But the last several times I've been to this location, it's been a huge disappointment. I've noticed that the women's section is full of OLD LADY clothes and you can't hardly find nice work wear for 30-40 age randge the uniors department has gotten smaller and smaller and the men's section is basically non-existent unless you're looking for sweatpants. They recently redid the shoe department and the aisles are so small that it's impossible to shop if someone else is in the same aisle. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. It's just too much of a disappointment

Aside from stripper shoes, this store offers cheap, overproduced junk with a price tag that could be matched by most shoe stores like it, such as Famous or DSW. It seems somebody in there is always stealing and, in fact, security has been apprehending someone there every time I have visited (about 8 times, since I park at this store to get into the mall--certainly not to shop).

I went into Famous Footwear in Stow on Thursday, January 13th and tried on boots. The cashier was…read morevery helpful and put the boots on hold for me to pay and pick up on Friday. When I went in to purchase the boots on Friday, a different young lady checked me out. She too was polite and helpful. When I got home and tried on the boots to show my husband, I wasn't sure if they fit right or not. (You see I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis in my feet. If a shoe/boot doesn't fit right, it's not good.) So I headed back to Famous Footwear about 2 hours later. I took the boots I had purchased with me so I could compare. When I entered the store, the cashier who had JUST checked me out as well as the one who helped me on Thursday night asked what I was doing. I shared that I wasn't sure if I bought the correct size and needed to compare with a different size boot. They said that they had to keep my purchased boots at the register- store policy. I said I needed them to compare sizes and my receipt was with the boots. THE CASHIER (associate #300423) THAT HAD CHECKED ME OUT JUST TWO HOURS EARLIER, TOOK MY PURCHASED BOOTS FROM ME. YES TOOK THEM RIGHT OUT OF MY HANDS! I was so taken back! I went on to try on the new size boots and walk around the store. Anyone who tries on shoes knows you need to know how two different sizes feel. So after trying to GUESS if I needed a different size by how the new ones felt, I finally went up to the desk where MY BOOTS (I had already paid for them) were and took one to compare with. After 5 minutes of walking around with two sizes on, I decided the ones I bought were probably the right ones. I then went and got my other boot. I walked around with them on and decided I would not be exchanging the boots for a new size. I then took my boots and my receipt and left. Let me clarify a few things, it was MY CHOICE to leave my boots at the register. Since only one other customer came in during the entire time, I would have thought those young ladies had plenty of time to help me, not make purchasing a new pair of boots of very negative experience. Money is tight these days folks, spend it at a business that is both helpful and deserving!!!

I went in wallet to get ID then realized I'd been out the night before and asked my husband to hold my Id so i wouldn't have to carry a purse. She said ok just come back with drivers license and I'll Do the exchange. I left Trip #2 I came back to the store with my drivers license the next Morning. Another girl was at register. I explained to her what happened the previous day then she told me that with my driver's license all she could do is give me a "current price store credit" which was a few dollars when I know my husband paid so much more only a week prior. Plus I'm trying to exchange NOT return! Now, while this might be the policy...the girl on trip #1 told me something completely different so as far as I'm concerned, that's what should have been honored ! Instead this girl refused to even exchange a gift for the same thing which to me is ridiculous. It's an even exchange for same Priced item and any other store would oblige. I told her that the day prior I was told all I needed was my ID for it to be done. She basically told me no and to do even exchange I'd still need receipts or card that was used. I didn't want to drive all the way here AGAIN so I asked who else can I talk to about this , to which she said in a smart @$$y way "well I'm the lead cashier so..." . To which I said , this is my 2nd trip up here. And I'm irritated because I came back here with what I was told I needed to have yesterday! She just stood there and looked at me as if to say "oh well" so I left before I said something. Trip#3 I came back AGAIN after going home and having my husband go thru each of his credit card accounts ( ridiculous) to see which card he used when he bought it. I took that card with me. There was a tall brown skinned sweet young lady there named Trinity . Gave me ZERO issue. She completed my exchange with impeccable customer service. And I appreciate that. The so called "lead" from the same morning interaction needs to work on her customer service. I wish I'd gotten her name. But I didn't Anyway...Dicks needs to get their front line employees together for a meeting so everyone is on the same page because there is no reason why a customer should have had to make 3 trips from Stow to Cuyahoga Falls just to exchange a Christmas gift that was under $20. Ridiculous. I've spent soooooo much money in this store over the years just to be made to feel like a thief. But thank you Trinity! You were great! Dicks...DO BETTER!
