Beautiful dinner at Megalomaniac. Yes this place has a stunning restaurant with a beautiful view of the winery. Perfect casual seating and atmosphere we were seated on time and promptly. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. We got our orders in and everything came out on time and plated beautifully. Every dish was very tasty and perfectly prepared. The four of us took the tasting menu which was 3 courses. Under $100 with wine. My favorite was the short rib which was one of the best I have had in a while. Dessert was a yummy cheesecake or chocolate cake for us and we were all so happy with my meal. Unfortunately there is no full bar for dinner and a selection of only around 10 wines to have with dinner. Another disappointment was that there was no coffee, espresso or tea with dessert. Overall the food was 5 star, 5 service, atmosphere was 5. For a casual seating dinner I was very impressed.

We have been going to a winery once a week and found this place as our top 3. The service has always been very pleasant and accommodating. The server's are quite young but well trained, a plus in my opinion. Bravo to the management!!! The view on a nice sunny day won't let you leave and the food with some wine is very well paired If you haven't been, this winery is a must go to. I highly recommend this place for its service, food and view

Beautiful estate, the drive up was really grand and I love how it is located on top of a hill. Great views. We sat in a covered patio, it was fruit season so tons of fruit flies unfortunately. The food was great and very reasonably price. Had a great time and would recommend to friends and family

Winery is perched up on a hill and you also hafta walk UP it!

Megalomaniac has been on my list of wineries to visit for soo long, but it fell short of my expectations. First of all, it is a bit off the beaten track, up a hill. So it may not be great to visit during inclement weather. Since it is perched on a hill, views are stunning especially during the warmer, blooming months. I stopped here maybe an 1.5hr after they opened and there was only 1 couple at the tasting counter. I was received by a friendly middle-aged man who directed me to the counter after I told him I was there for a tasting. (Interior is absolutely stunning, btw! High ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass so there's views from every angle, crystal chandeliers everywhere.) At the entrance, there is a sign for 5 tastings for $25. After taking some pics of the beautiful interior, I literally sat AT the bar, on the stool for a good 10-15mins to get any kind of service. (A younger girl was serving the couple, but she never came over.) There was also multiple female staff milling about doing nothing much. Eventually, the younger girl came over and she admitted that this was literally the first day that they were doing tastings. I just thought this was very weird 'cause...well...it's a winery, so what the hell else do you do with a bunch of wine and people coming in??!! I asked her what the difference was btw the 5 tastings for $25 vs. the 3 tastings for $17.50 as per the menu on the bar. She said that the 5/$25 has to be pre-booked and it is more in-depth whereas the 3/$17.50 is literally just being served wine and they leave you to it. Personally, I don't think this is a great way to do wine tastings 'cause tastings is all about CUSTOMER SERVICE. After a very brief back 'n forth, I decided on the 3 that I wanted to taste. The server didn't really know much about wine, to be honest. I asked her about certain varietals and she admitted that she didn't know about it and hadn't tasted them. After pouring my samples, she disappeared for quite some time, then when she returned to the bar area, her and the older gentleman turned their attention towards the other couple. (I noticed that they were also had glasses of water to accompany their tasting, whereas I wasn't offered any.) They chatted for quite some time while I was left basically unattended while there were a few other female workers just around...doing other stuff. Wine wasn't bad, but the whole experience just soured the taste. I've done extensive tastings all throughout Southern ON and parts of Europe, and I can say that this was amongst the strangest experience where I felt almost invisible. Again, wine knowledge is needed, but I'd say the majority of doing a wine tasting is interaction and basic customer service. It was somewhat infuriating watching all these other workers mill about, but not contribute in any way to helping the other young girl out with the tastings. Proper tastings should really be 1 staff per group. Not sure if this had anything to do with it, but the other couple that got the majority of the attention, by at least 2 staff members nonetheless, were Caucasian. Hopefully this is just a coincidence.

I have eaten here a few times and always satisfied. The last time I ate here I had the quiche and it was delicious. It was creamy and paired nicely with the salad. I'm usually not a fan of Niagara wines but their Riesling is one of my favorites.

Come for the views... We came by around 4pm on Sunday and apparently tasting was completed/done for the day. Disappointing as the bar was still open and bar service continued. Did not make a lot of sense to me. We stopped in and walked around, as there was no tastings so we decided to get a couple glasses to try but after talking to the bartender and tasting their recommended cab sauv we realized this Toronto King St vibe of a winery was not for us. The wine itself was mediocre and there was nothing to be excited about except for the views which the winery sits on top of a higher elevation above its cellar--massive open space inside with a grand overlook of the Niagara Escarpment. Would love to go back for an actual tour and tasting for a second chance but as it stands--very disappointed in the entire experience. Plenty of parking, large vineyard.

Can't deny that this place looked on point

I took my special lady here for a trip to some of the best (only) wineries Niagara has to offer. We did a tour of the usual suspects such as Angels Gate, but decided to take a detour into Megalomaniac Winery. I'm not the biggest wine drinker and can hardly call myself a wine connoisseur, but I can certainly comment on the decor and service. The place was fairly packed with lots of people admiring the beautiful view and sights and sounds the place has to offer. The decor inside is very nice, with fancy chandeliers and wooden tables that would make the three bears and Restoration Hardware proud. It certainly looks clean and classy and that's what they achieved with the design. The service however, was a bit slow. I know they were quite busy, but it took a while to flag down a member of staff to get our wine tasting on the road. When it came down to the wine, it wasn't what I expected. Sure the labels are cool and I got to sip my glass on a table that was worth more than most people's cars, but still, it tasted quite bland. If you want to film a rap video this place is your jam, so at least give it a try. The view and decor are something to be admired and should be seen up close!

A beautiful setting for a winery atop the highest point in Niagara. Gorgeous view. They make a variety of wines hear that include two nice rose styles. When that's bubbly and one that still. Still is an unusual combo of Riesling and Merlot. Both were worth purchasing. The bubbly is 29 and the still is 20. The reserve merlot is distinctive but honestly not as good as some of the others in the area at $40 a bottle. So a bit too commercial but decent wines at moderate prices.

Situated in the rural, beautiful area north of Niagara, the Megalomaniac Winery is a beautiful plot of land that shows how fine wine if made. They have a beautiful tasting room stocked of a cornucopia of wines. You can taste a flight of wine for $5. if you buy a bottle you can enjoy the beautiful view while enjoying your purchase. Local Reds whites and pink varieties are available at all times.

I love this winery. Its definitely a must go if nothing other than it is so beautiful and has wonder views. Driving up to it along the pebbly road for the first time (or the fifth) is always so exciting. Yes, I have been here a number of times Whenever I get a bartender with more experience it's always fun to ask them about what new things are going on at the winery and get any shpeals about new wine. This particular time I was with my mom and my two aunts (group of 4) and a taste tester came around from a food truck vendor!! We were given a wine to pair with the meat taste tester too and asked for our opinion on the food and then on the wine paired with it. This is really exciting news because Meglomaniac does not serve food currently. I also love how they have a live singer and or band. It makes exploring the winery more inviting and hanging out outside more purposeful and relaxing. The view from the patio is really pretty however until the summer weather comes, it can be pretty chilly - bring a jacket if you're going any time before mid June. Personally, I like more dry white wines when I have them. Meglo's homegrown riesling and Local squeeze riesling are my absolute FAV white wine. While cab sauv reds are my wine of choice, I personally wouldn't recommend Niagara region reds. They just aren't in my taste pallet. I find them very sour and abrasive. A few years ago, I went to a wine pairing class that Meglo held. I believe it was called chicks and chocolate. I really enjoyed the class and while I don't know if they still offer the same class, I highly recommend to any visitors to pick at least one winery where they attend a class. It's cool to learn how wine is made, fun facts about your fav wines, learn how to smell and drink wine (aka appreciate it) and suggestions for pairings.

One of my new favorite wines!

Megalomaniac is a brilliantly marketed winery! The views from the patio are incredible! One of the best Reisling's on our day tour! Our glasses were never empty! No intimate tour around the property or cellar, just plenty of samples!!
