Our brand name rental car reported low tire pressure less than 30 minutes after leaving the Rochester airport. We filled it but it was down to 19psi the next morning. The rental company's road side service called Red's. What a great choice. Despite the rental company's overall confusion about the existence of a spare tire (we finally checked, there wasn't), Red's stayed committed to helping. Finally early in the evening Red's towed the rental and returned ~11:30PM with a replacement, a process that took them several hours. All the while they remained in good spirits and did follow through on their committment to not strand us without a car. If we lived here Red's would be my go to car guy. read more

So driving home last night my left rear wheel came loose. I pulled over and was just about to fall off. Called AAA- they sent out a gentleman from Red's Auto Works ( his name was Rich) Friendly and reassuring. They flatbedded ot to their shop-and it was done by this morning-(replaced studs and swapped out wheels and tires. The cost was fair and reasonable-turn around quicker than expected. Very affordable, quality auto repair. Outstanding service. Our car broke down during a trip to the Finger Lakes. After a call to AAA, the owner (AAA affiliate) actually came to pick us up and tow the car (Very patient guy, since we had no idea where we were). This was around 10pm. We explained that we were from out of town and had been on our way to a campground when the car broke down. After arriving to the auto shop, he amazingly offered to take us in his personal vehicle to the campground (camping gear and all), which was a good 20-30 minutes away. This at 10pm on a Saturday. A few days later the car was fixed, and at about half the price of what I had been expecting. The owner himself came out to check the fluids since we were headed back home, a 4 hour trip. We woke up to a flat tire at our hotel and called State Farm Roadside Assistance. We were told they would be out in 45 minutes. We were told the tow truck driver would notify us on arrival. We were staying with friends and they notified us that there was a tow truck parked next to our car after a half hour. We hurried down and and the driver was pissed. He was the most miserable person I had dealt with in a long time. He never offered to take the tire back and patch it or suggest somewhere it could be patched, Overall, a horrible experience!! read more
