One of the fun crafts she did.

My daughter attended Wednesday and Friday classes here for a few months and she had a blast! Two different teachers and two different level of classes and both she really enjoyed. Teachers are always prompt, they also don't allow students to just leave without the teacher seeing the parent picking up. OR the parent is allowed to sit and watch during the class. Whatever you feel comfortable with. They have a variety of classes to choose from. All range in age and skill level. I highly recommend if you're looking for something fun for your children.

Since then, I've toured many school campuses to enroll her, and I can confidently say that VPS offers an exceptional academic program along with outstanding after-school options. One thing that really stood out to me was the weekly presentations my daughter did. I believe they were based on alphabet items, though I may be mistaken. Regardless, these presentations were wonderful for building confidence and public-speaking skills at an early age. The homework reinforced what the children learned in class, and the at-home projects helped them feel proud and capable just like the "big kids." The after-school programs are excellent. My daughter did imagination station, sprout and blossom, violin lessons, and homework club. It provides strong academic structure while also teaching manners, confidence, and responsibility. The staff is wonderful and truly knows every child. The only downside I experienced was when I requested a transcript for my child while applying to a new schools. I was told that transcripts were not available for those grades. I had asked if they could write a letter indicating they don't have transcripts or to create in for me but neither was done. After that, communication seemed to drop off, and it felt as though we were no longer a priority once we had left the school. Overall, I would still recommend VPS without hesitation. The tuition is also very reasonable for an IB and private school. I truly wish we could return to VPS or find another school just like it.

I explained that I was completing my science prerequisites at another school and was almost finished, and that I mainly needed guidance on my general education classes. He pointed out I was still missing classes and that my original education plan was not designed for transferring to a bachelor's program. I was not aware of that and genuinely believed I was ready, so I asked for help understanding what I needed and how to move forward. At that point, his attitude changed. He became dismissive and clearly did not want to help once he realized I wasn't ready to transfer. I had taken time off work for this appointment, so I asked if he could at least help me map out the remaining classes. He responded with visible frustration handling papers abruptly and aggressively marking them with his red pen. While reviewing my transcript, he made a judgmental comment about how many classes I had dropped (even though I would retake them and pass). I explained that I had been my father's caregiver for 15 years while he was seriously ill and that he recently passed away, which impacted my timeline but now allows me to focus on moving forward. Instead of showing any understanding or professionalism, he continued without acknowledging what I shared. This was an incredibly discouraging and uncomfortable experience. If you are looking for guidance, support, or basic professionalism, I would not recommend Counselor Botra Moeung.

If you purchase a ticket to the Cheech, the RAM is included in your ticket price, or if you start at the RAM, the Cheech will be included that day. I came to the RAM this time around, specifically, for the 60 Miles East exhibit. This exhibit ends on 4/12, so make sure to swing by before then if you want to catch it. The exhibit contained many flyers, pictures, art, and even ticket stubs that brought me back to my childhood. It was in a clean and open space that made the experience enjoyable. This exhibit takes up only one room and there are other spaces to check out for additional art exhibits. I did notice less art, this time around, than in previous visits and many open spaces/walls were not taken up. Overall, I'm glad I got to enjoy this exhibit, before it ends, and it really highlights the Inland Empire's music scene as an important piece of diverse culture. Enjoy!

But when they announced the 60 Miles East Punk Rock in Riverside exhibition, I knew I wasn't going to miss it. The Riverside Art Museum was originally built in 1929 as a YWCA before being bought and turned into what it is now. You walk in and admission is right there. I went on Veterans Day so I got in free. Otherwise combo tickets that get you into the Cheech the same day cost $15.95. A good deal! The 60 Miles East exhibition is in a giant room filled with flyers, posters and clothing from bands and places all over the Inland Empire. It was super cool but made me a bit sad inside because I'd been to the Showcase Theatre on many occasions and still miss it. They also have art in another part of the gallery including a Shepard Fairley original. I wasn't expecting that! Overall the Riverside Art Museum is a place I'd for sure recommend. It's not real big but since you can go to the Cheech on the same day with your ticket, it's worth the admission cost. 60 Miles East runs to mid April so don't miss it! Support the arts!
