There is typically only one person working... not safe or efficient. Communication isn't great. We weren't called when boots were ready two orders in a row. Save your time and buy out of town or online. Walked in to purchase a new pair of redwings. One lady was at the counter assisting someone else . Male employee was sitting on his ass, and asked "can I help you with anything." I turned around to ask for a specific size at which point he decided to get up off his ass and decided to walk behind the counter and act like he was doing something else. Worse customer service. I started a new job and needed to get some safety boots. This was my first time trying on work boots so I wasn't too familiar with the process. I had two approved styles from Red Wing that I wanted to try out. Originally the gentleman that helped me said they were out of the style I requested. He offered to measure my feet so I could still find the right size. They have a really advanced tool that scans your feet and analyzes your stance. I stepped onto the scanner and then the gentleman showed me what my size was. The tool he used also had a feature that could translate your measurements into different styles of shoes. I was really impressed with the technology but there's never a replacement for expert knowledge. The gentleman explained that since my feet were a half size off and the particular shoe style ran a little big, he wouldn't recommend getting the bigger size because it was too big. Another sales associate, Tommy, stepped in and helped figure out that they actually did have the style of shoe in my size to try on. I tried on the pair and it turned out that the first salesman was correct on my shoe size. They were all so knowledgeable and patient. I recommend this store if you need quality work boots that offer support and durability. The staff are really professional and experts in fitting you with the right boot. read more

I've been buying the same BRNR XP with tuff toe for the pass 2 years I recently bought a pair of boots from Irene on October 16, 2019 With brown tuff toe but wasn't in stock so I was giving black. Here i am right now in the store trying to warranty the boots out because the sole is ripped and water goes through but won't do it because there mistake them for a old repair. Bryon did glue the sole n repair a ripped tuff toe. My boyfriend and I went to Red Wing Shoes while we were in Bakersfield CA. We had the greatest experience with a lady named Alisia. She gave superior customer service!!! She answered all his questions and mine!!! She had a smile the whole time and made us feel so comfortable while shopping. We went to one in our hometown and they never got up from behind the counter to greet us.... We will definitely be going back in for another pair for me next time we're in town !!!! If I could give zero I would, I paid $350.00 by the time I left the store, should have bought Wolverine's. I read the reviews and did not take them into consideration, thinking no Redwing can't be this bad, well they are. Take your hard earned money and business elsewhere. I brought the boots in due to the front sole coming apart, I install thresholds when doing flooring, I kicked the thresholds to insure they are down and not a trip hazard, this voids warranty I was told. These cheaply made Vietnamese boots are just that, the thresholds only stick up at most an 1/8 of an inch. I bought insoles as well, they are the most uncomfortable boot I have bought from Redwing, I have had their boots before, they quality has gone out the door the same as their customer service. Not the same boot it was 4 years ago, they would last back then... now, just garbage. You have been warned, don't be like me and over look other peoples warnings! read more

First of all I love red wings great boots very comfortable fit great was helped as soon as I walked in helped me get fitted and everything but long story short I spent around $210 on a pair of boots with a 6 month warranty about a month down the rode the whole top of my boot above were my steal toe is ripped about a 2inch spot in the leather and I have had many other boots from Ariat's all the way to wolverines and never saw this happen so I go into the store to see if he can help me with my problem he starts going on about if you buy a car and wreck it into a tree that's not the dealers fault there not gonna give you a car . Then I came back with if you pay for a warranty and it wasn't your fault the warranty will cover it right? Very good experience. Went in with a broken ratchet lacer thing (don't know the correct term) expecting a fight to get repaired. Employee greeted me at the counter, apologized for the problem, and inspected the boot that was still functional. Found the functional boot was on its way to failure. Repaired both boots in under 30 minutes. Cleaned and conditioned them too. Total cost--$0.00. I was never pressured to replace or buy any extras. Extremely happy. My next pair of work boots will definitely be purchased at this store. read more

Horrible customer service! Went in to make an exchange and Irene was upset and threw the box to the side (because it had to go back). My husband asked her for another pair and she gave him a really bad attitude and said " I don't know, I have to check". really?! Isn't that what you have to do? I told her we didn't need the attitude and could go elsewhere. I guess that made her more upset that she had to ask Karen (another employee) to help us and she walked away. I really liked this place. I was greeted immediately and treated well from start to finish. I got the work boots I wanted, in my size, and without a struggle. The gentleman who helped me listened to what I needed and made great recommendations. This place does work shoes and they do it well. I thought the prices were really good too. I'll be up on the ladder and on the hillside again soon and my feet will feel so much better with the proper boot and great support. You can't go wrong with Red Wing boots. They are at the Red Wing store aplenty, and all sizes are available. The store was clean, high tech, and well organized. I recommend this store highly for work shoes and boots. read more

**Poor Customer Service** I love my Red Wing brand. It's the only work boot I'll buy. I've been a Red Wing customer for the past ten years and have had nothing but great service from my local store, until the past three months. I have numerous pairs of boots and all are on my PM list provided by Red Wing. This is where they will send you an email to drop your boots off to get them conditioned at no cost. Well it was time to take my boots in and have the service done. I dropped them off to the sales member. On a Friday night and asked if they could be ready by 1pm the next day. He assured me that that could be done. I show up the next afternoon to retrieve my boots and they couldn't find them. After waiting for 30 min, a younger lady came out with my boots and handed them to me drenched in oil. After looking closer they put they put the oil on over grime and dirt. I looked up at the clerk and asked what they put on it and she replied she had to put a 2nd coat of boot oil on them. Now, I know how to condition and oil boots, but this screamed a lie, followed up with inexperienced clerks. I'm going to guess that they didn't start working on the boots until I came for them. Well, I told the clerk that she didn't put the right conditioner on the leather. On the Red Wing site or boot model care page, you are to use mink oil or saddle paste on that type of leather. She told me that the guy didn't put instructions on what to use. I kind of laughed and said thank you and went on my way. I went home and stripped the boots down and conditioned them the correct way. I hate to see this because it's the customer service that's lacking, not the boot. I don't know what happened to the two older gentleman that used to work there, but I really miss there expertise and service for the customer. I hope this store gets better employees. I'll come back when I hear that they get experienced people and not the kind of people that just want the paycheck. I will buy from the LA store until then. read more

Upon walking in, I wasn't acknowledged by the gentleman on the phone, though the lady employee came out from the back just a moment after I entered. I will return and recommend. read more

My husband and I went to get his work boots here. Everything went fine the guy helped us with picking the style, sizing, etc. We even bought some orthopedic insoles. We get home and my husband said the boots felt tighter than in the store. We go back come to find my husband forgot to take the original insoles off, so he had two insoles in there. No big deal, our mistake, he again helped us and we ended up going a size up after all. We exchanged the boots and drive all the way back home. We get home and not only had the guy given my husband one boot of each size (the first one we purchased and the one we exchanged for) but he also kept one of the orthopedic insoles we bought! So now we have 3 original insoles for these boots, that my husband doesn't need, and only one of the ones he DOES need. This store is over 10 miles away from my house. Now we have to go back get our insole and get the correct size boot. So frustrating. Giving 3 stars because yes the second time was our fault but the third... I mean you'd think working there the guy would know the difference between the orthopedic insoles (that don't have the red wing logo) and the original insoles (that do have the red wing logo), not to mention to check that your giving the customer the correct size shoe, so they don't have to drive all the way back. read more

I visited Red Wing Shoe Store beacuse at my place of employment I am required to wear steel toe boots at certain areas of my job. My company recommended Red Wing as they work directly with our safety department. Upon entering the store, I was immediately greeted. I told her what I was looking for and directed me to the large wall of products that qualify. She then proceeded to measure my feet with the device that you step on standing up. It also measures pressure points. The device provided shoe size, of course. In conclusion, the process was painless from entering the store to walking out with my new pair of work boots. Worst customer service. DO NOT BUY. They lie to you and tell you that your purchase comes with guaranteed satisfaction and warranty, but when you go in, they don't honor the warranty. I bought a pair of $250 boots. Came back and said that they were not comfortable. I was told it was because I didn't buy the insoles, and if I bought the $65 insoles I was guaranteed satisfaction. The insoles have a ONE YEAR WARRANTY. When the insoles wore completely flat in a couple months, I went back and was told "too bad, that's normal wear." Why would the warranty be for an entire year if they don't expect it to last an entire year? read more
