Friendly diner with average food. Came by for breakfast because they opened early and was close to my hotel. Ordered the biscuits and gravy. They offer 1 biscuit, two, or three with the gravy. I ordered two thinking I would have a big and fluffy biscuit and was disappointed. Biscuits were real small and they put WAY TOO MUCH gravy on them! They even poured the gravy over by side of bacon! This is a diner/cafe and there is nothing fancy on the menu. Wasn't bad food, just average = 3 stars

Found the Red Rooster Cafe while searching on Yelp. This is why I love this app. This place is a gem off the beaten path and we will definitely be back. We are from West TN and are visiting Billings, MT for a wedding. We felt right at home here. Upon entry, we seated ourselves and were greeted by Nicole. I did ask for sweet tea and while that is not a menu drink, she told me she would take care of me and she did just that. A nice glass of sweet iced tea hit the spot. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the buckwheat pancakes and sausage. It was all delicious! I ended up spending some time talking with the owner, Misty, and what a great story she has about how she came to be the owner of Red Rooster Cafe. A trip to Red Rooster Cafe would definitely be worth your time. Great food, great service, and I appreciate the Christian music playing inside the restaurant. Great job, Misty and Staff!!!

For café-food and nothing-fancy eating, Red Rooster hits every mark. The employees are too cheerful to be real. But they are. After the day I was having, they actually acknowledged they'd try to make it better. Done. [ If it isn't real, then they can fake "cheerful" wonderfully.] Breakfast -- you can't go wrong with breakfast here -- but on this day, I went with a lunch special -- a reuben wrap that came with soup and macaroni salad. The macaroni salad was pickle-y. I mean, it tasted like a creamy pickle relish with macaroni. I'm not complaining -- I like pickle relish -- but this might not be to everyone's taste. The soup was thick, hearty, and on its own -- filling. On the day I stopped by for breakfast, they were still friendly. Who are these people at this hour of the morning who can be nice? Fake? They have to be the best fakers on earth then. Breakfast is also good here, and again, I went with the special: a breakfast casserole exactly as what it sounds like: a mix of eggs, sausage, peppers, onions, and with a choice of gravy or a spicy sauce. Yep. It was good, but the spicy sauce really wasn't. It was more of a salsa-like tomato sauce, but it was a nice alternative. The coffee is standard diner coffee. Not bad, but not outstanding. They keep the cup filled, though. And with a smile. What is wrong with these people? Efficient, friendly, smiling, cheerful. . . . have we moved from AI to singularity? I have to go back to verify a few more times.

Meat breakfast or something like that.

Great food, friendly staff. Reminds me of the old school diners when I was a boy. Home cooked food.

They take forever to bring the food. Hire some cooks. I was about to leave. I had to ask can I get some more coffee.

We got a Bourbon Pecan pie for Thanksgiving. It was one of the very best pecan pies we've ever had (homemade included).

They painted, renovated a bit, but have not gotten new signage yet-so the old Log Cabin sign is still up. The owner and his friend run things at this cafe and they are so friendly and helpful. The menu is approachable, affordable, and creative. They voiced that the goal was to have an affordable and healthy option in Billings for families. And that it is! They try to source all ingredients locally, they make their own breads and sweets, and partner with local citizens who grow greens, veggies, etc. Their hours are not set yet as they are just starting up but I know they are open for lunches on week days and brunch on Saturday starting at 10AM. I had the croissant French toast which is soaked in vanilla cream overnight (SO GOOD) and my husband had eggs with avocado toast (4 thick slices with generous amounts of avocado) and the side of potatoes was amazing-rosemary flavored and crispy. These meals were about $7 each. It was a deal. We will definitely be returning! The owners kids and wife came by as we were finishing and it was hard to pull our daughter away from playing with his crew, who generously shared their toys with her. This is a gem and I hope they thrive in Billings!

Our food was good and we both finished our sandwiches. No complaints, but possibly lacked in the flavor department being a bit on the blander side. We also bought and tried a dessert and baguette that we both enjoyed. As a Billings native, the menu might be a smaller version of what you would see at the Field house, but a more relaxed atmosphere. Will certainly be returning.
