My Trek bike had a bad rear brake and I called around about getting it repaired. Most of the shops said it was not a simple fix and the cost could be significant. I called Storm and they said to bring it in and they'll see what they could do. It turns out that it was a rather simple repair and it was ready the next day. Raney, the mechanic, was courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Storm Cycles for all of your repair and product needs when it comes to bikes. read more

I'm an occasional road rider and mostly a spin class devotee. I recently got a peloton and never felt my bike fit or cleats were adjusted properly for me and chronic knee issues. I went to storm initially to swap look cleats on new shoes I bought at backcountry.com. The initial cleats I had installed had zero float (yeah I didn't know the difference between a red and black cleat. Oof). Todd was great. He watched my gait and measured where my metatarsal was to give a more precise cleat fit. He didn't even charge me other than the price of the cleats. Anyway fast forward back to needing my peloton fit. Todd asked me to bring in my road bike and we would check those settings and match those settings to the peloton. There was a lot of measuring going on here. Yeah I've seen the string measurement process. And even got the lasers done in the day. But I was totally impressed with the repeated use of levels to figure out what was "level". Turns out my bike seat height was too high despite a professional fit years ago. I'm fairly certain the process of shipping the bike and reassembling it in park city screwed that "perfect" fit up. I now feel confident I've got great cleat settings and a proper fit for the peloton. Todd was amazing and he's now my go to local bike shop. I've been to white pine (not friendly) and coles and the service at storm blows the competition away. read more

Love this shop! I'm a newbie so trustworthy knowledgeable people are what I need. We dropped a bike off for tuning and can't wait to get it back. In the meantime Erica and Dennis were immensely helpful in getting our truck set up with Race Face pad. Erica was amazing on the phone, taking time to insure the pad would fit before I drove down to the store and Dennis was super kind to help fit it to the tailgate and talk me through the install once there. Will update if their tuning and promised delivery time on the bike are anything other than what we've experienced so far. Overall great shop with CUTE shop dogs - they have a customer for life and I'm pretty sure we have many bikes to buy and service. ;-) read more

The guys in the shop are rude, unprofessional, and have no idea what "customer service" means. I took my bike in for an annual service, including a warranty claim on a dropper post. The mechanical work they did was up to par, no complaints there. But the attitude from all of the guys in the shop is just terrible. They treat you like you are beneath them, whatever, most crotchety old shop guys are like that. What really ticked me off is what happened afterwards. I opened the box on the dropper post and find out that the lever is opposite of what I had on the bike when I dropped it off. I called the shop to simply ask what could be done about it. While talking to Laurie, I overhear one of the guys in the background angrily say "that's not our problem." Laurie responded "he's just asking what can be done." She asked me if I would just call Sram directly to sort it out. I wasn't happy about this and asked what I should do if they told me I had to work through the shop, considering I had no choice but to go through a bike shop to have the dropper warrantied. She asks to call me back and I say that is fine. She calls me back and says that they have one in the shop and they will just swap it out for me. Great. I walked in to have it swapped out, mentioned who I was and why I was there. The old crotchety shop guy just shakes his head in disgust. When he was finished swapping the lever out he wouldn't even hand me the box or look me in the eye. I don't know if this was an error by Sram/Rock Shox or by the shop, but the response to me simply asking a question of how I could get back what I left them with is ridiculous and down right rude. I will not go here and do not recommend anyone else go here unless you enjoy being treated like a POS. Laurie is the only adult in the place that knows how to treat people. read more

Great shop for service! I took my dirty mountain bike to Storm Cycles for a basic tune. When I returned for it, it was not only tuned up, but they had cleaned it. It looks brand new. The cleaning was unexpected and much appreciated. Time to get it dirty again! Everyone at the shop was very courteous and knowledgeable. Tip: This is a busy shop, sometimes you have to leave your bike and get it back a few days later. read more

Best Bike Shop in UTAH!! Why, they take the time to educate and support customers from early stage bike research all the way to purchase which sometimes can take weeks or months especially for me. Also, theire expertise is unsurpassed. I have been mountain biking for a few years but on a hard tail bike so i am no expert and have limited knowledge but because of Storm Cycles i learned a lot. Talking with Eric, Erica and Lori over past month or so, my friend Brian and I learned a lot and then we went in yesterday to purchase Pivot 429 bike for each of us. Went in to have a easy service done ... maybe 15 min. Service guy have a bad attitude and said it would take 2 weeks to fix . I told him not to worry , I would take it someplace else ... I wont be back there are plenty of great bike shops in the area , don't need to deal with Storm cycle. read more

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, we rented demo mountain bikes here this past summer and will definitely be returning next time we want to demo a Pivot or Trek Bike. I was visiting the area last week and rented bikes near my condo in Old Town Park City. My wife and I rode several miles and my rear tire went flat while we had lunch in this shopping center. I coincidentally saw Storm Cycle while pushing my bike through the shopping center to figure out my next move. Storm had the tube and refused to let me install it because "I had already been through enough". I looked into the shop area to see was taking so long, and they were truing the wheel, too! Just wow. I can't say enough good words about the staff, the bike and my overall experience with Storm. I was visiting/riding with a friend who lives in PC and I was able to demo my exact bike I have at home (Pivot SwitchBlade) so all I needed to do was bring my pedals. So nice. They set the suspension sag to my specs and just dialed me in perfectly. I've rented/demo'd bikes in the past and they're usually leaving me with something to be desired. I have to share a story of their customer service. I brought my Fox shock in for service and they took care of it. It was working great and when on a trip to Finale Ligure with a ton of DH stuff I blew all the circuits again. Not their fault, but they refunded the cost of their service and sent it off to Fox for the deep-dive service. I thought that was total class. I didn't ask for any special treatment, they just treated me right. They also have a ton of product on hand, and carry a badass line of bikes (many with demos). It's my home shop now for sure. read more

The staff at this store are incredibly help and nice . I came in to buy a dropper post for my daughter . They had what we needed in stock and found a work around to make it fit for her. They were swamped with repairs and still managed to get her bike done the same day. I wish I knew the name of the gentleman who helped me. On a cross country road trip when I noticed I lost a bolt to hold my front tire on. Stopped in and told them what I needed. Within 5 mins bike was fixed and I was back on the road. No charge!!!! Highly recommend! read more

Bought a $700 Trek mountain bike for my girlfriend to start out with. Explained price not so much the issue as her being comfortable and bike being the right size. Very limited selection of bikes for 5' 7" person. Store assistant seemed knowledgeable however and I left him to it. When the bike had been selected, I checked with him to make sure it was a good starter bike -- could be used on trails etc. My girlfriend has been riding bikes for years but new to mountain biking. Took the bike out. Never seen a gear shift that jerky/violent in 30 years of riding. Seat was extremely uncomfortable. Can't believe Trek would make this bike, Storm Cycles would sell it, and the salesperson would sell it for the use as described. After some discussion and only having ridden the bike once, they ended up taking it back for 90% of price paid. I was told they had hundreds of happy customers on that bike. If that's the case, those customers certainly aren't riding on trails or even on any meaningful incline. Bike is incapable of shifting safely under ANY loan whatsoever. Not a "problem" with the bike which was in "perfect condition" as per Storm Cycles; just a crappy bike. Storm Cycles must have some kind of exclusive deal with Trek. Who knows. Just do not believe we were treated honestly, and return/refund process could have been a lot better. Why should I pay their 10% markdown fee? For the sake of $70, seems like a bad decision on their part -- lost me as a customer, lost my biking friends, and ended up with this review. read more

These folks know the local trails as well as anyone in town, and offer great bike brands like Yeti, Pivot, and Trek. Did I mention Trek? Also, the service department is top notch, especially Evelyn. Helpful guys--i had a good experience getting a minor repair done and they took care of it very quickly, while I waited.

I have been to the store twice. On the first visit I was looking for chain lube. No biggie, in and out. The second I was in need of a road bike saddle. I looked around the shop for a while. Shop employee approached after a few minutes. Told him what I needed. Was pretty much told "that is what we have" and that was it. When asked what other shop might be of help was told "I don't go to any other shops". Not very useful. So if I need a small part and DONT need help they are great. If I do need help I will go elsewhere. read more

Outstanding bike shop: best among quality area competition. As a frequent visitor to PC area, and with family in the area, I have visited all the bike shops in the area multiple times over the past decade. I've both rented bikes, and had my own bike serviced from multiple shops including Cole Sports, Jans / Whitepine Touring (same owner), and Storm Cycles. The quality of service and competition among PC bike shops seems much higher than typical. That said, I believe (as do my long-time local family) that Storm Cycles is the best all-around bike shop. My dealings with Storm Cycles have been fairly extensive, including purchasing accessories, renting a bike, bike tune-ups, MTB shock overhaul and even a wheel rebuild. Troy, Juan, and every other staff member it seems are pleasant, professional, efficient, knowledgable and highly skilled technically. The inventory of accessories (tools, clothing, hydration, shoes, etc), covers everything you would need, and appear to be the best versions of whatever a cyclist might be looking for. The same goes for the bikes available for rent or purchase. (And it doesn't hurt Storm's ratings to be: 1. conveniently located at Kimball Jxn shopping complexes, a natural first stop for anything & everything on way to PC, after exiting I-80/SLC, and 2. is connected to a great coffee shop.) read more

So I cannot say enough positive about this team. We ordered my wife a bike earlier this year, there were delays with manufacturing (nothing they can do there) they kept us in the loop and as the delays continued called us when they had a similar bike become available. They rushed to swap out my wife's pedals, seat, and prep the bike so we could leave for a long bike trip. Then to top it off while on our trip our bikes were stolen! Storm was AWESOME sending us all the serial numbers and receipt info ASAP, they also went the extra mile and called the manufacturer and got us replacement bikes shipped to the store (even offered to ship them to us). How do you get a customer for life? THIS is how you do it. The sales and shop team has been awesome from the first time I went in to buy tire sealant to the day we bought our first bike from them. As long as I am in Utah I know where I will be buying my bike equipment. Lauri was amazing at lowering my stress as I was across the country dealing with insurance and the police, the shop team was great getting my wife's bike fitted BEFORE we went on the trip. Thank you for the awesome customer service! I always feel welcome in the store and appreciate the tips either on bikes or rides! Every time I walk into this shop I'm immediately asked if I have been helped. This is so helpful in a bike shop since I feel like I never know who is an employee and who is a customer. Eric was so helpful when I had to find myself a new helmet (crashed and broke mine). Great, no bs advice on purchasing a helmet. Very helpful. I was also looking for a new saddle and Eric let me throw a few different saddles on my bike and ride them around the neighborhood. Walked out with a saddle that I love. I have used and been to many bike shops in Park City, and Salt Lake and everyone at Storm is amazing. Recently when my daughter lost the brake pads on her bike the night before a race they were willing to rush to bleed the brakes and get her bike back in order so she could race latter that day.
