A few more steps down the hall and you're at the bathroom. Large tub ( we didn't use ), large shower ( we did use ). Double vanity. The best part, heated floor !! The living room / kitchen was a large nice room. Couch and coffee table. Table opens & raises to form a nice table for eat on the couch. Two burner electric cooktop & a microwave. Dishes and utensils. Gas fireplace with a timer. Hot tub on the balcony. A fantasy view !!

While I can't speak much to the condo/townhome community that is part of the Center, but the first reason to stop here is they have many more eating options than over at Tanger, most with a lunchtime, family vibe: Cafe Rio, My Liquid Garden (a juice-heavy cafe), Kneaders, Maxwell's East Coast Eatery, Myrtle Rose (this one is upscale), Dickey's BBQ, etc. Also, I like the shops ... I always find myself going into the World Market. I can't even to begin to explain the Indigo Highway ... a cool store with everything from soy candles to whiskey; I mean, they have an apothecary. Check it out. There are also salons, ski equipment, etc., etc. Just trust me, it's worth a stop and a bite.

Cafe Brilliant is the Wall Street Journal Weekend Edition of a cafe to warm up and hang out with pizza, drinks, smoothies, the whole works is across from Shabu. Apart from Shabu and Cafe Brilliant, the rest of the mall seems really quiet and deserted. Quite a shame of a wasted space but I guess this place comes alive once a year for the Festival.

In a world of large retail centers with big box stores and vast parking lots, there are a few older…read morecenters that have been around a long, long time. Union Square Center is one of them. It doesn't have a lot of curb appeal, although at one time I think it did. The buildings have some charm and character if not a lot of upkeep. What I like about it here is that you won't find the boring run-of-the mill stores that you'll find everywhere else. These are mom and pops, many of them representing a variety of cultures, it's a wonderful melting pot of ethnicities and businesses. Sadly, there's a good amount of turnover in businesses here, but that does add a fun element to see what's new every time you come visit. It would be nice to see a little more maintenance and upkeep to preserve the character here...but then again, we don't want to modernize it too much, do we?

I have seen such a turnover of businesses here, now it reminds me of a ghost town. The parking lot is a mess and needs to be resurfaced and stripped. I've only started coming here because of the food prep company I started using that has a location here in the plaza. This setup is pretty common-outdoor store entrances that face the streets, not like the indoor mall of the 80's and 90's. The nice thing here is you can easily navigate to the store you're here for. Or you can park on one end and walk up and down the row and hit many shops along the way. Parking is plentiful-there are stalls in front of all the stores, as well as larger parking areas scattered throughout. Be aware that many of the roads are one way, so watch for that. But I've never had a problem finding a spot, even on the busiest of days. They are also well lit at night, which I appreciate. The variety of stores that you'll find here are also pretty common in these types of places-a few big box stores (Ross, Michael's, Kohl's) as well as a handful of other chain restaurants and shops. Of course, there's the token cell phone stores mixed in with boutiques. I like the charm of it-a little something for everyone, and maybe check off a few errands while you're there too.

I appreciate having a one-stop location for many of the things I'd need when I leave home, but the crowded traffic does turn me away sometimes. The city recently replaced a "round about" with traffic lights, which helps with the flow of getting in and out. But once you're in the District, you'll be faced with a congestion again. Just plan on that and you'll be fine. And don't block the intersections if you're stopped. I'd love to see more parking options-it can get crowded. But this is a good thing, I'd guess-it means people are here!

Chain store-dominant, fair amount of vacancies, poor attempt at creating a downtown street...manufactured feel and generic vibe here. See this place getting redeveloped. Poor execution of a shopping center. Only saving grace is the huge Megaplex, but who wants to go there now during Covid?
