Won't be shopping here anymore, they have gotten ridiculous with their pricing. I bought a planter that was originally from big lots, still had the tag on it but they had scribbled out the original price where u couldn't see and priced it at 35$ when i get home, i decided to scrape their scribbling off to see what the original price was at big lots 9.99! Freakin shady... and i found a bunch of glasses, all the exact same glass, but different prices, 6.98, 3.98, 2.98, 1.98 i took them to the front thinking the lady was gonna adjust the price and make them all 1.98, she refused, then another lady came over said she would give them all to me for 3$ each... even the one that was marked 1.98 i was charged 3$ for! I came to this thrift last Friday and tried my luck at their silent auction. I was the top bidder for an entire week up until the very last day of the bidding. I was told someone outbid me by $5 making the item I wanted $20. I was misinformed by a worker in person that I can bid over the phone at amounts of at least $5. When I called I was told that my bid must be at least $30 since I was making it over the phone, because bids for an item over the phone must reach a minimum of $50. I originally bid for $15 and in order to win the auction I needed to bid at least $30 more dollars to win. I am extremely dissatisfied with the false information I received and this was not a good experience for me. I don't think I would ever try the silent auction here again. read more

Overpriced. We were there on Friday and 3 of the item we were buying were "not for sale". They had a price on them yet not for sale. The older Hispanic lady working there priced everything high or says not for sale or co sliders certain items "not Christmas" so no discount yet clearly on the basket I was buying said do not open til Christmas. read more

I have been going to this thrift store for about 14 years now & although I have had some bad experiences I had never felt the urge to write a review until now. I work remotely & try & take a quick break to go on Monday's especially since it's their half off sale. Yesterday I went in & found the most perfect gift to myself for Christmas (an angel with two side candle stands). It had the price of $199 & a small break in the wing but I loved it so much & excitedly asked the clerk to ring me up. That's when she said it wasn't for sale. Confused, I couldn't understand how they would have something on the floor with a price but kept saying, "It's not for sale!" I asked her how when it has a price. She said, there are other pieces & they're not here so I can't sell it. I'm thinking, I have worked in customer service for years & if I would have given that answer to a customer, I would expect to get fired. You always find a solution & the correct answer would have been, no problem, let me get you the other pieces. She kept refusing & ignoring me. Finally I decided I would no longer address her & got the attention of the gentleman at the front. He was so helpful & he called to another man working there to go get the pieces. I was finally feeling like I was being heard & treated like a customer. Then, when I go to pay she tells me, there is no half off. Another thing which I had to argue with her on. She would not budge, & that's when I told her that I really wanted it & if she was not going to give me a discount, so be it. I really wanted the item. I'm not upset that I paid full price, I'm more upset at how I was treated & I don't understand how if they don't strictly specify in the front of the store or on the actual item how they can choose who gets a discount & who does not. Sounds unfair & prejudice. I love coming to this store because I'm an eclectic person & often look for those original & interesting items you can't find that easily but, this may have been my last trip there. If you bid on something, take a picture of the item and the card. I placed a bid on a purse and when I called to get the status on the bid, I was told that they didn't have my information .. so I described the purse and when I was there. They took my information over the phone, even though they said that they're not allowed to do that but they made an exception. Well,the girl, Jocelyn, got the wrong item even after I described it in clear detail. I was told that I won the bid. I drove 50 Effin minutes one way to pick up my item just to find out it was the wrong one. No kind of compensating was offered for her fat mistake. Horrible customer service and efficiency. In the 11 years that I've lived in the IE, I have never purchased anything here. I always give it a shot but to my disnay, I never find anything. This doesn't mean that you won't. Maybe it's just my luck. Thr racks for the men's clothing are always so bare and very limited on the items you seek. Perhaps they don't get a lot of donations, I really don't know. A sign has been posted in the back, "Silent Auction." I assume this is where you'll find the jackpot if sielent auctions is your thing. Who knows? I won't be back because I find it's a waste of my time to even browse this place. However, I've always been greeted at the door. I used to love this thrift store but it seems as though they recently raised their prices and they also got new staff that are not very customer service friendly. I was there around noon today and I'm still In disbelief with the cashier's bad attitude. When I saw my receipt after I left I was like since when are kids 3t jeans and a kids jacket and two kids dresses that expensive here!? Wow I am still in disbelief with the change in prices and then on top of that getting and nasty attitude from the cashier over Apple Pay (not about the prices). I recently had a bad experience at the Redlands Thrift Store. So much so, I don't plan to shop there any time soon. I always knew the furniture and items were overpriced, but the Monday half-price day helped. I recently purchased an old rusty shelf from the outdoor door patio area that had been sitting in the rain and elements outside for my closet. It was priced $99, way overpriced I knew, but I was desperate to organize my closet since my home is 100 years old and my closet so, so small. I tried to get a discount but of course they said no. They hardly ever work with you. My experience has been that the staff is extra mean and stern, and the supervisors are mean- spirited as well, especially on prices or if asked for a wee discount. Now I know why! I purchased the over priced rusty rack. A small man who I believe is a supervisor; I assume helped me. Another worker had to ask him to go verify that first it was actually for sale and second the price. He helped me bring it to the cashier and told the cashier to "charge me $99 and no discount" He made a point of it!! No discount he said!! He said it very proudly, even though I did ask if they if there were any discount I could get. We both saw the rust and worn condition. It was a stern "NO" So I remained silent and paid. So he helps me take it to my car, and on the way to my car outside we pass an older gentleman speaking to someone in a Big truck bringing in a huge load of furniture. The older gentleman had white hair and very prominent looking whom I assumed was the owner or a top person of the thrift store. The lil guy helping me started to give him high fives to the older white hair gentleman and say " Hey! look what I did" " I just sold this to her for $99." "Alright" Alright" It was on the back patio!! we did it" We got her to pay $99" $108 with tax. The young man was soooo happy and celebrating the sale. I said to him, "pls don't celebrate in front of me like that." I said you guys know that shelf was overpriced, rusty and had been out in the rain." I said please don't do that" And I explained that the only reason I'm buying it at that price rust and all is my closet is so small at home, I need it." And he paused his joy just for a sec but then continued to grin, and tell the "owner" Yay" Man we did good" He was so happy he got me for that much. And I said to myself, I don't care how desperate I am again, I will never again let that store overcharge me. I've donated to Redlands Thrift Store a few times. I've given to your organization and you've profited off of my FREE donations, and that's how you treat me, as a customer. Many people donate freely to you. Why greed? why mean spiritedness? why not give back? These things you receive are free! The things I have given may have helped pay this young man's salary. . Why overcharge and stand firm? Then celebrate when you "get" a customer? Why celebrate an overpriced sale at all when a customer has asked for help who really needs it and you got it for free? If I was fortunate enough to own a thrift store and I got my store got things for free, I would gladly offer a little 10 % or some discount just to pls the customer. Give back for the business. I understand profit, but not greed and mean spiritedness. God saw that purchase that day Redlands Thrift owners, and supervisors. I prayed to my God about your meanness and greed. God hates a tilted scale, cheaters and robbers. No I didn't have to buy it. But I've been searching for months for a smaller, narrow shelf, the right size since my closet is so, so small and narrow. It still didn't fit after I got it home. Even it was too big for the space. But the sadness I felt that moment being made fun of right in front of my face for making that purchase really hurt my feelings. Lol this store is like a BAD YARD SALE you walk away from scratching your head saying "they're trying to sell that" Just walked through the store to check it out and I will not go back again. This is worse than some of the bad Salvation Army Stores I've seen. Items are way overpriced for typical "thrift store" items (knick-knacks & glassware). Prices on silent auction had reasonable starting bids. Like $10. For rusty antique trundle sewing machine. I did find a Small wooden 12 inch doll chair I thought I would buy...$19.97!!! No thank you! I could get new one for less online. Appears they accept EVERYTHING regardless of the condition. Lots and lots and lots of Junk broken and missing parts with ridiculous prices. This place really is VERY VERY DIRTY Although there are Several Staff people hanging around .....on their phones. Set up is a bit clumsy. My curiosity took me there to see what I could see. The tall black man was extremely rude. I was 20 minutes before they opened and i was walking up to the building with headphones on. He spoke to me and before i could take my headphones off. And when I took them off to speak to him, he completely ignored me and turned on his leaf blower as I tried to get his attention he blew the leaf blower at me. such a shame cause this was my favorite thrift store will not be coming back. read more

I think the owner/ manager is feeling like they are a major department store with their ridiculous prices. Becoming the next Goodwill. Things are donated. Price gouging on things they receive for free. What really gets me is when the original price is still intact on an item for less than what they are asking for it. It's a good deal if you go on certain days, but still ridiculously priced high. I've ask about their silent auctions and how things are acquired and they've said it's from individuals who want to sell their personal items. Meanwhile, there's an employee who feels like he scored on a crystal set and ask the auction guy to look it up so they can either sell it high or action it off. :/ To be fair, I've come across some things that were reasonably priced and they are trying to make it easier to see their items by keeping it organized. But maybe take a set back and ease up on the price gouging. You'd be better off going to a yard sale or estate sale. Happy hunting. read more

Downgraded to just OK since my recent visit was full of customers not wearing masks and nobody was enforcing their "mask requirement". I always find interesting items here, some of them I'm even willing to pay for even if I think the price is a bit high. A lot of items are overpriced though. Customer service is questionable. Employees have this collective negative vibe, like maybe their boss sucks and they can't wait to go home. Either that or a completely flat affect, which is also not very welcoming. I visit multiple thrift stores every week and this one has the worst atmosphere, in my opinion. Whelp no longer 50% Monday thrift day for me. I religiously came here almost every Monday to find awesome finds at a great cost. Today I filled up a cart expecting my items would be 50% off. The lady proceeded to tell me that most of my items were only gonna be 25%. Clothes are no longer 50%. They're only 25%. You guys charge 3.98 for a pair of used shorts that fit a one-year-old. I would have got them if they were 50% off because I can justify that price for a thrift store. so I ended up putting them back because I can get a pair of shorts for my son at Walmart for the same price, not used. Crazy to take a sale away that y'all have had for so long that would attract many people to come. You guys get these items for free. Sometimes yall price things crazy and I only go in on Mondays so that I can justify spending half want you price it as. Not from the area, but I wanted to stop by a thrift store out here in San Bernardino! Really glad I was able to stop here. I came in looking for dresses and some fun tops, I found four that I really liked. The prices read that small sleeves were $3.99 and long sleeves were $4.99 which is fair. There was a dresses rack that was $6.99 unless noted. Unfortunately the dressing room is closed (COVID times). Originally I had picked up more clothes but returned some back because I didn't know how they were going to fit. I guess that's the best part with these low prices right? You can experience the with new clothing that you wouldn't normally pay higher prices for. As always, when it comes to clothes that are thrifter MAKE SURE YOU WASH THE CLOTHES! I was only here for the weekend, but apparently on Mondays everything is half off. I wish i was here during that time, I would have been more willing to buy the clothes and check out the auction that the lady at the register mentioned. read more

I went in today to buy one glass plate to go under my plant. $19,99. Yep $10 1/2 day. They are tripping. I watched multiple ppl walk out. Including myself. This place is wild. How dare they. Go inside, this place is wild w its prices. ZERO understanding how they are open. They sell broken items and want $9 for a large cat statue 12", thar is missing a chunk. They want $24 for a lamp that has a huge chuck missing out of it. They want $35 for a very well used doll house ... they want $150 for a small older tv... TVs are cheapest you could ever buy, they go brand new for $150 and you can get a 20" ....... BRAND NEW.... They have really junky stuff they are hoarding and wanting to sell, they have the sunglasses that you can get for $5 at five below... for $9 ... this place is WILD! They have way too munch junk inventory for anyone to even understand why they are hoarding it and not selling it... they have a huge storage full of donations and want the highest amount of $$$ for literal junk. Just go in and I can promise you, it is overwhelming w junk and the prices are ridiculously priced I had to laugh as I walked around I was in pure disbelief ... don't waste your time, everything has a tare, a chip, missing piece, or a stain, or too old to even work or use. What in the world is this place? My daughter and I were passing through Redlands and spotted the sign, and decided to go inside. It looked so promising, until we started to look at the prices. Outrageous!!! No lie, we spotted a half-burnt, old scented candle marked $9.99, and it had a tag on it from the store (Big Lots) for $2.99. Out of curiosity we asked the lady working at the front register why the price of the candle was marked so high when the original price was $2.99. Her reply was "we have to pay for these things".lol. And, the candle was just the beginning of the nonsense we saw in this place. I would like to know what charity this place is supporting, or if they are a non-profit. Either way, the potential for this place to be a gold mine for bargains is being lost due to their greed and inability to price items accordingly. Such a shame. read more
