Never got to eat. Watched people get seated after I was put on waiting list. They were just walkins as well. Not a place for a solo traveler. Oh well read more

This place is really good for dogs. And it is good for people too. The burgers are awesome. Who ever heard of a PBJ burger right? Well it is better than it sounds. Really it was great. And the loaded fries were just great. Sometimes cheese sauce can be so so. But here the cheese sauce was amahzing. And onion soup sliders. whaaaat! Was just terrific. It was so hard to give anything to the dog. read more

Over expensive. Not worth your time. Ithaca ale house right next to it is much better.

Good reviews so we decided to try Reds for dinner while in town. Loaded tots & fries were good, burgers were ok, drinks a bit limited. Expected a little better from the reviews, they seemed short staffed so maybe that affected our service read more

To be honest, we were visiting Ithaca for 24 hours, and we originally planned to go to a different restaurant based on recommendations. That restaurant was closed, but Reds was next door. And thank goodness it was. This food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I live in Chicago, and consider myself a bit of a food snob. Their French onion burger was one of the best gourmet burgers I have ever had, it was so moist, flavorful, and tasty! I will dream about this burger, if only I didn't live in another time zone! read more

Stopped here for lunch while traveling through. It was delicious. My husband had apple bottom burger with a red martini. I had the vegetable ciabatta sandwich. We loved everything. read more

Claimed their kitchen was backed up and there would be a 30 minute delay to getting our order. Received food after 1+ hour wait. If part of your kitchen staff takes off July fourth you would think management is sensible and intelligent enough to bring in additional people to fully staff a kitchen on a major holiday. ~95% of patrons currently seated inside have no food on their table. Terrible communication throughout the wait. Unfortunately the food was very meh. Sweet potato fries were thoroughly burnt, while the lamb burger came out burnt, dry and utterly devoid of flavor. The turkey sandwich came out better but still ended up being quite dry. Maybe this was the B team in the kitchen today, but just shutting down for the day would be preferable to the shitshow I just witnessed from 1pm to 2:40pm. read more

Delicious sweet potato fries and Cubano sandwich. Friendly and accommodating service.

I have always loved red's. It's such a nice casual American fare food place. My go to is always their crabby paddy sandwich w/ their steak fries or the sweet potato waffle fries. It's consistently tasty. I also love their tater tots and their mahi mahi tacos. It's nothing super new or inventive but you can always count on the food to be filling and delicious. read more

Been here twice while in town for work. Food is really unique and so good! The staff was very friendly. The other clientele could be a little loud, so it's not a quiet meal (not necessarily a bad thing but just a warning). Overall one of my favorite places in Ithaca. read more

Had a quick app and drinks. Sad we didn't have time to come back for a full meal while on our trip.

It was great, from the staff to the beer to the food. Excellent! I had the Cuban sandwich - very good! Husband had a burger and daughter had a flat bread pizza. We all loved our choices. Daughter later ordered the fried dough bites with caramel sauce..she ate every bit. Would definitely return!! read more

The food was excellent. We were a party of 4 and not one person had a complaint about their food. The service was great. If we are ever back in Ithaca we look forward to coming here again!! read more

We were just wandering around, looking for a place to eat, no real plan in mind and found this restaurant on Yelp. After some discussion, we decided to just give it a try and I am sooooo glad we did. Firstly, service was really really good. The waitress helping us was very friendly and helpful with giving us suggestions when needed. Second, food was AMAZING! I can't voice how good it was, but let it be known that it is probably in my top 10, ever (and I deem myself to be a certified gourmet). If that is not enough to convince you, my brother (who is pretty picky when it comes to food) was fully satisfied and content with the food. I personally adored the French onion soup bowls, so much that we got another order, even though we were all so full from our entrees. We also really enjoyed the steak sandwich (can't remember the exact name, but it was a clever pun). The tater tots as a side were a favorite of my dad's and my mom shared the mushroom sandwich (something about love) with my younger brother. Everything was delicious, definitely hit the spot. As it was a nice day, we decided to sit outside which definitely added to the experience. With the breeze and the sun, along with amazing food, lunch was enjoyable (understatement of the year, because it was so much more but I can't find the right words). I hope that you enjoy it just as much, if not more than us! P.S. Sorry for the lack of photos, we ate everything up too quickly. read more

Nice atmosphere, but my turkey burger was oddly too sweet. Good drinks and service though, and the steak fries were yummy.

If you want a good burger in Ithaca, this is the place to go. I thought the burgers were juicy and delicious. The steak fries were also amazing with a crispy outside and soft inside. I would highly suggest you make reservations for this place because it can be very crowded, especially if you are going with a large party. Service is pretty good but nothing amazing read more

We stopped for lunch on our way to tour Ithaca College. This place was bustling but the service was still fantastic. We chose to eat here based on the array of vegetarian options. Ironically they forgot to leave the bacon off my salad. But that's okay. I ate around the bacon and it was delicious. We also ordered the caprese flatbread which was delicious. But the best entree was the mushroom melt! The bread was out of this world! We recommend and We will definitely be back! read more

Hands down the best service and food we've had at a downtown Ithaca establishment. We've been here for 4 days and have tried just about every place in the Commons area and Red's crushes them all!!!! Wings were to die for!!! Server, unfortunately I can't remember her name, was extremely pleasant and attentive whereas most places we went to it seemed we were bothering our server every time we asked for something!! Absolutely amazing food. I'm a little upset because I finished my food too fast. The fried chicken sandwich was perfection. My order was one of the best chicken sandwich I've had. Additionally the fries were absolutely fantastic and the best I've had in North America. I highly recommended this place for its great food, great atmosphere, and great service. The staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. Great place to bring friends, family, and romantic interests. read more

Had dinner here yesterday on a whim as we were passing through Itaca on our way back to Watkin's Glen. The food was very good, our party had the unbeleafable salad, mahi mahi sandwich, turkey burger and cáptese flatbread. My son had the s'mores for dessert and there were no complaints from anyone about the food!! Service was efficient and our server was friendly and courteous. Red's Place is an amazing restaurant with a beautiful and spacious indoor seating area along with an outdoor sitting area for those warmer, sunny days! They are dog friendly for those who are interested in bringing their dogs in to dine with them which I thought was so awesome. Their menu is super creative with a multitude of choices for all who come in. The wait staff always promises excellent, speedy, and personable service making the Red's Place experience that much better. My friends and I stopped in during the Ithaca Apple Fest to try some of their spiked hot apple cider; warm apple cider with rum! It was boozy and delicious, highly recommend. In terms of the food I have ordered from Red's, all of the burgers are juicy and filling so you can't go wrong with them. I also have had their Chicken Caprese Salad; it lacked on the chicken, but it delivered on the mozzarella, tomatoes and balsamic! Lastly, you CAN'T go wrong with the loaded tater tots, definitely a favorite of mine that keep me coming back. Overall, Red's place is a great place to go, whether with family or friends, for great food, drinks and atmosphere! Definitely head over to Red's. read more

Awesome burgers at Reds, with great quality meat and tasty cheese and toppings. Fantastic beer as well. I ate here during the summer outdoors at the socially distanced tables, and I was pleasantly surprised last week to find out that they do to go orders as well (I don't feel comfortable personally dining indoors yet). The burger was unscathed during the drive home and still warm and delicious. This is a great gastropub for comfort food for sure. read more

Tried to eat here tonight while in Ithaca from out of town. First stopped in the check if there was a wait before exploring the Commons. The hostess assured me there was no wait so I told her we would be back. After shopping, we head back to the hostess only to be told they weren't seating anyone for a half hour in order for the kitchen to "catch up". Annoyed but still willing to wait, we waited. Upon the half hour mark, we head to the hostess stand for the third time only to be told they were no longer serving food, for the rest of the night. No explanation or offer of compensation for a waste of time. Terrible customer service. Do not give them your business. read more

Great food, friendly and professional staff. Highly recommend! The French Onion Burger was fantastic!

Lovely outdoor space to eat on closed street. The food was very good and also had nice selection of beers. Be prepared for a wait though.

Wow we actually loved this place. Tristan and I were seriously starving and we came in on a busy weekend night before the rush though (no wait- thank god)! After we sat, the wait went up to 50 mins insane! Service was pretty slow cause of the busyness, but the waiter was attentive and very nice with whatever we needed. I ordered the chicken pesto broccoli sandwich with a side salad. It was amazing! So delicious and the apple cider dressing on my salad was so savory. Tris ordered the aurora street burger and steak fries. He loved both and said the fries were amazing. We left some room for dessert and he got smores while I opted for the donut with purity ice cream. Both were so sweet and great, just different flavors. the donut was freshly fried and warm and the ice cream melted perfectly. It's raspberry drizzle added the right tough. Tristan liked how his brownie chunks melted into the graham crackers. affordable and yummy dining experience in downtown read more

Great place - nice people, good food. Porks and Rec was spicy and sweet, with a perfectly toasted ciabatta. The Please Romaine Calm, recommended by Steve the bartender (knows his way around the bar and has a great sense of humor & engagement for everyone at the bar) was an excellent flatbread with the garlic, capers and red onion balancing for an almost umami like flavor. read more

Daughters burger was burnt and dry, my drink had a wrapper in it and the waiter was very slow and inattentive.

I've been here on two separate occasions, and what I've decided is, that the meals are meh and the appetizers are AMAZING. I've had both a burger and a salad here and they were okay. Beer selection is great and all, but I've also come here both times with groups, so we've always gotten some apps and all the apps I've tried have outshone the meals. The mini soup bowls were great, the samosas were great, cheesy artichoke dip was great, lots of great apps. Ill definitely be back to have apps and beers with friends.
