We called excel when the issue happened, and it took them a month (and multiple phone calls) to get a person to come look at it. They came out on a Friday at 4 pm, declared our meter a fire hazard, dropped our power line, and told us that an electrician needed to repair the conduit/meter before they would restore power. I called several companies who couldn't do it (understandably) but JDP sent their on call guy. He was there for several hours completing the work, and even talked with Excel on the phone advocating for us. Our power was restored at 10 pm, in no small part due to JDPs commitment.

Because it's difficult to add recessed lighting "after the fact", they suggested a different kind of light...a kind of 'disc' light...it looks very similar to a recessed light, but isn't. They are perfect. Personally, I think they are better than a recessed light, because they are brighter!! They also added a dimmer switch to the lights. It's exactly what we wanted. They did such an amazing job...we are so happy with the work they did. Professional, friendly, and helpful service, from the consultation to the install. Roto-Rooter is all I'd ever heard of but mostly because of their commercials, not reviews. Looking at some online experiences, people were estimating $300-$400, my jaw dropped! Instead, I first called a local company who didn't give me the time of day and was very rude so I decided against them as well. (A little side note here, I can't stand when you tell someone that you just want an estimate and when they give you one, and you say, "I'm gonna call around and get some more, thank you" they go on the defensive and start bashing every other company in town. To me, that's just childish; tell me what sets you apart from other companies in the area and be dignified about it.) Ok, back on point now... I called A-1 a little past 10:00pm and the man I spoke to (I wish I remembered his name because he was great) gave me an estimate and explained what he thought might be the issue. He answered all my questions and said he could have someone out at 8:15am the next morning. I was surprised because the last place couldn't even get me in the next day. Morning came and Tyler from A-1 showed up on time, assessed the situation and within 5 minutes, was laying down drop cloth and rolling in his machine. About an hour later, he was done and now everything drains correctly. The best part, the price I was quoted, was the price I paid! I won't give specifics, but let's say it was probably a little less than half of what I would've paid with Roto-Rooter. Bottom line, a great local company that knows how to talk to customers on the phone, show up on time, and get the job done at the price that was quoted.

A simple, honest fix for my A/C during a brutal summer. But these vultures saw an opportunity to upsell me into a $11,000 furnace and A/C replacement instead.
