The quality of care given is very neglectful. The medical staff ignores patients needs and hygiene. I have seen patients fall out of bed and the staff didn't seem to care. When I asked for pain medication for my loved one, it took the staff almost an hour to get. So my loved one sat in pain. I don't recommend this place for anyone, but if you're having to go to a place I would recommend any where other than here. read more

If your love one is in the hospital and has a choice of where to be discharged do not go here. The first reason is they are unstaffed with nurses, and aids. Most the ones they have are good and are nice, but management/owners load them down with to many patients, and they cannot be in two rooms at the same time. Mom had to continually hit here call button to try to get attention for someone to eventually come. The second reason is food. I would be there at some of moms meals, and she would taste and, start crying. I would say mom what is wrong? She said the food is horrible. Wanting to prove her wrong I said here, let me try it. I tried it and SHE WAS right, most the times just complete tasteless cheap slop. Mom continue to loose weigh here as she would taste a meal and then let it go back to the kitchen. We brought her some meals just so we would know she was eating, but were not able to be there for every meal. How are patients supposed to get strong and recover to go home when they do not eat healthy good TASTING food? The third thing is the rooms are small, and the place is in need of a remodel. read more

I would not even give them one star but you have to put one. I tried copper ridge after I had a hip replacement. I was transferred up from San Francisco. Because I livednear copper ridge. It was worse from the get-go. They first put a man in my room that was coughing. They didn't bother to test him first but he had covid-19. After they found out he had it they wouldn't allow me to leave. Not even go outside. And sure enough the next day I came down with covid. In the idiot doctor. Who should have his license revoked. Should go back to whatever country he's from. Refused to allow me to take the paxlovid. Refuse to return my request to speak to him. To tell him that I had taken it once before because I was a patient at Hill country. I think he was just too goddamn lazy to call the pharmacy. So therefore I ended up having covid for 30 days. No one would come into my room. Oh and by the way they moved him out and I think he died later. They put another guy in the room with me even though I had covid. And he was allowed to go anywhere in the building. While I was confined to my room. Nobody would come in and bring me food or my pain meds as scheduled and prescribed by the surgeon that did my hip surgery. After three or four days of absolute horrible care. I checked myself out and I had my electric wheelchair and I rode home. They threatened to call the police. I said call them I'm not here for psychiatric care and I can leave any God damn time I want to. And if you want to make an issue I'll have you arrested for elder abuse. I did file a complaint with the state but that was useless as they refused to answer questions regarding my care for HIPAA reasons LOL LOL LOL. Even though they were identified as state investigators. The place is 35 40 years old and needs a desperate overhaul. They even dug a hole out where the pond used to be and it's just sitting there. The curtains were falling apart next to my bed. I wouldn't take and leave my dog there. I almost fell several times thank God I knew what I was doing. In other words don't use these people at all. You're better off at home. I got better immediately because my apartment was so small that I actually could get around and do my own cooking. Thank God I got out of there. I got immediate health care for my covid and after 30 days of testing positive I finally tested negative. By the paxlovid is an excellent drug. It lessens the time that you have the covid and reduces the side effects from them. When I took it the first time I only tested positive for 3 days and then was better. Don't send your loved ones to this place it's horrible. read more

Doctor wanted my husband at copper ridge for 3 to 4 days to regulate new medication. Simple right. Experience , oxygen dropped to dangerous level at night. No one came to help him. He managed to get it under control himself.Next morning medications not given, breathing treatments not given.My daughter spent the day taking care of him. We brought him home ama because they could not locate doctor to release him. Brought him home at 6:30 pm. Copper ridge would not release his medications or talk to us about his medications. If this is skilled nursing. in Redding I feel sorry for those residents. My husband is late stage copd and requires oxygen 24 hours a day. Without it or if it gets below 70% he can die. The nurse on the floor that night was a cosmitogy graduate. One person on night shift for 35 patients. Shame on you. There was no one to help! read more

Use to be a nice place. New owners took over. New management came in. Now it's only seen as a money maker. Management says "At the end of the day, we still have a business to run" No you don't- you have staff and residents to tend to and if you don't have them, you don't have a business and all the money in your pocket. At the moment they have no cable due ehat They say they are switching cable companies. My grandfathers phone was not working . We called for maintenance numerous times. I used Copper Ridge after my wife had a stroke. Although she was there for only a short term, the service she received was beyond exemplary. The therapy she received in just ten days had her ready for discharge. They provided great food and impeccable facilities. The entire staff is friendly and helpful in every way. I cannot think of one negative comment to make. Day nurse Kathy is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, efficient, bright and patient. She deserves a pay raise and at the very least a promotion. You would do well to consider Copper Ridge. read more

I am so impressed with the staff at this rehab center, my 82 yr old mother became a resident after suffering a stroke and diagnosis of kidney and heart failure, she couldn't walk and could barely eat. My mother was in bad shape when she came to Copper Ridge. Within a day and a half, I went to visit and found that my mother was now walking with the help of her nurses and was eating about half of the meals she was being provided. The difference between how she was when she arrived and two days later is literally a miracle in my eyes, she is talking now and looks better than I have seen her in a long time and she absolutely loves the nurses and staff. I'm looking forward to seeing further improvements in the coming days/weeks, thank you Copper Ridge, I'm glad she landed there! If you're trying to get your loved on into a care facility, this is the one you want them in. read more

We've been extremely happy with the care given to our family member at Copper Ridge. She started there as short-term and became long-term. Every employee there seems to know her and can tell me what she's up to, how she's been feeling, you name it. I've eaten meals with her there and thought the food was pretty good. It's always clean and cheerful. Decades ago I worked in a similar facility near Los Angeles and it was a nightmare (smell, food, care). Based on that experience, I was leery when my family member went to Copper Ridge, but there is no comparison. I'm so glad this is the place we chose. PS, our mom was once a resident there for several weeks, and the service was good. It's better now. read more

This place is horrible. I'm sure they dope the patients to keep the quiet. Always quiet right around the same time every night. They're mean to the patients, don't follow their own procedures and seem to be bothered if the patient needs more than no attention. My grandmother fell twice in once week. Hit her head on the second fall, while on statin blood thinners. First thing, if this was at my house while under my supervision, I know she's to go in right away if she hits her head. I'm not a doctor, nor a nurse. Is comon knowledge for people that have to take or administer these drugs. If I didn't take her in it would be elder abuse. They didn't. They didn't when if first happened, and they didn't for another 6 hours! Then finally did after we bitched loud enough. Good thing nothing was wrong there, but she was still sick with another problem. They didn't listen to my concerns, or take my advise. As her care taker, I know when she's missing medications, I know when she's thirsty, hungry etc. So I tried to relay this information to the nurses as best as possible, just to get looked at like I didn't know what I was saying. Well... she missed her antipsychotics for 3 days and went through cycling. To top all this horror off, she only got worse in their care. Came out with more bruises than a beat up banana, scared of them, and weaker than when she went in. As soon as my family got her out of their care and into the hospital, followed by a beter rehabilitation/skilled nursing facility. She's doing so much better now. Be warned. They know how to talk themselves up. Read all the paperwork they make you sign. (57 signatures. WTF!!!?) They rush through the paperwork to. Like it's also another inconvenience for them. read more

Beware..My friend passed several months ago there! They stole her items and not willing to give them back to the family! Saying they weren't inventoried when they came in.. When the family went to retrieve the items they said we don't know what your talking about.Still giving the family the run around.They are very dishonest...Beware...The nurses are wonderful the Administrators not so much!!! read more

They have a wonderful Administrator and caring staff that work tirelessly to make the lives of their residents better. It's a really great facility. This is a great facility!!! It has its set backs as most do but the therapy dept is great ( if you let them help you) The majority of the nursing staff will give you all they can. People complain about pain mngmt but there is regulations that nurses can only give what is prescribed and when. Some people are used to taking what they want when they want it at home and this is sometimes a conflict. I did registry and I have been sent to every facility in town. I was really impressed with copper ridge! It's a hospital it will sometimes smell, and not everything can be perfect all the time. They do the best they can. and a lot of people request to return so it can't be that bad. read more

Best facility in the Redding area. I have had both family and a close friend admitted it to this facility. They have thrived and healed better than expected. The therapy and nursing department worked very well together towards providing the best treatment possible. I would recommend Copper Ridge to anyone and would choose it for myself. read more

I had a family member here at copper ridge. She came several times and she preferred coming here then anywhere else if she couldn't go home. She had many favorite nurses, nurses aids and she adored the therapy staff I would recommend copper ridge to anyone that has to get that little extra support and rehabilitation before going home. First let me start by saying that I have had to deal with skilled nursing homes all over Redding for a family friend for many years now. After being highly disappointed in another facility we made the tough choice to move him into Copper Ridge. At first we were very worried especially after the last experience we had but our worries were layed to rest after only the first day. The nursing staff was very attentive and knowledgeable, they did whatever they could to make him feel comfortable and at home. The facility was always very clean and never once smelled like the awful facility we had been at prior. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone and I hope if I'm ever in need it will still be there for my me. read more

My great grandpa was here for 6 weeks and the staff at Copperidge were always there whenever he needed assistance, and the activities offered there are over the tops amazing I have never seen such a caring, and positive environment. The facility is not transparent with family members. The Obervation Detail List was never reviewed for accuracy. They sent my mother home prior to her full rehabilitation and all they cared about is getting paid. She had a large hematoma starting on her forehead when we picked her up and noone knew how it happened. She fell more than a dozen times and would call me at 3am to tell me she fell, but would not put an alarm on her bed to stop her from getting up by herself. In the files they documented only a few falls, and none for the last 30 days, which was false. They told us she could lift her arm, cut her food herself, etc., but she is helpless in most aspects of life. Therefore our decisions for care after she left their facility were misguided. They didn't tell us until we arrived that we could have appealed to Medicare for her to stay another month, then forced us to sign the paperwork stating they told us it was an option. Read Kevin N. review. We had similar experience. The staff doesn't always wear masks and they allow patients to smoke and staff sits next to them without a mask. If you have another choice you should probably take it. read more

I would never recommend this place to anyone. We have had a horrible experience with them. They do not care for their patients at all. My grandpa had medication that was in his bed that the LVN Lindsey Ratliff did not give him. They were not monitoring his urine or his fever. He was severely dehydrated and they didn't even have water in the room for him to drink. In one day we had to go to the nurses station 6 different times because they were not doing their jobs correctly. Lindsey then wanted to try and pull a power trip over him being her patient. He is my grandfather and I will make sure he is cared for right. He is now in the hospital and will never go back to this awful place!!!! read more

This place doesn't really deserve even 1 star.... My first time walking in to visit a friend...... The smell was just awful.... We finally found our friend sitting in a wheelchair in the physical therapy room... Just sitting there.....! Finally someone came to help him.... When we went back to his room he was just left in the wheelchair... The gal that dropped him off said someone would be in shortly to help him in bed. Our friend said that it would be awhile that they always take at least an hour to get to you....there are no doctors on duty that I know of! This is not good especially if you are in any kind of pain.... It's bad enough getting old but to be in a convalescent home where they don't care about the quality of life is just the pits!!!! Never let anyone you love stay there.... Our friend was rushed to the hospital And thank goodness a visiting friend was concerned enough to keep asking someone for help.... Otherwise he may not of come out of there alive! He did say the food was really good... I guess that's worth the 1 star.... read more

I came to visit a friend here. This facility is so nice inside, the staff really works hard to keep it clean and right now the holiday decorations are amazing! My friend said everything has been great other then the pain from surgery. Lol they allow people to purchase meals for $4 so I stayed and had lunch. They had Salisbury steak, it was bland but good. i would recommend this place to someone read more

Copper Ridge is the best rehab in Redding. My mom has gone there for all but her first of 4 surgeries and that was because she didn't know about Copper Ridge aty the time of her first surgery. I am a care giver and have worked with people who were in and out of hospitals and would have to go to rehab before returning home and they went to many other places before they knew about Copper Ridge and they wouldn't go anywhere else once they were here. The staff always know the patients and when you have a question they always have the time to talk about whatever concerns you have and the PT is awesome! read more

The reason I like Copper Ridge is because the nurses are knowledgeable, kind, and alert. The certified nurse assistants are helpful, considerate, generous, tireless, and ready to respond to resident calls. The meals are amazing and have great variety, being carefully prepared, attractively plated, with alternates and options readily available. Physical therapy is the greatest thing about this facility. The therapists work very efficiently in getting people back from being unable to function before their latest incident. They challenge you to give your body necessary workouts so that there can be excellent results. They work carefully to provide any tools necessary with your best interests at heart. Occupational therapy has been amazing. They were able to help me go from being quite incapable to now being able to take care of myself, dress myself and even cook for myself. They also worked on areas I needed to build muscles that physical therapy had not covered. Because of my situation, I have really taxed the capabilities of the Social Services Department. My condition is quite difficult so they had to put in a lot of extra effort to try to find ways to accommodate my special needs. They not only tackled the difficult challenges but each member found ways to help me out. The facility layout is unique and offers several places to go to get out of your room. I love sitting by the waterfall during physical therapy and have watched deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, and all sorts of birds come and go. There's even a little Koi fish pond. I was surprised by the various medical services that were provided and as a resident, I even got new glasses during my stay! The hairdresser, Carla, deserves special mention. Her ever-present smile, dynamic attitude, and enthusiastic attention, makes this otherwise quite dull chore a unique and fun experience. Having been a visitor years ago when it was Applewood, I have been quite impressed with the high standards in place today. Not sure what other reviewers issues are with Copper Ridge but my 86 year old mother rehabbed there and I could have not asked for better care, the nursing staff were warm and friendly and knowledgable, theCNA's always had a smile on there face and treated the residents with respect while doing a very difficult job. Rehab went better than I could have ever anticipated. When I did have a minor issue with my mothers daily rehab routine the administration staff handled it on the spot. I for one can not thank the copper ridge staff enough for the care they gave my mother. read more

I have been a nurse for the last 13 years. I have worked or been in other healthcare facilities over the last several years and I can honestly say this is one of the best LTC/ Short Term Rehab facilities I've worked for. I am impressed with every department and their effort to make all of our residents/patients feel at home. Management is continually showing their respect and appreciation for its employees as well. I can honestly say if my loved ones needed rehab or long term care this is the only facility where I would feel comfortable bringing them. This facility is clean and smells wonderful. The have industrial air fresheners throughout the facility that keep the facility smelling great along with a stellar housekeeping department who is continually cleaning throughout the day. Need something repaired Maintenance is on it. All staff works hard on accommodating residents and family members whether it be food preferences, medication changes, even different activities for resident/ patients. The activities department continually has fun exciting outings, crafts, cooking and bingo which seems to be an all time favorite for all. Long story short if your family member needs a place to stay it should be Copper Ridge all the way. read more
