We got the sinigang with bangus, grilled liempo (pork belly), sisig, pork chop, and some not so crispy pata (pork knuckle). The sinigang with bangus is a tamarind soup which featured a fried milkfish. Interesting combination I had yet to have. The various pork dishes were all OK in their own right, but I did not like the sauces on the liempo or pork chop. Unfortunately, the crispy pata was not crispy. It seemed like it was marinated in adobo before being fried, which gave it good flavor but kept it soggy. There are better places to eat in Manila for this price, although the AC was nice and strong here.

With Bulalo as Digong's specialty, they need not to offer any other dishes anymore. Their menu only varies from different parts of beef and Bulalo servings. The Super Bulalo serves a complete Bulalo dish with a bone marrow and costs for only ₱200.00 (good for 4 to 5 people), while the Bulalo without the bone marrow is ₱130.00. They also have Super Mix, which only includes a small serving of beef chunks and balbakwa for ₱65.00 (good for 1 to 2 persons), Laman (beef chunks only) for ₱55.00, Pata with Laman for ₱65.00 and Balbakwa for ₱35.00. You can see this selection printed on the huge tarpaulin posted on their wall. As inviting as their prices is the steaming hot huge kalderos of Bulalo just right beside the dinning area. The smell of beef stew with its clear broth and spices is just irresistible. And the taste? Dangerously carbo loading! Extra rice, beware! There's something in their recipe that makes their Bulalo different from the usual taste that I know. Some says that they include Sibut and they use Carabeef, that's why it has a dash of asian flavor in soup and sweetness in meat. I recommend you try Digong's Bulalo whenever you're in UP. We would always go to her clinic reaaaaally early so that means I have yet to eat my breakfast. And I don't know, we always had this weird thing where we would make sure our teeth was extra clean on the way which is bonkerz because we were going there to have it cleaned. ANYWAY, after our appointment we would always go to Goodah to get something to eat and for sure, I'd always be extra hungry. Back then I only knew of that particular branch but now I'm glad to see little Goodah branches around the Metro, the one I usually go to now is the one in Edsa going to Greenhills, the one in the gasoline station because it's more convenient. Though their customer service could use some improvement, it's still the same old Goodah I know and love.

I always finish it and my plate always looks like it hasn't been used. It's that good! It's just one of the very best tapa places and what's awesome is that it's very affordable! But it promises to be as authentic as Chinese hand-pulled noodles can be. I've never been to Northern China, but I'm pretty satisfied with what I've had so far. Especially on a rainy day! To start, try their dumplings. I'd try them all: Lamb, and Pork and Chives, in both steamed and pan-fried versions. It is heaven with its accompanying black vinegar sauce. If you're lucky, they'll give you some complementary salty fish skin to pick at. And my favorite! - their Braised Beef noodles, either dry, or with soup. Properly filling, it will warm your body and your heart on a cold, wet afternoon. In my experience, they are more generous with the beef with the dry version (they set the soup aside, but serve it nonetheless). Service isn't bad. At least, I don't recall any negative experiences. Our food was always served hot, fresh, and on time, and our water glasses were always filled. So, as far away as Northern China is, if Kanzhu is as authentic as it says it is, I'm good. I take comfort in knowing that I can visit it on any given rainy day.

From ramen to laksa, Beef Noodle Soup is the kind that I like best. We just came from a day trip from a Bataan-based resort which left us tired from the heat and hungry from the traffic. I've already had my fair share of beach food like liempo and clubhouse sandwiches so I was looking for something comforting and not too heavy. My brother frequents Kanzhu for some reason so I was always curious about this place. It was time I tried it. I am not a fan of spicy food but surprisingly, the level of heat in their broth offers just the right amount of kick to complement the soup. Truth is, it it wasn't that spicy, it wouldn't be as good. Meat was soft and tender while noodles were firm to the bite. Nothing more to ask but maybe some extra soup please??

Just tonight, I dropped by their branch in Paligsahan, their old house? i guess. I took out an order for a late dinner snack. I'm fond of lumpia and for me their still the best. Even if you don't put any sweet sauce to it, its tasty and savory already. I even requested to add extra fresh garlic and cilantro for a more fragrant lumpia. I just hope they would add a bigger leaf of lettuce or atleast 2-3 pcs. if it's small. The ambience just creeps me out due to old, antique buddhas and different head busts from all around Asia. Having moved to Quezon City a few years ago, this branch of Ha Yuan is less than 5 minutes by car from my home. These days, my mom and grandma would ask for the same orders. From the outside, Ha Yuan doesn't look like much. But once you get a taste of their fresh lumpia, Maki Mi or taho, you'd understand how Ha Yuan really knows good food. Parking is a bit of a setback especially during lunch and dinner hours. I suggest you park a little further and walk your way to the restaurant. Staff members may also not be as courteous and speedy as you would like, but as I mentioned, the food is always worth it.

Pecho inasal chicken (grilled) was juicier and came with different sauces. It was actually better than the chicken barbecue which was a surprise. The other dishes Laing (Gabi leaves) and tuna kilawin (ceviche) were just ok. Service was ok. Notice that they do not know when to clear the table. We finished eating and had ordered dessert. They serve the dessert first then cleared the table which I thought was odd. Should be the other way around. It wasn't too busy and they had enough staff hanging around. This was supposed to be the higher end restaurant of Aristocrat but their service does not match with their "status". Place itself was nice. Rustic. They don't have an accessible restroom so just be aware unless there was another one somewhere else. Heard the place along Wilson might be better so may give it another go.

Overall, our experience here was so delightful and I highly suggest this place. They also have a nice function room that you can rent for events or parties at a decent rate. The owners are nice and accommodating too!
