I had a prior positive experience with Red where he was timely and effective in his estimates and repairs and with his billing. Unfortunately, things were the exact opposite this summer for me - and a number of others based on other reviews and correspondence. He has had our bike months. He won't call us back. We just want the broken scooter back at this point. His voice mail is off. Hasn't returned notes or text messages. His neighbor businesses say he had been back in the store and his landlord says his rent is current except for this month. UNDER NO circumstances, would I leave a bike there until he gets things straightened out. I will post again if he emerges from hiding. Red- if you're reading, I'd strongly consider taking down this post if you get right with us! This is ridiculous at this point. I just sent you another text. Legal action is forthcoming from us. I've had my bike in his shop for 1 year and 8 months. I've attempted many times to contact him but it's just nearly impossible. He and I actually worked well together on ideas and plans for my bike, and I was very hopeful. It's been more than a year since I last spoke with him dispite my efforts. I dropped off my motorcycle at Red's over a year ago now. I was in contact with him for the first 2-3 months. He said had lots of work and was really backed up which is why it was taking longer with my motorcycle. I was patient and told him no worries. At around 4 months I stopped being able to contact him. He was never at his shop and never answered the phone. At 6 months i called the police to see if there was anything i could do to get my bike back. I continued to stop by periodically and call and never could get ahold of him. At around 9 months i found the landlord and tried to get information from him. He was less than helpful and told me his hands were tied even though the mechanic "Red" was not current on rent payments and he easily had grounds to evict him. It has now been over a year with me trying constantly to get my motorcycle back with no success. read more

Dropped my bike of in July. Haven't been able to get ahold of him since. Tons of other people are having the same issue. It's completely crazy. I'm proceeding with legal action now just to get my bike back. Highly do not recommend this place. However, the chance of him being at the shop or answering a phone to take a new client is so small I'm not worried about this happening to anyone else. read more

This is no longer Reds. It is run by Brent Black who is a swindler and will do everything in his power to con you. I paid him to work on a motorcycle over 1 1/2 years ago and he has not contacted me since July of 2019. He will not answer calls or texts from me or my wife. When calling from a different number and asking about bike work, he called back and when he realized it was us, he hung up and would not answer. We just want our bike back at this point. We tried to catch him at his shop and he drove off and called the police on us to order a no trespassing. He is as shady as they come and I can only pray that no one else trusts him like we did. read more

Red's Motorcycle Repair is a dishonest one-man "business" that has essentially stolen $2500 from me: - I took a damaged scooter to him a couple years ago (purchased for $700 and subsequently damaged by a friend in an accident with a parked car) because I saw on Google that Red's Motorcycle Repair was the nearest open repair shop. Red assured me that he was the premier authority on Chinese scooters in the US, and he promised he would be able to repair the scooter at a reasonable price way under $700 (I specifically asked him about this because I wanted to cut my losses if the cost of repair would be higher than the value of the bike). Several months and more than $700 later, the scooter was finally "ready." - The "repaired" scooter lasted less than a day. There was an electrical issue preventing the battery from charging during operation of the scooter (so the battery died). I took the scooter back to him, and there was nothing he could do because he said the parts weren't available. - Red offered to instead "trade in" the scooter for me. Wanting to recoup the value of the scooter in some way, I agreed to pay an additional $1800 for a different scooter, a Honda Elite 250 that he assured me would last ages and be the best scooter ever. He said that it was worth over $2500 and that he would be more than willing to buy it back from me. I foolishly trusted him. - The scooter had problems (couldn't break 55 mph despite being 250cc, had a faulty speedometer, etc.). I tolerated this for a while, but when some internal parts came loose (rendering it useless until it could be fixed up), I decided it was time to buy a used car instead. I took the scooter back to Red and asked him to make good on his promise to buy it back. He said that he didn't have the cash but that he could resell it for me instead. I gave him the key and title so that he could sell it. - Red disappeared (stopped going to his shop and stopped answering calls and text messages) and never reappeared. It has been a year and a half. - I was able to get hold of him *briefly* a few times over the first year of his disappearance, and each time has made bizarre claims about his family and health situation (probably so I would feel bad and lay off for for another couple months). For the last six months or so, I have been entirely unable to contact him. By chance, though, I ran into one of his cousins at his shop about a month ago when I tried going over there to surprise Red (I've tried that lots of times, but he is never there); his cousin had no idea about any "health issues" Red might be having, but he offered to take my name and number and have Red contact me. - Red never contacted me. He has all of the money I paid him, plus my scooter and its title. He is alive and in contact with others (as confirmed during my conversation with his cousin), but it seems that he intends to make off with my money and property. I sent Red a final message telling him that he needed to contact me and make things right. No response. - UPDATE: After I posted this review, I received text messages threatening that I would be sued if I did not remove my negative reviews of Red's Motorcycle Repair on Google and Facebook. I have not removed my review (and will not remove my review). He seems to be recreating/manipulating the Facebook page in some way so that his negative reviews disappear. read more

Red is the man! Extremely knowledgeable, kind and honest. He does great work and won't screw you over with the cost of labor. Gets the job done fast so you'll be back on your bike. He's easy to get a hold of and will bend over backwards to get your bike running the way you want it. Finding a good motorcycle repair shop is tough sometimes but Red's has met and exceeded my expectations. The reliability of his work and pricing is comforting. I will always be using Red's. Every time I have been satisfied. I can't complain that it may have taken one or two days longer than the other shops. He's busy because he's good at what he does and people go to him because they trust him. And the price is about 3/4 of the other shops that quoted me. An extra day is a small price to pay for that kind of work. read more

First off, I'm one of those guys that never takes the time to write reviews. However, after reading the super positive review from Mike G. and then having a completely different experience, I thought that I might help set some people straight. The pros: Red is a good guy, easy to talk to. He also knows his way around any bike. I'm sure he could fix any problem. He seems to accurately record his labor hours. The cons: His bike knowledge is completely overshadowed by his lack of professional business practices. After bringing in my bike to have work done, I received it two months later. I've never experienced this before in any other repair shop. Also, he was super difficult to get a hold of because he works his own hours. (It took me a month just to figure out what was going on.) This made me nervous as a customer as he not only had my deposit, but my motorcycle. How it ended: After getting my bike back, and recognizing that things were not in good operating condition, I called him to request help. After he replied that there wasn't a good time to retrieve my just serviced, non-functioning motorcycle, I gave up on Red's Motorcycle repair and immediately called up another repair service. read more
