Customers shouldn't have to question their bill every time they visit. Transparent pricing is basic customer service. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling like there is always going to be another surprise charge added at checkout.

This was, by far, the best gel mani I have ever gotten in... maybe ever. Really, it made me yearn to move back. it was definitely worth the 40 mile drive. In the weeks that followed I did every conceivable thing to sabotage my nails. hauled furniture, gardened, painted, scrubbed with wire mesh, never, ever wearing gloves. It was insane how perfectly they held up. Not one break, chip, or peel off. Its been nearly three weeks now. If not for the fact that my nails have grown out, they look as great as the day I had them done. Not kidding. Those ladies have serious skills! I noticed that their process is in some ways different than the other salons and am certain those measures account for the durability and polish. They also don't rush or cheat. Another big thing for me... without my asking, both women took additional steps to correct or minimize imperfections in my nails - the sort of things that I feel embarrassed to call out. Over the years, I've been here a few times when I've been back in town, and my mom has come here once in a while, but not since Susan herself stopped working here. Before yesterday's visit, it never struck me as anything out of the ordinary, but they've made some amazing changes to their services which make this place really stand above the rest. My mom and I stopped in here for manicures early afternoon and were attended to immediately. The three technicians working (one male, two female) were very sweet, and attentive to my infant daughter who watched us from her stroller. I have had bad experiences with guys doing my nails in the past, so I was a bit unsure of how this would turn out, but the man technician who did my nails was top notch quality and super attentive to every detail in the process. My nails (and my mom's) look great, but the whole experience was worth waaaay more than the $10/manicure price we paid. Why? Well, with your manicure, you get a nice hand scrub and massage, a complimentary paraffin wax treatment for your hands (!!!), hot towel, a neck/back massage during the paraffin treatment AND a massage (with some deliciously warm neck compress) while your hands are drying. I've paid $15 extra for paraffin treatments in the past, and could not believe that this was all included in the $10 price tag. My mom also got a wrap put on one broken nail and it looks good as new! I will definitely make a point to come back here whenever I come home to Wilton.

She used to own New Burtis Nails in New Canaan. She was very nice and always took care of her clients. I had been wondering where she had gone (when I lived in New Canaan). I was in to get a gel manicure which Stephanie did. She did an amazing job! The color is beautiful and it has been a week and still looks as good as new. Stephanie was very sweet and talkative. I will definitely ask for her in the future. After I was finished with my treatment, Sarah gave me a bunch of coupons and a gift certificate for a pedicure for the next time. I went in the following day when i had time and that the most relaxing pedicure. It was nice and quiet when I went and I almost fell asleep. HA! After the massage, Sarah treated me with a free 20 minute chair massage by Mariam. She had the strongest hands and gave a wonderful massage. No complaints here! However, when it came time to pay the bill the new owner had the audacity to charge me extra for it. After arguing with her over this dishonest and misleading sales practice they took it off the bill. I also had a small gift certificate from 6 months prior and the new owner laughed at me saying it was old and couldn't be used. I let her know Sarah gave it to me to use anytime for up to a year and she scoffed. The new owner is condescending and lacks courtesy and professionalism needed to retain her neighborhood clients. And she filled my nail bed so hard, it made an open, bleeding sore. Once more I pulled away. I showed her the spot. She grabbed my hand and continued to file. I asked her to stop touching that area. She huffed. That was the end. I get my nails done at least once a month, so I know a good manicure. This was NOT it!!!!
