Had family night out to celebrate my cousins 21st birthday. Despite crummy weather the place was still pretty packed and the crowd was pretty welcoming. The mechanical bull is obviously a main attraction here which was on my bucket list. I will say, a lot harder than I expected. $5 buys you 2 tries (most people averaged about 30 seconds) which I thought was a bit pricey... but worth it for the videos and memories we got out of it. Didn't get a chance to try any food, but the drinks were definitely on the weak side. Cleanliness was a little subpar as well, but again - we got what we expected out of the visit. read more

Horrible service, sat in there for 20 mins and couldn't even get a drink. Short dude at the bar made eye contact like 3 times, rolled his eyes and continued to ignore us. Very fun and affordable bar right in the heart of the third ward! This bar had a mechanical bull Right in the entrance where anyone could ride. The drinks are very affordable compared to other bars. The scene was more of a college bar vibe but I definitely didn't mind it. Overall BAD! If you want to get pick pocketed, this is the bar for you. I was there 8/2/25 with a few friends after a concert, and I was DD so I did not have a sip of alcohol the entire night. I had my purse strapped to my waist the whole night, and someone still managed to grab my phone from my purse. They managed to try and steal my apple pay from my phone, but my bank did not allow it. Thank gosh. I then proceeded to tell the bartender and ask them to look for a missing phone, but they did not care. Overall BAD VIBES, so many creeps and thief's. My girlfriend and I live in Chicago. For the past few years we have been going to Milwaukee for the St. Patrick's Day parade. After the parade today we went to Red Rock for lunch. It was pretty busy and the ladies were working hard. Eventually, our server Kay came over to our table. She was a sweetheart and fun. We split the 3 meat and 3 sides platter and had a lot of beer and shots. The food was really good, and they had a very large selection of whiskeys. We were seated next to the mechanical bull and were tempted to trt it, but being in our mid-30s and not drunk enough, we decided not to. We were there for about 5 hours and had great service. We left a big tip, and Kay came back to make sure it wasn't a mistake. read more

This is a must. I've come here every time I've been to Milwaukee. This place is located in a great downtown party area and offers a lot. The food, beer and service are all on point. What I like most is that they do play pretty good dancy country music, the more modern stuff. Although I'm not a country fan, if one of my friends are, I'd at least want to go to a hipper country place. They have bulk rides sometimes, too. Not sure of the when details, I don't have a desire to do it, lol. What I can't stand are the female bartenders outfits. Jesus H, their entire rear ends are just put right out there for the world to see. They are basically wearing underwear. I bet some want to show this off, or don't care, or aren't in a mature place in their lives at the moment and their opinions might change later on (what I thought about myself as a woman in society at 20 isn't what I thought at 35). We randomly ended up here after a guy at another bar told us about this place. We aren't much into the "city scene" so it sounded perfect to us. It was pretty awesome! Red rocks has a very different feel during the day compared to the night scene. During the day, food is good, the servers are attentive, and patrons are generally friendly. They have good food deals on each day of the week. At night, red rock becomes very busy and it can be hard to get a drink on busy nights. They have added another small bar near the dance floor that helps with this. They often have live bands, and country DJ's who keep people on the dance floor. This is definitely the bar to go to in Milwaukee if you are a fan of country music. You can ride the bull for free on your birthday or pay $5 to ride any other day of the year. Would recommend taking the bull for a ride. This is a great place day or night! read more

I am outside in line for MKE Red Rock and hear 3 gun shots. Everyone is running and my friends and I hug the wall. The security comes out and asks us to head to our cars. After we explain that we do not have cars he says okay go inside. The bouncer inside demands for $50 and explains that the cover all night has been $50. We explain to him that there was just a shooting and we need to get inside. He says no he doesn't care and needs $50. We pay and are inside the bar for 15 minutes. As we are ordering our ubers to leave we wait by the door. Another employee (may have been the manager) walks up to us and says we need to wait outside. Again, we explain to him that there was a shooting and we are waiting until our uber arrives. He says no and we need to leave. We exit the establishment. SEXIST JERKS. DONT GO HERE! I came here on a Saturday night and had two run-ins with security guards. Here we go... One, the female bartenders are completely and utterly humiliated in denim assless chaps. Male bartenders wear whatever they want. Why? Why? Why? Two, the girls are then, over the loud speakers, to the ENTIRE establishment, called to the top of the bar where they stand and pour shots in patrons' mouths. I have 100% seen this at other bars before but this time I was recording a friend taking a shot. One of the security guards stalked me down and MADE ME delete the video I just took, and then preceded to watch me, delete my video. I obliged but inquired why. His response was "management policy." I took that for what it was but was also extremely curious. (Crossing paths with security #1) THREE, and oh you better bet there is a three... THREE, I was waiting for the bathroom on the womens side. My male friend, yes females have male friends, who came out the mens bathroom saw me waiting in what was a 15 minute bathroom line said, just go in the mens. I then rushed to the mens bathroom, did my business and left. No harm done. Nobody was bothered. As I exited a security guard stalked me back to my table and said, "we have you on security cameras. You have to go." I was totally confused and said, "excuse me?" The security guard said, "we have you on camera going into the mens room." My response was 1) laughing 2)"ok, well what if I identify as male?" To his response of "this is the rules of the manager," he called for backup because he said I wasn't leaving. I literally could not believe my ears. I'm 5'8'', 130 pounds. Multiple security guards needed to escort me out??? Nope, I'll just leave. Point blank... multiple times this establishment chose to put women in a place of lower position. In an environment so sexist and toxic, ESPECIALLY when we women are going through with the MeToo movement. I cant stand that this place is able to objectify women and then continue to humiliate them for using a restroom that they possibly identify with. This security guard didnt ask me my gender or sexuality. Just assumed that I looked female and should then choose to use the female restroom. I cannot extend my hatred for establishments such as these. Maybe the policies exist for reason, but then you will need to explain because the rules I had to follow, and proceeded to be kicked out because of, are completely and utterly of the past. Get real. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon while in town since I had seen it featured on Man vs. Food Nation.. I didn't realize from the show that this place is a Hooter's type atmosphere - not that there is anything wrong with that. Male patrons outnumbered female patrons by probably four to one. Beer and food were reasonably priced. 8 bucks for 8 wings. Went with the Confessor sauce (pineapple habanero) which was not spicy at all for my tastes but flavorful and a lot of meat on the wings. read more

I'm never disappointed when I go into Red Rock. They always have a sizable crowd, even on nights you'd expect it to be slower. They fill a niche that hadn't been available to Milwaukee for so long and they are doing it right. A country bar with a mechanical bull. Sounds like fun before I even walked in my first time. My first visit I thought the place was small, but they have steel, garage door looking things that open up to a second, much larger bar with a stage for live music. Drinks aren't cheap, but you can't always get away with cheap drinks everywhere you go. They are fair priced and mix drinks are made well. Bartenders are cute and friendly. The Mechanical Bull is entertaining, no matter how many times you see someone fall off, you are still invested enough to watch the next rider take a spill. The live music is usually really good, covering popular country hits. In between sets, the DJ plays music that stays true to the theme of the bar but also mixes in some Top 40, danceable hits. read more

A friend wanted to come here for the live music and dancing but we unfortunately didn't have time to stay for that so we just grabbed a quick bite and dipped out. We had fried chicken biscuit sliders and cheese curds. The sliders were pretty dry and the cheese curds were pretty rubbery. After driving to Milwaukee to watch the Heat sweep the Bucks in the first round, a bunch of my friends and I were all starving! We were originally going to go to AJ Bombers for food, but before getting there, we walked past this place. It caught our attention because the restaurant had been featured on Man V. Food Nation for their Unforgiven Challenge (their Farm burger with a basket of fries and 6 ghost pepper wings in 23 minutes). None of us stepped up to the plate on that but we did enjoy the meal! I ordered their William Munny sandwich which was brisket, collared greens and pepper jack cheese, between a toasted bun. Not going to lie, they said there were secret spices in it, but I had to put a lot of BBQ sauce on it to get through the whole sandwich. But it was my first time having collared greens and it was really good! The second picture is there Farm Burger that Kevin and Wade split, which is basically a burger that has two 1/2 pound patties, a piece of fried chicken breast and then topped with bacon, cheese, onion strings and then a fried egg. It looked ridiculous and to quote them, they "were going to go home and eat every fruit and vegetable they had." It was a super fun day and I can safely say, that our group was more enthusiastic about the Bucks than the whole stadium was. Don't know if I will make another trip to Milwaukee, but the city treated us well and it was nice getting away from Chicago's horrible weather! read more

An Sunday afternoon, the bar was almost empty. We had a large from of more then 6 or 7 if i remember correctly. We were sat and given drinks right away. We all ordered our food and there was something on the menu for everyone. We ordered a 4 meat platter, chicken tenders, onion rings, nachos and a chicken breast sandwich. The bill was a little less then 70 bucks i believe. The bull was not available to be ridden by anyone less then 18. My daughter couldnt ride and we pretty bummed. But the food made up for it for sure. We (adults) had some Jack Daniels fire shots (3). There were pretty tasty. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and asked if there there were any specials. The bartender was in a bad mood and told us no. 5 minutes later we were invited to play bingo, and the bingo host listed 4 different all day specials. We ordered a couple of drinks and were charged 20% more than the listed price. Later, the bartender asked us to stop "shitting our pants" because someone was smelly. I've been here for some fun late nights with live music, but the daytime bartenders seem to hate everyone that walks through the door. The hubby and I found ourselves trying to kill time before our flight back to PHX from MKE, and we totally forgot about this gem. It was one of our faves when we were locals, always a reliable stick-to-your-ribs meal (pregaming dinner, datenight nightcap, brunch, you name it), and it certainly hasn't slowed down in the several years it has been since we've been back. Brisket poutine, bbq pork mac n cheese, and the build-your-own are our go-to meals. Highly recommend the brisket and pork. Hubby loves the cheese curds. I used to like coming this place years ago. They used to be very good then. I would hung out with my friends here after a long day at work. I decided to introduce my fiancé this place since he just moved here. I haven't been here for four years until last night. We ordered some food and drinks. My food was not really good. It was super dry and the mac and cheese was so plain and water down. The fried pickles was actually good and better than my chicken. Which was a shame. My fiancé had a burger and it looks like they put roasted beef slices in it. I didn't want to bite it. What happened? You guys used to had a better menu and food back then. We didn't complain and paid for it all anyways. The good thing was the drinks there. The bartender Amanda was very nice and friendly to everyone. She always smiled and treated us well. I want to give it one star but I'm giving a second star because she's sweet. The bad thing was the food. Another bad thing was that this man who worked there came at us taking our chairs away from us. It was unexpected and rude. He tried to tell me that everyone has to stand now. Ok fine we were almost done anyways. But let your customers know ahead of time that there won't be chairs after a certain time. Post a sign if you have to. These people made us show our IDs and pay $10 each after hearing a shooting happen. We waited in the bar for a few minutes while our Uber came just wanting to get off of the street in case there was danger. They said that there wasn't a shooting (3 wounded, shooter shot dead by police in the news) and that we paid to get in and have fun. I'm so sickened by the 'professionalism' The bouncers pride themselves on the safety of the bar patrons and wouldn't let us in when there was a legit shooting? not ok. Huge disclaimer: I don't like country music so the pulsating loud country didn't appeal to me at all. It was so loud having a conversation with the person next to you was difficult. Yes, the assless chaps on the female servers is a bit gross. At least they're not serving food in their underwear (it appears to start after 10) If you're going to go sexist, go both ways and make the guys wear something similar. The interior is nice. I grew up in Montana so the faux saloon decor doesn't phase me. It's set up nice. I like the position of the stage and two bars. However, it is super crowded. It's one of those places with too many stools at the bar and there's really no go path anywhere. You can't have a table if you're not ordering food until after 10. The bartenders were nice, the beers were cheap. They didn't let my friend ride the bull because he didn't fit their requirements and that was a bummer. This place is pretty cool. I was visiting from Oregon, and heard about the mechanical bull! I rode it twice, the first time was awful and the second time was so much better! It's a pretty cool bar. The burger was cooked well, but the bartender was EXTREMELY rude. He was very condescending towards all of the ladies at the bar. He made us visibility uncomfortable by being rude to specifically the women of the group. We had 10 of us in an empty bar, and my friend asked what dipping sauce they offered...he said he should cuss us out for asking. He wasn't being sarcastic, he told us that he was serious, and to know what we want. We tipped him at minimum 40% because he made us feel so bad, and it was so uncomfortable. He also continued to call us "sweetheart" and explain what the definition of a mixed drink was. I'm a 26 year old bartender who knows the basic requirements of a mixed drink. Asking questions about the menu shouldn't result in being shamed and made to feel like an idiot. I truly can't fully explain how upsetting this was to our evening. If I could give any piece of advice, go and eat the food because it's pretty good, but don't let the bartenders treat you badly.
