I had received an email coupon from DSW so I checked out their shoes online. When I found a couple…read moreof styles that I liked, I decided to go into the store to see if I could try the shoes on. When I arrived, I realized that all of the shoes online are not necessarily carried within the store. They did have one of the shoes I had selected. I was able to try it on and walk around the store. The shoes were very comfortable, and they had many sizes between 9 and 12 in stock. However, they did not appear to have many wide shoes in stock. So, I will ultimately make my purchase online, but it was nice to go into the store and try on one of my selections. All of the staff who interacted with me were friendly and courteous. I'll definitely consider returning if I need to try on a pair of shoes, but I'll probably continue to make my purchases online. UPDATE: I went home that night and tried to order my shoes online. The email coupon would not work. It said that the coupon had expired which was not the case. I then started a chat session on their website. I found out that the coupon would not work with the shoes that I was purchasing. Apparently, almost every brand they carry is excluded from the coupons that they email their customers (see below). I don't think that I'll be making another purchase at DSW anytime soon. I was roaming around the store looking for things and noticed a large Samsonite golf travel bag. The golf travel bag had a clearance price tag on it attached via the security tag so it was not a tag that somebody who did not work there could not have placed on it because it went through the actual security. it did have some minor scuffs to it so it looks like maybe it had been used in returned or was not in new condition. I brought it up and waited in the very long line to purchase it because I thought I would make a good bag when I travel. the young lady at the register scanned it and told me that is not the correct price. I inquired how would she know that's not the correct price and she said we don't sell Samsonite at this price the sticker is blank. She then called the manager manager over who punch some numbers into a handheld device called the lady. Yes that is the correct thing. She then went and got another piece of Samsung night mortgage. It said no it should be this price he told me sorry this is the price it should be because both of these are Samsonite. Now my one of them was used. One of them was not one of them was on clearance, and one of them was not. so I declined to purchase it at that point. I was told well why did you bring it up here if you didn't want to purchase it. I kindly replied I wanted to purchase it at the price that your store price that. I was told clearly that price was a mistake and I should be smart enough to realize it at that point. Anna C helped us today, getting us into a couple pair of shoes to see which ones fit best. I needed a pair of darker color shoes so that I could get away from my dress shoes during the winter months. Super friendly, professional and helpful in getting us in and out of the store within 30-35 minutes. Always a great time seeing the various options, and making sure that the shoes fit nicely and are suited for immediate use.
