This is Chicago. There are thousands of small fish and chicken restaurants so, to be successful you can't really have average food. Let alone bad food. My go to at these kind of restaurants is to get chicken and fish combos. The chicken had a weird taste and the fish wasn't very good, as soon as I picked up the catfish the entire coating fell off. If you're in the area craving fish or chicken, I'd recommend going to one of the other restaurants in the area like Sharks. read more

And because the manager didn't remember me even after speaking with him, I was given ONE of the items as a FAVOR and told that was all they could do for me, because there was no proof even though I showed my receipt. The chicken and fish are good. the portions are good too. However, if you use a credit card they will charge you an extra 3.5%. No one on site could explain why they penalize customers who wish to use a credit or debit card. read more

Wow. Have known the brand for years but had not tried until yesterday. I cannot believe this venue is competitive in Hyde Park that is dependent on the buying tastes of soooo many Black people. The food was incredibly bland. I mean I was shocked. I ordered the jumbo shrimp dinner and sides of spaghetti and potato salad. Was I somehow transplanted to Back to the Future, 1950s milquetoast where spices were equated with sin? Save your money, folks, if you don't like munching cardboard. read more

Alright, second time here. The wings aren't bad, but most definitely not good. They have a solid crunch but are small with little meat and breading. I went out on a limb today and got the cat fish nuggets. My god, they were so fishy I felt like they were dipped in the ocean. I couldn't even eat them and trust me I've eaten some nasty stuff. I often go to this location and numerous times have ordered the three item combo. I normally her double perch and three jumbo shrimp. After I had paid and was waitinf on my order a young lady who has rung me up in the past told me I could get that and then had the audacity to look at me like i was lying about having ordered it that way. I normally end up with a big aluminum, pan when i do and then the gentlemen that was cooking today has been there before when i ordered this way. My friend tried to kiss me in this establishment. This boy was pissing me off all day, so I grab him by the arm and push him. He comes back and tries to kiss me. We get pretty close, too! I always get fried chicken. It's fresh, tasty, & fried just right. I find the workers professional and efficient. There's an array of other food items, including desserts, beverages. I've had fried shrimp & it was ok but I stick to the fried chicken. The dining area has a large screen to watch tv and small tables & chairs. If you park in the lot, DO NOT leave the shopping area. You will get a boot on your car. There's a private company that watches people come and go and if they even cross the street, a boot is quickly put on. Ordered the chicken gyros. Corporate had invented a horrible recipe that bore little resemblance to Greek gyros. Odd spices with mayo. No tzatziki sauce, Greek spices, or onions. Chicken over-cooked, hard. My wife's chicken wings and gizards were ok, but hairy. Water ok. I would try the other half dozen junk food places within a block. read more

I order from this place constantly and they mess up my order everytime. I called the manager and he told me "Uber eats is responsible for the mix up with my order. His employees do not read the receipts they just put them on the bag. It's late and stores are closed. Zero stars. Never even tried the food. Customer service is HORRIBLE. Ordered wings on Friday for Sunday, they didn't even have the order written down. I stopped there at 12:30 am this morning for carry-out on my way home and stood at the register for 5 minutes while the cook and cashier toyed in the distance, with a tablet computer, and were almost totally oblivious to me standing there. The cashier, named "Azalea" by the way, only decided to do her job and ring me up once a police officer came in stood in line behind me, and she had the nerve to have an attitude towards me, as if I had done something wrong. First visit to Chicago, Yelp reviews were excellent so I figure I would try them out. I ordered off of Eat24 waited quite a while for delivery, but they did not disappoint. The Mac&Cheese was amazing. I ordered buffalo wings and jerk tips dinner. Softest tips I've ever had , I do wish the jerk seasoning was hotter with a grilled taste. Overall good job. Cabbage was salty but better than no seasoning at all. The peach cobble was great not diabetic coma sweet, so you could taste everything. Everything arrive steaming hot which was a definite plus in my book. For what I paid I receive enough to feed about 4 people. I hope to order again. read more

It was so good I forgot to take a picture. gulp. sorry. anyway, you have to have the delicately flavored fried to the "bone" (no yucky jelly or grease) catfish. It's the best in town. Even when we finally got it delivered a bit late, it was a little bit cold (because of a friend... not the restaurant's fault), we popped it in the oven for 10 minutes and it was just as fresh and crisp as if homemade. This place was sooooo good! I had the chicken pita and the grilled shrimp. The shrimp had lots of flavor I don't even think I'll be missing fried shrimp (which is what I usually get at these types of restaurants). There were no scary veins in the grilled shrimp at all. It's obvious they clean them right before they grill them. It came with two slices of bread and fries. I liked the fries. So although going grilled is lighter the sides don't really help too much but that's ok because they do offer salads too. The grilled chicken pita was also equaling amazing. I got mine without the mayo because I cannot stand mayo but it wasn't even necessary because the chicken was so juicy and good and the pita bread just made it all even better. I will definitely be back. There wasn't a ridiculous wait time either like some other places that will not be mentioned nor was it crowded. I guess people haven't really caught on to this place yet. This is the best fast fish and chips I've had in Chicago. Very satisfied. Great, plump fillets well prepared. Great shrimp too. We called in an order at 1:30AM, but the lady on the phone said just to come in and order. When we arrived, she said they are not taking anymore orders at 1:45AM when we arrived. I'm not sure I understand how a business has hours until 2:00AM yet does not take orders at 1:45AM. I was a manager at a major toy store in Chicago and we stayed open and entertained guests until past closing if they are in the store. This is bad business!
