. I called the main number to set an appointment. The call was return and appointment done through an agent using a mobile phone(working form home?) Back to the story. A very competent person came out for routine maintenance that I have done every few years. He was terrific! I asked him to wear a face mask, and booties. He did and was respectful, politely, patient and knowledgeable. He left giving me a clean bill of health. His name was Josiah, they are lucky to have him! Then the next time I turned the HVAC on a scary new noise was heard.. loudly. I turned the HVAC off. It was a Saturday. I called the mobile number that initially reached out setting/confirming the appointment. Only this number did not answer or leave any emergency contact information. I didn't realize I was supposed to call the main number for emergency help. My home stayed at 60 degrees for 34 hours, before the mobile agent called back sending Josiah back immediately on Sunday to fix the problem, which was a simple fix. Now that I know their system, I would definitely recommend them. I hope the mobile person includes more emergency information in her message going forward if she isn't there to take the call on a weekend. read more

After inspection, they said there was nothing wrong and the condenser didn't make the noise while they were there. Not happy with the numerous visits that had to happen for my parent's furnace because no one could seem to figure out how to repair it. And this is a furnace that they installed initially. In the meantime my very elderly parents were freezing in their home and had to pay a rather large bill for them to keep coming out to try to troubleshoot the problem. Had Innovative Mechanical replace and relocate our gas furnace and ducts back in November 2020 which took about 1 week with 2 guys working full days. We got a Trane 96% efficiency, added a HEPA filter, and installed an A/C coil to be A/C ready. We relocated the furnace from a hallway closet to the crawlspace, which opened up tons of storage space and more importantly made the operation of the furnace blower virtually silent! The technicians, Mark and Allen, were extremely professional and friendly! Always on-time and very respectful of hour house and family. Al, was our project manager, and made frequent visits throughout the project to check on progress and answer questions. I could not be any happier with their service and quality of work! Pricing was reasonable and very comparable to the other 2 quotes I received (+/- $300), with the real difference being that Al explained everything in detail with me and gave me confidence that they would do the job right. I highly recommend calling these guys for a quote for your next project/repair! I definitely will be using them for my A/C project. These guys recently performed some HVAC modifications for me on a commercial project. The building's owner used them for previous work and suggested we go back to them. During the project they were lacking. On the front end we got a high quote, unresponsive sales process, and a long scheduling delay. The work (which was supposed to take just four hours) required them to make four or five separate on-sites. And worst of all, the final workmanship was sub-par; they didn't stick to the plan, leaving framing uncovered and unpainted, and requiring others to finish the job. On a positive note, after the work was done we expressed our unhappiness with their performance, and they followed up and apologized, also adjusting down our invoice. They do seem to be concerned with customer satisfaction and it's possible that in the busy construction market, our small project fell between the cracks. read more

Tech empty handed came into our building, goal is to trouble shoot why AC does not work at the front. All he did is to tell us everything works as expected even though I stressed to him we've struggling with the AC for a month. Even with that, he didn't bother with any testing like refrigerant line pressure etc, and just told us cold air coming out. Then 2 rooms vent cold air came to a stop. Then he said he could not finish it this time, he needs to come back next day to check it. Next day he came back. Same process, he didn't bother with any testing, didn't bother to explain to me or our front desk what he did. Back to his company, he submitted a quote for a capacitor replacement of $1245. And charged for 2x2=4 hours for his visits $775! $775 for doing nothing empty handed and no data to report whatsoever?? Is this company and tech out of their mind and just thinking robbing people like this is okay? I gave management the feedback, and the lady manager or owner didn't even bother to reply. read more

Called for HVAC servicing and issue with some rooms not getting enough air. They were reliable, available on phone. The guy couldn't help much as there were no dampers for the hvac, so couldn't control the airflow. They are super expensive. Initially I was quoted $ 235 for first hour but then charged me additional $100 for commute time ( from South SF to city of SF). I have been a customer of Innovative Mechanical for many years. This is the 1st time in 30 years that my furnace needed repair. I was impressed with the professionalism of the office staff from the 1st telephone call I made to the completion of the work required. Gina was helpful in getting a technician out to check the problem immediately. The Technician, Ben, arrived earlier than expected. He checked thoroughly and explained the issue in terms that I understood. The parts were ordered the same day and promised within the next week. I was concerned about waiting any length of time as it has been extremely cold the past week . Gina assured me that they would do all possible to complete the repair within the week. Fortunately, the parts ordered arrived early, and Gina contacted me via email and a telephone call. A promise to try and get the Technician earlier was made, and, again, surprisingly, 3 days earlier than the expected date. The Technician Ben, was on time. But after that he vanished, I had a couple of questions on the quote and I sent him 3 emails, 2 VM in 2 weeks timeframe but no replies. Al from Innovative came out to San Rafael to give me a quote for the reinstall of flue duct work in our garage. We had another company come out and properly abate the asbestos flue that was currently in place. Al's guy, Steve arrived on time and did a fantastic job replacing the flue and roof cap. He also rewrapped the supply duct work with the silver insulation. It was previously wrapped with exposed (dirty and nasty) yellow fiberglass. We couldn't be happier with the work.
