The quality of care given is very neglectful. The medical staff ignores patients needs and hygiene…read more I have seen patients fall out of bed and the staff didn't seem to care. When I asked for pain medication for my loved one, it took the staff almost an hour to get. So my loved one sat in pain. I don't recommend this place for anyone, but if you're having to go to a place I would recommend any where other than here.

If your love one is in the hospital and has a choice of where to be discharged do not go here. The…read morefirst reason is they are unstaffed with nurses, and aids. Most the ones they have are good and are nice, but management/owners load them down with to many patients, and they cannot be in two rooms at the same time. Mom had to continually hit here call button to try to get attention for someone to eventually come. The second reason is food. I would be there at some of moms meals, and she would taste and, start crying. I would say mom what is wrong? She said the food is horrible. Wanting to prove her wrong I said here, let me try it. I tried it and SHE WAS right, most the times just complete tasteless cheap slop. Mom continue to loose weigh here as she would taste a meal and then let it go back to the kitchen. We brought her some meals just so we would know she was eating, but were not able to be there for every meal. How are patients supposed to get strong and recover to go home when they do not eat healthy good TASTING food? The third thing is the rooms are small, and the place is in need of a remodel.

If your elderly family member still has cognitive awareness, don't walk, run away from this place!…read moreI wouldn't let my worst enemy live here. Staff treat people like things. They use agency personnel that are barely trained and very rude to the elderly residents. They are in cahoots with the ombudsman si no consequences ever happen when they treat people poorly. Move out of state if you want a care center that cares.

My mother was admitted to Marquis from Mercy Hospital after having a fall at her home and,…read moreapparently, suffering a mild stroke. At 97, mom was suffering from bouts of dementia, but with rotating caretakers, was still able to live at home. It was decided to move mom to Marquis for "comfort care" as she displayed all the signs of nearing the end and I just wanted to make sure she didn't suffer. (All the paperwork and details were sorted in an expedient and organized fashion, so I didn't have to worry about any of that and could focus on my mother). She wasn't happy being in the hospital and wasn't all that jazzed about being moved to Marquis for rehab... However, it didn't take long for the staff to earn her trust. Her primary nurse, Robin (I hope I got that spelling right), was outstanding. She knew I was in from out of town and that I needed all of the information I could get and she ALWAYS made herself available if I had any questions. When she wasn't there, the other nurses did a wonderful job with mom. My mother was an extremely independent and proud person and did not like to allow anyone to do anything FOR her - but she let down her guard with the staff at Marquis and trusted them enough that her last week was as peaceful as could be expected. I am sincerely grateful for the care provided to my mother by the staff at Marquis - especially the personal attention they paid to mom - rather than just treating her like another body. Mike Ray
