Always great bbq and I understand they are moving north to the old Bargain Barn building. Great!

Best barbecue in Waco! I ordered some brisket and one of the ribs, and it was phenomenal! I will definitely be back!

No doubt, absolutely the BEST brisket in all of Texas! Sausage is really good as well.

We love the food here. It's organic and you can tell the difference between this place and other BBQ places. The food tastes clean and delicious. The plates may be small and more costly but that's what you pay for humanely raised animals! I will gladly pay more for organic food. My husband said the half chicken is the best he's ever had and we both love the brisket. Saturday is very busy so we normally go on Friday. Great now I told everybody the best time to go..... It's right next to the Homestead grocery store. I get BBQ then hit the store for all my health food to take home. read more

so glad we stumbled upon this little place! So cute and the chicken was great! Super sweet and friendly couple working. Will come back if Im ever passing through Waco! read more

Heading to Austin and looked for something off the beaten path. Take the detour! What a great stop. Ordered 2 brisket sandwiches and a haystack. Soda is all natural and has no caffeine. Everything was very good. Barbecue was lean and served on a fresh whole wheat homemade bun. Amazing! Take a moment and wonder in the general store...it's truly awesome! read more

Cant make it to Franklins in Austin, for the Waco area , this is the next best thing!!!! Best BBQ in Waco!! read more

Brisket, a Texas bbq tradition. Red Wagons is moist on the inside, with a delicious "crust" that only the best know how to achieve. I have had brisket in literally scores of places. High end 'jacket and tie, valet parking', to greasy 'butcher paper plate' establishments and everything in between. This is the best hands down. Highs: The Brisket! :-) Lows: Limited hours and limited supply. Get there early. Once they sell out your out of luck! read more

Probably the best barbecue in town. I just wish they were open more days or longer hours.

I have had some very good BBQ in Texas. I've always wanted to try Red Wagon BBQ, and today I thought I'd finally stop by and give it a taste. The beans were very good. I really enjoyed the spice and sausage mixed with it. I'm not a big coleslaw fan but for some reason the food at Homestead always makes things taste new, and the coleslaw here was one of them. It went well with my brisket. The sauce was very good flavor and the smoked brisket was juicy and of good quality. You can tell the staff chooses the meat they believe will be best. I'm glad I stopped by, and I was not let down. The brisket and sauce combination may be my favorite that I have tried. I do wish you could get a piece of bread or two along with the plates. I like knowing I can have tasty BBQ with complimentary sides as a healthy choice with the all natural foods Red Wagon chooses to sell. read more

I've eaten at many Texas Monthly top 50 BBQ spots like Franklin, Pecan Lodge, La barbecue among others. Look for this place to make the top 50 in 2017. This is the best BBQ in Waco and it's not even close. read more

Have been to Franklins and this is comparable. It is the best BBQ between Austin and Dallas. It is well worth the drive. The sides are better than the normal bbq place sides, but the brisket and the sausage are excellent. read more

Very good brisket; great bark, moist and flavorful on the inside. The smoked chicken was excellent as well. I tried it at a catered event, but I hear they're open Saturday's 11-4. read more

The best BBQ I have had in the Waco area. I also loved the sugar free BBQ sauce. Although they are only open on Saturday lunch. I will definitely plan my next trip to include going back next time I am in the area. read more

I recently ate at the Red Wagon BBQ on a Saturday. Honestly I have to say that was some of the best brisket I have had. And believe me, I have been all over, to Lano, Lockhart, even been to Kansas City! Joe has done an amazing job preparing his meat and cooking it just right. Right now he is only serving on Saturdays. The price is very reasonable as well. read more

Probably the best brisket we have ever had! We stopped in on our way out of Waco for a quite bite. We got the chili, brisket, potato salad and coleslaw. Everything was fantastic and the brisket literally fell apart as you ate it. The coleslaw was fresh, potato salad clearly homemade from great ingredients and they used organic, grassfed beef and produce. We will be back next time we are visiting from California. Thanks for the hospitality, Joe! read more

This is the place to go for some great southern hospitality! The best brisket in Texas from people who care to do it right! Good clean food- None of the additives and from suppliers who raise their animals care. Joe the owner is even doing BBQ classes to teach his meat smoking techniques. Just ask him he will tell you all about it. Don't miss this stop! read more

Incredibly moist, flavorful 'cue. Get there early! As with everything made in the Community, it's quality but not cheap. Worth the detour!

This place was okay. People were nice. A little too pricey; I had the chicken leg plate, which for $13.95 was not worth the price. Hubby had the brisket stack sandwich; which for $8.00 didn't come with any sides. It is about 5 miles off the interstate, so not really worth the detour. read more

Simply delicious. My companion and I split 3/4 lb moist brisket and two 6 oz sides (beans and potato salad). It was all exquisite. Can't wait to come back. read more

Red Wagon easily has the best brisket in the Waco area, and compares with the top brisket joints in the state. My wife and I stop by a few times per month and it is consistently delicious. Nothing else comes close in the Waco area. read more

This is THE best BBQ in McLennan county, hands down! I've tried them all and no other compares. The quality is excellent, consistent and unmatched! The brisket's bark, smoke ring and flavor is divine. I tried the chili today, because it smelled amazing, and once again I was not disappointed. Everything I've had is fantastic. The beef ribs, smoked salmon, chicken, yumm. Everything is my favorite. If you're looking for BBQ in the Waco area, you need look no further. read more

The Haystack sandwich was unbelievably good! Friendly service too. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who likes brisket.

This is hands down THE best BBQ in Texas. And Texas is known for better BBQ than anywhere else! So this is the world's best -- no joke!! The brisket is to die for and the sausage is spectacular. So bottom line, it really doesn't matter where you're coming from, it's worth the drive! Just make sure you leave in time to get in line before they run out!!! It's a regular occurrence... Snooze you lose. Red Wagon has mastered the art of Barbecue!!! read more

Great BBQ and great service. Some of the best brisket in Texas can be found here. Tender, juicy, and tasty. Great sides as well. We've driven 1.5 hrs from DFW on a number of occasions just to eat at the Red Wagon. read more

Waco's hidden gem.. it is by far the best smoked BBQ place in the area. This is coming from trying out multiple restaurants in the area that were recommended. The sad thing is this restaurant wasn't recommended I just happened to stumble upon it. The smoked brisket is amazing.. smoked very thoroughly and very tender.. has to be the best in Waco! read more

I know BBQ is a touchy subject in Texas, but I believe I have gathered enough information to justify me giving a critique. I have eaten here 4 times and between my wife and I we have enjoyed the chopped brisket sandwiches, BBQ chicken and at the last visit I ventured out and had Joe's beef rib. I pause here.....thinking of that rib! Wow, there is no doubt the beeves spend their allotted time in the smoker but there is something going on here that can't readily be detected! I'll chalk it up to skill, knowledge and mastery of the craft. It is expensive. The portions are not huge, but the quality is present. If you travel far for the opportunity to eat there by all means go for the ribs!! read more

All of these reviews are frauds. This place is mediocre at best. It's a trailer with an old man serving up the smallest portions of bbq I've ever experienced. The 12.99 brisket plater was so small that I had to order a 9.50 brisket sandwich to supplement my hunger. It's not even close to comparing to some of the top bbq spots in Austin. read more
