Very open, clean, and spacious park. I love the dead and barren trees in November, we don't get that in California and paired with the cold, it feels weirdly nostalgic of something I've never had and warming on the inside (yes, I'm insane). I also passed by a lot of joggers and dog walkers in the mid morning. Very safe. I passed by 2 small lakes with some water fowl nearby, standard mallard ducks and Canadian geese. Very calming. Saw a couple squirrels too. Not a bad medium sized city park.

Or to just play at the park, and a lot of people go there for running, biking, or playing soccer. One of the best things about this park is that it did not smell bad. I noticed because I know some parks have a stinky smell, but this one did not. Even though we went during the summer, it wasn't super hot and there were not a bunch of bugs for that time of year. Crowd The crowd depends on when you go and if there is an event happening. It was not crowded at all on the day we went because we went during the week. However, I know during certain times of the year they have jazz in the park and it gets super packed. Most of the time, everybody pretty much minds their own business or they are friendly, but if you go for an event, you should plan ahead accordingly. Price: This location is completely free to go to since there is no park entrance fee or anything. Even the jazz in the park events are free and really neat, which makes it a great spot if you are looking for a nice place that is laid-back and free to enjoy. Parking and Transportation: There are plenty of places to park during a normal day, but when we went to jazz in the park during the summer, it did take some time to find a spot. You should make sure to show up early so that you can find parking. If you live a little bit away, you might want to take an Uber, or you can just walk or ride your bike if you live close enough. Overall Experience: My husband and I went right before sundown to do a picnic and painting date that also served as a photo shoot. We had someone set this up for us and we paid for it, so it was very convenient because we just showed up and followed their instructions. It was a great time to go because it wasn't very busy and the lighting was perfect. I think it is a good spot to have a photo shoot or a cute picnic date because it has such a romantic feel to it. We had a really fun time and I highly recommend this place.

There is metered street parking out front of the park and commercial parking lots within walking distance. The park begins at the foot of the bridge and primarily consists of a small plaza area with some tables and chairs set up. This is where you will also find the wings that can be used for a photo opportunity with the bridge in the background. The plaza area is surrounded by some shops and eateries and is attached to a new neighborhood. Additionally there are sidewalks that feed into other nice trails, so you can get an extended run in. The park was rumored to be developed on the site of an abandoned rail yard by East West Partners. This is set up more as a neighborhood plaza than a park. You will find a more traditional park right across the street called Commons Park (which many mistake for Riverfront Park), so, I guess you get the best of both worlds in the area.

For a master-planned neighborhood, Riverfront Park is pretty damn great. RP has lush rolling hills with loads of sidewalks and paths zig-zagging through, and it's always full of life; you will find joggers, dog-walkers, outdoor fitness classes, portrait photographers, and more at all hours. And on the topic of four-legged children, doggy bags and rubbish bins are plentiful. Perfect! There are also multiple bridges which will take you anywhere you wish - LoDo, REI, the Highlands, etc. Whoever planned this definitely put a lot of thought into it as RP is a living, breathing - and, most importantly, functional - bit of urban paradise. Hats off to the developers for making this a space which works for people. Where I come from, "master-planned" just means, "Who cares what the residents want? Make us (developers) the most money humanly possible."

They have a couple small parking lots but it fills up quickly so per usual with Colorado, the earlier the better. We even bumped into a Jefferson county ranger hiking the trail ( and this is not a rare exception). Parts of the trail were really icy and slippery ( bring traction for your shoes!)

You start in an open clearing. Then you can go right on Cherry Gulch (?) trail - which is shorter and more challenging to get to the top. We did see a mountain lion as we ended our hike later than we planned. This is a really nice park that is so close to the city. We definitely will return and I encourage you to go. I didn't feel that the climb was challenging at all.

They were having a celebration of life today and I got there early so parking was fine but the parking lot was completely full by the time I left. I walked the meadow and forest trails for a total of 1.3 miles. Saw three beautiful bucks. The staff was all very nice and helpful and they have great guides on paper and maps and activities for kids.

Nothing much more to do or see but the view of the far away town and hills. It has a small museum at the look out. A nice trail to hike nothing to crazy. We didn't spend much time here at this mountain. We spent more time at Red Rock Theatre. But we did capture some great photos while on the visit. It's was not a far drive to get to the mountain from the gas station we stop at, it was like 10-14 miles away. (it kind of remind me of the parking lot that's at the end of Galveston island, and looking out at the ocean.)
