Beware Red Rock Dealerships especially the Hyundai dealership service department. I made an appointment for a transmission flush on a 2012 sonata, and asked for a ballpark price (which they said was around $215), so I went ahead and booked the service. once my wife picked up the car they had charged me $400. I called 4 other transmission services in town to compare pricing, and they were all $250 including another non red rock dealer. I asked them to charge me a similar rate and refund the difference, they refused. When I questioned them about the price they said that CVT transmissions were expensive to service, and I responded it is not a CVT transmission. I said that is the highest transmission fluid service I have ever seen, and they said it is what it is. Then they went as far as to recommend I change my brake fluid, my battery and my brake pads, which would not be mind blowing recommendations had I not just had those replacements a week earlier from another vendor. This is after I have purchased 2 cars from them previously, but I can tell you these folks are not afraid to gouge you, and I would save your money and steer clear. They have lost a customer permanently, I will drive to SLC or Denver or further to avoid the red rock dealerships in Grand Junction. read more

My car has had so many issues since I bought it brand new in 2021 (Its a 2021 Hyundai Fe Hybrid) Please see the images below. There are also codes that did not register, as well as a recall, and a leaking oil pan that was just fixed under warranty. Imagine how expensive it will be to maintain this car after the warranty expires? Maybe save yourself some money and purchase a different vehicle. Purchase date: June 2021 Date of first check engine light: August 2021 As of 3/28/23: Still not resolved Update 3/28/23- After spending the whole day in the shop, my check engine light came on again 3 days later. I called in and the service department told me they would need to keep my car overnight for a few days and to stay by my phone because they would call me and come pick my car up and drop off a rental. It's been more than two weeks and nobody has responded to me, or called to inform me what's happening. I've called several times and have even brought it to the attention of the service department manager, Randy. I will continue to update this review as my situation progresses. It has now been more than a month and a half and nobody has called to update me of anything. The loaner car that they gave me has no radio. The worst part about this is I've had 50+check engine lights, More than 16 registered codes, 2 recalls and they still have no idea what is wrong. My mother was life flighted to the hospital in Denver on the night of 9/13. I got the call about an hour after my check engine light came on at about 9pm. I could not find a ride and was scared to drive my car 3 1/2 hours in the dark with a check engine light on and bad call service so I had to wait until the next morning. By the time I got to the hospital she was already in surgery and was never able to speak again. She died on 9/15 and I didn't drive up because I was scared my brand new 40000 car was going to leave me stranded in the dark with no cell service. I will never get that day with her back. We never got to say our goodbyes. This company had every opportunity to fix my car in the year that followed up to this and they chose to let me get up to 55,000 miles before offering to finally keep it overnight. read more

I came in looking to buy a new vehicle, and the man I was working with, Arb, was amazing and provided excellent customer service. My vehicle was estimated at a $27,000 trade in, and I of course wasn't expecting to get that, but at least in the ball park. The "business manager" came out with a proposal and said they cap trade ins at $15,000. He then proceeded to say it was mandatory to purchase these warranties on the car I was looking at. Note that the vehicle I was looking at was $24,000 MSRP, so I shouldn't have had to worry about a lot of fees, if any at all. At the end of it all, he said I'd have to pay $16,000 to walk out!! This place is a total scam, and they hide it behind friendly faces. Also, I test drove the car and the odometer read 5,500 miles. When they tried to sell it to me, they marked it at 4800. This dealership finance department took it upon themselves to change the deal from financing them to trying to finance myself and my mother in law. I did not nor did my wife give them permission to run my credit on this particular day or for this particular deal! When my wife brought this up to the sales lady the sales lady told her they needed my income to back the deal. I dont care what was needed the fact of the matter is they did not have permission to run my credit for this day or deal! I bought a car there Feb 2nd 2022 that had a crack in the windshield not a small crack at all. **see picture below** I have not kidding, called them eight times went to their store in person twice, and spoke to three different people every time to try to get this resolved. On top of it all being polite. None of them have called me back. None of them have responded to my messages I've left. And my windshield is still not replaced obviously.. Terrible experience here. I had made an appointment with Kaete about a vehicle I seen on their website. In her text she said she had the car I was interested in. Drove all the way from Delta to get there and be told the car isn't there! Layne told me they DONT KNOW where it is. First red flag. Second red flag, they took me for a test drive in a filthy car. Stains on the seats, mud on the floor mats, greasy feeling steering wheel and expected me to take that car home that night. When I said I would need to sleep on it and give it some thought, Layne made me feel visibly uncomfortable by really trying to make me take home a dirty car that I didn't even want. At the very end, I felt like I needed to console him for not buying the car which was again, very uncomfortable. The next day I get a text from Kaete again saying that they have the car I originally wanted again. She sends me the details on it in an email and the price in the email is a lot more expensive than the price that they are advertising it for on their website. Third red flag! I get that this is how you guys make a living so I'm not mad at anyone, just mad at the tactics car dealerships use to get people into their lots so they can try and move inventory. I understand but I don't want to give my money to a business that lies to its customers. I was in contact with employees at this Hyundai dealership looking for a truck. I was told to go on the Red Rock website and look at all of their inventory, & that they could get their hands on any of the vehicles at any of their dealerships for me - makes sense. I found a 2016 Frontier with 49k miles on it over at their Nissan dealership that was listed for $26k. They said they got it over to the Hyundai dealership for me and to come on in. I drove 4 hours all the way up from Durango & showed up excited about the truck, prepared to pay their asking price. I sit down and their employee Stephen, who talks a million miles an hour so that you can hardly understand what he's saying, tells me that the price of the truck is actually $29k now because they had to "buy it" from their sister dealership, Red Rock Nissan. This is the first time they told me about any price difference due to getting it from their Nissan dealership, which looking back on now sounds like a fat lie anyway. I get them a sale, and the difference of $3,000 falls on me, after they told me to choose any vehicle from their entire inventory. I literally could have gone straight to the Nissan dealership and saved $3k. The truck REEKED of cigarettes and the CarFax showed it had been in an accident, both of which I discovered after my drive up from Durango. I pointed out these things and instead of working with me, Stephen responded, "Well, can you see any damage?". I said I could not, but that doesn't mean that there isn't any. Instead of knocking a single dollar off the price they had already increased, they put an ozone treatment and an alignment on the terms of the purchase. When I picked the truck up, it still reeked of cigarettes and the alignment wasn't able to be done due to a damaged tie rod, which I was told weeks later was actually a mis-diagnosis when I had to take it to the Nissan dealership to get the alignment done. I asked for the receipts of the "work" that was done to the truck at the Hyundai dealership, of which I never received. Since the truck still smelled like an 80's motel room, I sprayed Ozium in it myself and it smells a lot better now. This, accompanied by the lack of receipts, leads me to believe they didn't do the ozone treatment at all. Anyway, as a 24 year old woman purchasing a vehicle for the first time, I feel 100% taken advantage of. This place will not hesitate to screw you over. read more

me and my husband purchased a brand new car a little over 6 months ago. After a month or less of owning the car we noticed cracking on the steering wheel. this is my husbands vehicle he does not wear rings or jewelry to note. we took it to the service department and asked if we could do a warranty claim. The service manager at the time said that warranty would cover and they would order in a new steering wheel to replace it. one month goes by there is no phone call saying they received the item 2 months goes by. my husband calls the dealership and asks if they have any information on the steering wheel. they proceed to tell us they have it in and we just need to set up a servicing date. We set up a servicing date and get an oil change while we were there and then the new service manager informs us that warranty will not cover it. Baffled by the information we requested that the service manager reach out to the warranty serviced and check again because there is no way we caused this crack and it should be covered being a brand new vehicle. this was Saturday. The service manager said that he would get back to us in 24-48 hours. I called Tuesday because I nor my husband have not received a call. The service manager was not in and we left a message. I called Wednesday and left a message on the service managers voicemail. Today is now Friday and still not a call back. I understand if they have not gotten word back from the warranty services but to just ignore your customer and leave them on the edge is unacceptable. the right thing to do would to call the customer and say " we are still waiting to hear back". this has been 6 months worth of lack of communication and disregard to the customer. They are making the customer do their job for them. Communication goes a long way and the way this company is running they are taking a long walk on a shot pier. read more

I am not sure what happen with this company, they don't assist you with anything once the car has been purchased. Iv been waiting a week to see what the company owes me for the package I purchased, they continue to make an excuse after and excuse. My sales rep is doing everything she can to help me but management seems to not really care about there customer after they have purchased a vehicle. Patty in the service department stopped communicating and didn't tell me she had our engine rebuilt, after saying we would receive a new one. (thats right, our new car needs a new engine. Then guess what, that has failed too. They have been working on FIXING my car for over 4 months (January 29th, 2021) and still have NO CLUE WHAT IS WRONG OR HOW TO FIX IT! Red Rock Hyundai was so completely negligent with us and we do not want any other innocent consumers to experience such corrupt treatment. When our Hyundai engine failed we brought our car to RRH as they are the closest Hyundai dealership to where we live. On April 12, 2019 we paid $3,995 for the used engine. The price included the following: coolant/antifreeze, service kit-oil filter, gasket - engine oil, used engine, engine oil and install kit the used engine. RRH labor and parts cost us in total, $4,161.44. Two weeks later we brought the car to a dealership in Denver to do a total inspection as we did not trust the work of RRH. Inspection revealed that RRH had neglected to put an air filter in the car leading to the new (used) engine corruption, occurring two weeks after installation. They also did not read the new engine warranty stipulations, and neglected to replace the leaking oil pan, causing the 5 year warranty on that engine to be null and void. RRH admitted fault in not adding the air filter, but are refusing reimbursement for the engine + installation. Evidence also shows that they cracked our axle while installing the engine. Red Rock Hyundai is a corrupt and negligent dealership. Please don't buy from them, and don't get your car repaired by them. It was going to cost me over $120 to have the part replaced - but Brian found a really simple and fast way to fix the clamp without replacing anything and he did it for no charge! Grand West Hyundai was our first stop when looking for a vehicle for my wife. Our salesman, Morgan, did a great job. We had scheduled a time to come in and let him know our price range and what we thought we were interested in. He had several cars waiting for us to test drive. One of those cars was the Hyundai Genesis, a car we had never heard of before. It was slightly above what we were wanting to pay. After test driving this car, my wife was sold that this is what she wanted. We decided to do our due diligence and we went to 3 other dealers to test drive other cars. None of the other dealers gave us the professionalism and respect that Grand West Hyundai did. We were very impressed. There were other cars that were newer and lower priced, but we came back to the quality and the job that Morgan did to educate and inform on on this big decision. We ended up driving away with a used Genesis and Grand West Hyundai gave us a great experience. We will definitely look at going back to them for our next vehicle. read more

I went in and test drove the vehicle I was interested in and wanted to bring my wife back in a couple days to see if she liked the vehicle. The salesman told me the price I was quoted was only good for that day and would go up $1000 if I didn't buy the vehicle right then and there. My response was to tell him if that's the way they do business I will take my business elsewhere. Things started off well with this dealership. The sales rep. searched around the area and found the perfect vehicle for me. They brought it to Grand Jct. from out of town and did their inspection. All was great, I bought the vehicle and took it home. I love it, as it is really the vehicle I've always wanted. About 2 months later I pulled my vehicle into the driveway and saw it smoking from the engine. Turns out, it has an oil leak coming from the valve cover gaskets. I called my sales rep. and she assured me they would take care of any problems. I had purchased a warranty when I purchased the vehicle, so I wasn't too concerned. I scheduled an appt. and took the vehicle back to Red Rock Hyundai. They kept it over night and confirmed that the leak was from the valve covers. This is where things turned. While talking with the service dept. The girl read off a list of things from the inspection they did before I bought the vehicle. On the list was the oil leak. She told me they "passed" on the repair! Now, I was not notified of any issues when I bought it, certainly wasn't told by my sales rep that it had ANY issues. She told me it was in perfect shape. In other words she lied. Then the service dept tells me that they won't cover any repairs per the purchase agreement AND that the warranty I PURCHASED won't cover the repair as well. On top of it all, the sales rep, who promised to help take care of the problem, will not return my calls or talk with me. They want to charge me $1500 for the repairs, $400 for the valve cover gaskets alone that I can purchase at O'Reily's for $150. They even wanted to charge me for looking at the vehicle, a service fee of $170 until I almost lost it on them. So that fee was waived. All in all, this dealership has turned out to be terrible. They act like they want to help you and that they care, but in reality they will lie about inspections, hide issues, and will not honor their warranties. Don't buy a car here! read more

I have a Kia Sorento that I have taken to the Hyundai dealership for service and was pleased with the work they did to fix my oil leak. After calling around for a few quotes for a transmission flush, I decided to call Hyundai and set up an appointment. I asked Mike what the charge was for a transmission flush and he said $400!!!! I told him that I had gotten a couple of quotes and both quotes were around $270. He quickly backtrack and stated, like he was doing me a favor, he could get me in at $279. I set up the appointment and told him I had written the quote down. I get to my appointment and the paperwork I have to sign says $420. she tells me to ignore that price because they're going to charge me $300!! I told her my story and the quote I received from Mike and she said we will honor that price. so, the price of service went from $400 to $420 to $300 to the final payment of $279. I will not be doing business with Hyundai again. Not to mention the arguing among the employees while I was there and the smoking going on where the oil was being changed! It was our first time car-buying and I wasn't that committed to buying a car from them and ASKED if the credit application would be a hard inquiry that will drop my credit score. The salesman informed that it would NOT be a hard pull, so I agreed. Had I known this was the case, I probably wouldn't have even looked at the cars to begin with. (We were forced into a tough situation with our old Sonata busted up and we were traveling from the East Coast) In retrospect, a soft pull wouldn't make sense when you're car buying. He even picked me up on a Sunday from the airport and let me keep my car until Monday to sign all papers, since it's illegal to sell cars on Sunday in Colorado. John got me a better rate on my loan than I had found and even noticed a $50 overcharge and refunded it back to me, which I would have never noticed. We were on a cross country road trip when our 2002 Hyundai accent began to make a strange sound in first gear. When the speedometer eventually broke on our way back home we decided we should assess the problem before it worsened. We were lucky enough to land in grand junction colorado and not on a back road town with little services and even luckier to find this Hyundai dealership. Seeing that we owned a Hyundai we figured it best to bring it to a dealership to run a diagnostic test to determine the origin of the noise. To our disappointment, but also expectations of our 7,000 mile road trip, we were given the diagnosis.... Transmission needed to be replaced. This was not an option for us. We ended up renting a car and salvaging the vehicle but Hyundai played a role we would never forget and treated us better than family, making the worst possible road trip situation more than bearable. They helped us immensely with the diagnostics, offered to brig our car to salvage and even drove us to the rental car across town! Upon returning for our belongings they offered us lunch!!!!! We politely declined, however, the employees from diagnostics to sales and services were outstanding through and through and it's so refreshing to be treated the way they treated us! I purchased a used vehicle here in June understanding that I was purchasing as is with no warranty. Something I never thought to check was whether or not the key worked in the door or the trunk. Apparently the ignition had been changed out and although they offered to do some of the work I was to be responsible for the cost of getting the locks changed out. Inexcusable. When it came time for the first oil change I took the vehicle to another dealership where I know not only the owner but the body shop and repair shop managers personally. It turns out the squeak was an indication that the vehicle needs nearly $2000.00 worth of repairs. I contacted the sales person who I had been told would be there to help me since the salesperson I purchased from was not longer there. He assured me that my email and been forwarded to the appropriate management. I never heard back so I sent a follow-up email letting the salesman know I had not been contacted. Nothing. The sad thing is, at the point I purchased the vehicle I was willing to buy a new vehicle. I offered them a cash price out the door for the used vehicle and told them I would keep looking if they would not take my offer. Never did I say I was going to look elsewhere and never was I offered a new vehicle even though I was holding the brochure for a brand new vehicle and looking through it while waiting.
