We didn't have much choice for a late lunch in the area, so we ended up here for a quick snack. The building is impressive, all modern rustic mix of wood, brick and steel. The dining area is open and airy, with floor to ceiling windows providing and expansive view of the rolling vineyards. We made it just in time for the lunch features, so we ordered a meat pizza to share. Normally $23 is a little steep for one meat pizza, but you have to factor in the location, view and ambiance. The pizza itself was good, with authentic wood burning char on the crust to balance the saltiness of the meat and sauce. Passable but won't be back for the pizza. read more

Unplanned stop on way to Niagara and looked up this place mid week for lunch. We were only ones there which sometimes makes you worry, the food was fantastic. Oysters, arugula salad and burger. Our server (Kelly i think) was so knowegleabe about the food and wine, they didn't have the wine glasses for sale so she found out where they source them and gave us the info. So on our way to Niagara stopped at at the restaurant supply store and got a box :) seems like a great place to return in summer. Oh the creme brule was awesome too. read more

TLDR: The food is a love hate but definitely passable. Beautiful venue, nice service, overall would give it a second chance. We only checked out the restaurant. The architecture was breathtaking: modern rustic vibes with an abundance of natural light. No fuss Opentable reservation. Impressive wine menu: the last page was exclusively cote de beaune selection ranging from approachable vineyards to premier and grand cru bottles. The love hate comes from the food that uhh...... leaves more to be desired. 1. The pizza was a bit too burnt (see pic). Otherwise, the dough was nice and chewy while the red sauce brought a good amount of acidity. Overall, still too charred for the faint hearted. 2. The meatballs were the most aggressively garnished appetizer of life (see pic). Could pass as a salad in a good way. Mmm but sauce is reminiscent of a pesto curry? Quite odd. Otherwise, the meatballs were a good texture. 3. Don't get the onion soup. Because it's 10/10 sweet when the ideal is a 3/10. Sooooo imagine butternut squash soup sweetness but turnt up. Otherwise the texture of caramelized onions and gruyere cheese was quite nice. Tried to reflect the light struggle with the food early on during the meal when our attentive waitstaff checked in with us. I said the soup was surprisingly sweet, our waitstaff nodded and said the sweetness came from the caramelized onions. Sure. But me thinks it was that and a generous pinch of sugar. Maybe we came on the chefs off day. I'd come back to try the wine from red stone next visit. And with some courage, maybe even try the food again. read more

Let me preface this by saying, the wine at this winery is great. I really liked it and bought two bottles to bring home and would consider buying their wine again. But the service here is NOT great. The tasting took forever for us to get our wine. And then we went inside for dinner and that ALSO took forever. It all would have been made up for if the food was amazing, but the food was hit or miss. The burrata dish was decent, and the free bread, but the carbonara tasted like something out of a box. And the truffle fries were lovely and fresh but the aioli they were served with was really really not good as a paring. And our waitress really seemed like she didn't want to be there. Disinterested in us to say the least. We even heard some people get free drinks for the wait but our waitress didn't offer anything and we waited longer than them. So they get a three for good wine and some good food, but their service makes it a place I wouldn't eat dinner at again. read more

What a great find for lunch in the Beamsville wine region. Outdoor patio and indoor restaurant overlooking the vineyards. Large selection of tasty food and of top-notch Tawse and Redstone wines. We enjoyed a pizza, salad, and mushrooms on toast. All flavorful and fresh. Informative, friendly, efficient service. Ample parking. A truly pleasant experience, to which we will surely return when next in the area. Summer concerts are probably enjoyable but we have no idea where we would stay overnight. read more

Very slick modern tasting room with the restaurant attached. The wines are definitely on the pricey side starting at 30 and up to 50 and 60 but I can't tell you that they're worth the money. While reasonably good there's no way that these wines command that type of price. Also I felt that wine tastings were 4 pretty stingy pours for eight dollars -?honestly seems like a bit of a rip off. No passion here just commercial. With all the variety of really good wineries around I would not keep Redstone on the list. read more

Our second visit for there pizza and was very disappointed. We were excited this time around since our first visit last year was amazing. During that visit, we thought the pizza was the best of all pizzas in the NOTL and Niagara region in general in our opinion (and we eat a ridiculous amount of pizza). However this time around the pizza crust was burnt on top and especially at the bottom. They use a wood-fire oven and semalina to stretch the dough (which is the right way to do it in my opinion), but it seems they may have left it in the oven for too long, and the crust bottom picked up a bunch of burnt semalina (most likely from residuals of previous pizzas too). This made the entire pizza taste very bitter and burnt. We love pizza and feel throwing this out was sinful, so we ate what we could and left out the most burnt and bitter parts. We told the waitress, who was kind and courteous. She talked to the manager and informed the cook, and although they did give us an apology, I thought they could at least comp one of the 2 pizzas or offer to remake both or at least 1 pizza. I'm just hoping the cook tried to be more mindful for their next pizza orders, as it's a shame to see such great pizzas served burnt. I most likely won't return anymore. read more

Nice ambience except for the flies crawling all over my legs (inside). Food hit and miss. The burrata was fine but the toast was burnt black. The oysters were delicious but the mignonette was too vinegary. The scallop ceviche lacked acid and wasn't really a ceviche just raw scallops served in a cream sauce. Special lunch fish and chips were ok. Fish batter was oily and it's possible the oil wasn't fresh. Special pizza of mushrooms and blue cheese did not look appetizing but tasted ok, nothing to rave about. Loved the halibut which was cooked perfectly and served with delicious fresh peas. The accompanying agnolotti with mussels filling was a bad idea. An odd combination for sure. The dessert of crème brulee had a gooey, soft topping (no crunch). Service was pleasant but very slow. We waited a long time for our drinks, then again for our apps then for our mains. Tables seated after us were served before us. We enjoyed the wines and cocktails accompanying the meal. Be warned though, the margarita is very spicy. I found it undrinkable. Prices are high for what you get. Won't be back. Service and food were too uneven and there are lots of options in the area. read more

I had a great experience at Redstone winery. My party of 4 had a tasting and then stayed for lunch. I've actually already planned my next visit! When we first got there we went to the bar and were helped by Ben. Ben was awesome!! We each got the wine taste tester flight. We lucked out by being his only guests for about 20 mins so we had his full attention for our first 3 testers. He took the time to ask each one of us what we liked to drink and suggested wines accordingly, gave us some background on the wine he suggested and then discussed what fruits or other flavours we were tasting once we tried it! We loved him. We actually all bought two bottles each because he was so good. (Pro tip: if you eat st the restaurant you will get 10 or 15% off of any bottle purchase - I forget which %) I am really excited to open the Viognier a white wine that I bought - the yeast in this wine supposedly eats/ate all of the natural sugars in the wine leaving the lingering taste of the fruits that were fermented with the wine but not all of the sugar. P.S. Ask Ben about the Redstone goats!! It's pretty neat. After our 4 taste testers we went out to the patio to have lunch. We ordered the three pizzas in the picture. They were SO GOOD. We ordered the Margarita, the Cauliflower Pesto and the Meat pizza. Firstly on all the pizzas the sauce is excellent - it made the margarita stand out which imo is hard to do with a conventional pizza. Second the cauliflower pizza had literal cauliflower on it, it's not the style of crust which was what I was thinking it was. They added little globs of pesto amongst the cauliflower which was brilliant, yummy and surprising. We loved it. Lastly, the meat pizza was the first meat pizza I have ever liked. It wasn't overwhelmingly meaty and again the sauce was delish, it was perfect. The waitress was awesome too. I asked for ranch but they didn't have any so she brought an alt option which I thought was very thoughtful and I really appreciated since she could have just come back and said we have none. Lastly, the manager Adrian was great as well. When we originally got to Redstone the patio was being shut down due to an incoming lightening and rain storm. We asked to talk to him because we wanted to negotiate us sitting outside and then just moving inside once the storm hit. Although he said no at first, for our and his wait staffs safety, he said he would keep an eye on the radar and to our surprise he actually did. The timing of the storm got pushed back two hours per the radar so Adrian came by the bar and offered to take our order while we got our tasting and then seated us right away on the patio once we were done with the tasting. Normally, I wouldn't go on about a manager or a bartender or a wait staff but the staff were outstanding and made a huge difference in our experience. They deserve a shout out. The dinner menu looks pricey for me so I don't think I would try based on the varying reviews accompanied with the price. I was very happy with lunch though. Redstone Winery is an offshoot of Tawse Winery. What started out as a vineyard, ended up as a flashy branch of the Tawse Empire. The winery is both impressive and a disappointment. It is slick, modern, and reminiscent of every other winery with deep pockets that has built a slick, modern winery in the last couple of years. It is both a brilliantly designed winery and an impersonal building at the same time. The bigger disappointment here is the wine. It is simply ok, where the prices suggest something else. The staff tries to suggest how great the wine is (service is very good), yet it isn't. There are too many places nearby that are making equal or better wine at a better price point. (I do not know if this type of expansion suggests the ultimate corporatization of all wines in this area, however, for the time being there are still smaller and better options.) I will be back, yet for the time being will continue to visit Malivoire and other spots for wine. read more

This place was great in the summer last year but was I ever disappointed and embarrassed when i brought my family here to their restaurant. The waitress was lovely tho. however we had the option for the tasting menu for $95 or al a carte. we decided to share the tasting menu and. my folks both had the scallops and risotto al a carte. the tasting menu was not good at all ... if it was amazing then $95 is no big deal but it didn't taste very good. the al a carte scallops and risotto came with one scallop in one bowel and three in the other - not to mention they were bay scallops. what a rip off. so disappointed in this winery seeing as we loved their terrace with pizza in the summer. shame they can't deliver a good product throughout the year! read more

We visited this vinery for the first time today. Modern design, nice service and very good food. The burger my friend had was delicious, as well as my arugula salad with duck and walnut dressing. The mussels come in a delicious broth with a big side plate of fries. There is a big patio outside where you can enjoy a drink or have your meal, inside is a big dining room. The view from the patio is gorgeous. I would give it 5 star if not ridiculously high vine prices in the restaurant. read more

My bf and I had an outstanding meal here in August on the large patio. My mouth is still watering when I think of our meal and experience. The seasonal heirloom tomato salad (with anchovies, olives) was divine, as were the mussels and frites - crispy, and a generous portion with aioli. We also ordered the crispy chicken skins with a citrus aioli-like sauce - perfection! My glass of wine was delicious and the service was excellent. We went to Redstone twice and were told that we needed reservations when there were open tables available and were told that we could not sit outside on the patio. There were multiple people who were put in the same situation as us and it seemed like no one wanted to remedy or offer options. There are two tasting rooms, but it is entwined with the retail store. It just seems like management of this place can be better and it is such a shame because it is a beautiful property with great potential. They should really look into at least having a charcuterie board available in the tasting room if you are going to have a full fledged restaurant. Heard great things about the pink salt cured burger, sadly it was removed due to people not understanding that even though it looked pink, it was actually cooked. Burger on the menu was fine, nothing exciting. Only compliant. The roll was twice the size of the burger, so many mouthfuls were bread only. Lamb poutine was lovely and delightful. These items were from the bar menu. The regular dinner menu was rather esoteric and VERY pricy. Manager for the evening was exceptional. read more

Had an amazing experience at Redstone! We ate on the outdoor patio facing the vineyard fields. It was so beautiful and relaxing and glam. Service was excellent - our server was genuinely friendly and solicitous. Since it was my birthday, they comped us sparkling wine, dessert and take home mini-cakes!! Everything we ate was delicious -- especially the roasted bone marrow app and salmon entree. Food tasted very fresh -- you could see the adorable gardens that some of the veggies came from. Seriously, one of the most perfect winery dining experiences ever. We went with two kids and they had very reasonable kid's meals for them as well. We will definitely go back with the in-laws next summer. read more

We had our wedding at the Redstone earlier this month and it was a perfect venue for us. They were able to accommodate our ceremony, dinner and reception and made each transition smooth and efficient. Our guests raved about the venue, especially the food! This restaurant/ winery is one of the best kept secrets in the area. I travel extensively world wide and I have say this is now one of my favourite restaurants. The menu is unique, and delicious. The service was outstanding. Tonight was a busy night, but I felt like we were the only people in the place. Let me begin by saying that we had the tasting menu which is the most expensive dish on the menu. The servings were all excellent with the exception of the final dessert, an alleged frozen chocolate mousse. We have had better from Presidents Choice! It's a shame this was the final dish because the rest was so good. More importantly, Redstone serves hot baked buns with a home made butter, fabulous. When we asked if we might have a few more, we were told they would cost $1.00 each. Real chintzy considering we dropped a lot of many for the dinner including a good bottle of wine. When we brought this to the attention of the head server she acknowledged that it wasn't right but she had no influence over management. To be fair they did try to make up for both the dessert and buns complaint by serving us each a glass of rose and a cellophane wrapped corn bun. This is not the stuff of a high priced restaurant and we all expected better. Shame because food is fine while management leaves much to be desired. Not sure I can recommend or return. read more

The curb appeal of this modern winery is undeniable. Set against a backdrop of vineyards the restaurant is welcoming, but that's where pleasantry ended . We initially sat outside but the horde of flys soon found us. We asked about the flys and our hostess acknowledged the problem but said "that's what you get in the country". We moved inside. AThe only dining option was a preset menu where you have the choice of 4,5 or six small( very small) meals ,wine pairing was available for an extra $40.00 . The food was good but the portions were disappointing. Two dessert options were available but one of them had a $5.00 up charge . Since we waited 30 minutes between courses we ordered some more bread (also good) $1.00 per bun extra. Three hundred dollars and three and a half hours later we went home and ate. Our waitress was very pleasant , however nothing could make up for the slow service and menu options . We will never go back read more

My family and I had a Mother's Day lunch here and the service was horrible. The hostess and Manager were both pleasant but our waitress was rude. I don't usually take the time to write a bad review but I feel in this case it's necessary. Let me preface this by saying my husband and I are frequent visitors to the Vinelands region, but neither us nor any of our friends will be back to this winery. We were dining with my parents, and our 1 year old son. I was busy trying to entertain my son and so I asked the waitress to recommend a bottle of wine. She pushed an $80 bottle on us! First of all, know your audience. I worked in the service industry for years and there is a time and place to "upsell" and also a gentle way to do it. We are a young family. We came in for pizza and apps. Do we look like the kinds of people that need to drink an $80 bottle of wine over lunch?! Second of all, I found out on the way out they were selling the same wine for $33/ bottle in the adjacent store. Give me a break! We paid a $47 corkage fee for a mediocre bottle of red? I just wanted to treat my mom to a nice lunch but this really ruined our time. Based on other reviews it seems this place needs to retrain some of its staff. We won't be back! read more

This place drives me crazy. Went to try the wine and have lunch on Saturday. Told hostess we were going into to try wine and would be back for lunch after to which she said great. We go in to the tasting room which is crazy they have two areas. The girl at the quiet area says to go to the busy one...makes no sense..she says squeeze in. So we do which we later see her take new people to her area. Right away that is annoying. We taste the wine which is actually very good and the guy who served us was busy but nice. So we taste and buy wine and head back to the patio where we are now told there is a 10 minute wait...it empty. I get holding a door if it busy but the table that came in behind us gets sat before...You do not want my money. Fine. We go to wineries every weekend. We go to wineries in Europe and Sonoma. Never have we been to a place that makes you feel like they do. You are not a well know winery, your reviews are crap. Time to check yourself RedStone. Went in for lunch & wine to this beautiful establishment and what a total disappointment. The restaurant was fairly empty yet when we asked for a table for 12 they told us they would not be able to accommodate us for another 30 minutes. We offered to split the group although there were many empty large tables. When asked to speak with the manager, he came out to tell us the reason they were not able to seat us right away was because "they were expecting a big lunch crowd" and he also mentioned that good service was of upmost importance yet with over 20+ empty tables, they could not service our group. He made no sense. He offered us no alternative such as starting with drinks or explaining service maybe slow or simply telling us that they were understaffed. Any logical excuse would have been better than the poor pathetic excuse they gave us! The only positive was we left to the vineyard across the road and had a memorable wine & food experience!!! read more

Had our anniversary dinner here on a Monday evening on the patio. Excellent service, food delicious. Can't go wrong with a Cumbrae ribeye. We did the wine pairing and I enjoyed the growers Pinot noir. Wasn't a fan of their Cabernet Sauvignon. Small menu with exclusively house and Tawse wines. My wife and I determined that we each could have ordered just about everything - it was hard to choose. Service was a bit slow to start owing to two or three large (12+) groups, but more than made up for it by the quality of the food. Started with (1) short rib and foie gras terrine and (2) seared scallop with lentils, smoked ham and watercress puree, each of which had great depth of flavour. Mains were: (1) pan roasted halibut with braised pork tortellini in a savoury pork broth - nice Asian influence; tortellini were more reminiscent of tender dumplings; and (2) smoked pork butt with chestnut and squash ragout - marked departure from a typical slow braised/pulled pork. Desserts were (1) rhubarb crisp (surprising since out of season in April, but delicious) accompanied by amazing cardamom ice cream; and (2) a dense chocolate and peanut terrine - perfect rich ending to the meal. Would return in a heartbeat ... oh, and the slow service to start was further overcome by the complimentary ice wine from our server to finish. read more
