The staff are incredibly warm and attentive. Izzy and I got to chatting about Harry Styles when she noticed my earrings right from the beginning of our dinner service, got our drinks and appetizer started right away, and kept the flow of clean up and delivery moving without making us feel rushed. She also took our picture for us (I came with my dad) at the end of the night and got great shots that both captured us and the restaurant's decor. For appetizer, we had the squid pro quo - this is one of the best calamari dishes I've ever had. They were lightly battered and perfectly crispy without overcooking the squid, but the best part was the sauce that was drizzled over. It reminded me of a sweet Thai chili sauce and gave the dish a non-traditional tang, which sent me over the moon. Our drinks came out shortly after - I had the Pandamonium, which tasted like more of a dessert cocktail (honeydew boba tea kind of), and my dad had the Tiger's Milk, which was equal in flavor but less sweet. He said the licor 43 is what really elevated the cocktail. Then came the food: I had the Root Salad and made it feral (added chicken), Dad had the Braise the Bar special. Our portion sizes appeared quite different, but given the richness of the braised short ribs over the mashed potatoes, it made sense. I loved the balance of fresh and savory with the arugula and beets against the grilled meat so much that I'm inspired to try and recreate this at home for when I can't make it all the way out to SLO. I think the short rib dish could have a little more sauce - it was rich, but a bit dry; and the single shishito pepper kind of made chuckle as it seemed a bit out of place, as there were no other greens on that plate. Would definitely come again, a fun date spot that shows the quirkiness of SLO.

No that is not a sunburn in my picture, that is a really bad MCAS allergy reaction common - caused…read moreby my meal from feral. The swollen images are from my anaphylactic episode the night before of and the rotten tomatoe red is the next day when I have systemic inflammation with a number of ugly body wide symtoms. Now I'm not from the area, just passing through, at a hotel and safe food options are very limited. So I do my due diligence of course! I call ahead to ask about what I might order before hand. Gnochi with sage and cream sauce should be fine. Gyoza should be fine since the app says you can get the glaze on the side and nix the Kimchi. But I call to check just in case. * I ask the girl on the phone if the Gyoza sans Kimchi - is spicy or not. She said it wasn't spicy. I said - so without Kimchi, it's just a regular Gyoza? She said verbatim - yep it's just "regular gyoza". I said "great. So I will order that as soon as I'm off the phone then. " Got the food. - Well firstly - it is not just a regular Gyoza - even without the Kimchi it is spicy as hell! It is one of the spiciest things I have eatten and I only had one little bite. My mouth was on fire for 20 minutes. It definitely has a very very high level spice in the meat. And the glaze (which was not on the side) literally had red pepper flakes in it. So definitely not "regular gyoza". As for the gnocchi which became shells instead - the cream sage sauce was crazy. And I don't mean crazy fun. First it wasn't delicious. It was a bit bland but also weirdly a super strong sage flavor. I quickly realized it was...hurting? Not in my allergy way, but just - pain. After another bite I realized, they used not just sage the herb but sage oil. Cooking with Sage oil is controversial and should only be done by the best of the best, in precise and teensy measurements because you could burn or make someone sick It burned my throat. It recovered after a few days. But it hurt like a you know what till then. And luckily I realized what was going on (thanks to my essential oil knowledge) and stopped eating after just a few bites. What if I had eaten way more? I am guessing - no thanks to their grubhub page (which just presented as high end fusion food that was allergy friendly) and no thanks to the girl who answered the phones - that likely their restaurant theme is super intense flavors. But even so playing around with sage oil (when just half a drop too much can burn someone) is a bit too frickin feral. - or if you absolutely must use sage oil - list it, not only on the restaurant menu but on the apps as well. 5 stars absolutely not given. And before all the unepathetic, lucky people - who can eat whatever they want - ask "why would someone with all those allergies even try to order from a place like this". I was traveling. I didn't have many options. AND - i called ahead to check it was safe.

I recently moved to Morro Bay and had a hard time finding a good vet. I found one in Los Osos, but…read moreI couldn't afford the cost of spaying my little dachshund. So I made an appointment at Woods and I so happy I did. The process was very easy online. The drop off and pick up were trouble free. Their office is clean and staff was very helpful and kind. As far as her actual procedure, the incision healed perfectly and she had no problems. I honestly was afraid it would be a "hack" job and almost canceled. There was only one other dog that day in there being spayed, which made me feel better. The cost was reasonable and I'd recommend their service to anyone. I felt good about being a responsible owner. Thanks Woods Staff!

If you are looking for a tiny dog, don't get discouraged when later at the other shelters in this area if you are talked to as if you are crazy trying to get the most popular under 10 pound poodle mix. It's first come first served, and they don't monitor or give outside seating for handicap or Veterans, nor do they care if others push you aside trying to be at the desk before you. It wouldn't hurt to bring someone to fight for your right to stand upright first in line. Being a chair of your own and a witness! It's a dog eat dog world here in SLO and Santa Barbara County. Kill shelter dogs can be unmanageable so I decided to quit being ran over and talked down to in This State. California does have sweet people but don't expect assistance, bring your own, my elder friends and Veterans especially! Cats are easy peasy even go to Pet Stores and buy one. One place was so rude, she kept cutting me off, these lead women running these? Can be very controlling, manipulative and uncaring, as they cut you off, about dogs? $400.00 for example is the highest rate, to adopt after she gets them from a local shelter... and she will cut you off saying your going about it all wrong, yet your friends said to explain the difficulties you experienced prior, you were going to offer to meet up and volunteer. So pass it on to your elder handicapped friends and bring an adult witness. Woods Is Perfect for cat lovers!!!
