My famiy and I visited last night to get our dog, Millie, a pup cup for her 14th birthday. And we also got ice cream while we were there ... obviously. There was a line, as you'd expect, but the staff kept it moving, and we didn't have to wait long. Dairy Kastle is an outdoor ice cream stand, with a mix of cool treats on the menu. My husband and I got the Fat Elvis shakes (a mix of peanut butter, banana and vanilla ice cream). It's our favorite thing on the menu. My son tried the Dole whip for the first time, and he'll definitely get that again. My daughter got the vanilla soft serve with chocolate sauce. And Millie got her pup cup -- two Milkbones with vanilla ice cream on top. Dairy Kastle provided the quintessential Louisville summer experience to end a good weekend. It's the traditional classic hot brown with a fun little twist Turkey club was really good as well, nicely toasted. You order your food and they give you a number and they'll bring the food to wherever you are sitting. They also have the libations bar there where you can get a selection of premade cocktails that come with a signature glass for you to take home or can make you something different. There is a huge bourbon selection and some of those unicorn bottles that are hard to find are also there as well for your drinks.
