When in Lubbock, one must stop in Red Raider Outfitters! A free parking lot was available, it was full (held less than 20 cars). So I paid for parking in the adjacent lot at Atlas. Walking in, I was greeted by an employee offering shopping bags and an officer security guard. I knew what I was looking for, but I kept browsing just in case I found something I didn't know I needed. I had tons of employees offering to find clothes and other sizes or colors. They were all very helpful and available. I ended up with one T-shirt and one umbrella (the rain was coming down really hard that morning). The staff here was so nice. I was looking for a specific sweatshirt and they didn't have the size that I needed. They mentioned they could get another size from another store down the road for us. I told them I could get it myself and they insisted in getting it themselves. Staff was extremely nice and thoughtful. New location inside the old Varsity bookstore looks amazing, but STILL no fitting room. Why not???? I don't want to try things on in a restroom without someplace sanitary to place my clothing. Wanted to let you know how disappointing and rude your store was today. We were in town from DFW for the baseball games and the only issues we ran into over our couple day trip was your store. We walked a few stores down to The Matador and took our business there. Over $400 worth of merchandise by the way. We had no issues at our hotel, any restaurant, even at the baseball games but your store was unfriendly and unwelcoming. So we happily gave The Matador our business. This store is very pricey for what they actually sell. Also, *beware* the gift certificates purchased online CANNOT be used in the brick store for some reason. There's no warning on the website, so we did our shopping, then got to the checkout counter and were told we could only use the gift certificate to purchase (the same exact) items online. I've inquired to corporate on this, as it's a terrible policy that needs to be fixed asap. The store associates were friendly but couldn't fix the only thing we needed fixed. read more

This is my go-to place for all things TTU! Goods: Red Raider Outfitter is by far the best place for TTU gear, gifts and homegoods! I find they have the good brands and best quality. They have things from wrapping paper, xmas gear all the way to clothing, shoes and hats. Also, they have cute watches. etc. Everything here is quality, in my opinion. Prices: Yes, this is a bit pricier than some of their competitors but not necessarily for a comparable product. Quality and design is always better here. Location: Who doesn't love shopping on University and Broadway? Great location. If you are concerned with parking just go to the new location on Mac Davis and University! Love this stuff! read more

It's embarrassing that this store sells Tech merchandise and/or represents Tech in any way. Terrible customer service even when the store was empty. I have spent a lot of money in this store over the last 20 years but I will never darken their door again. Multiple t-shirts and other items had no price tags and when I asked how much certain items were the staff acted annoyed and said "about $28 dollars....I think". They were unbelievably rude as they had to look up every item to give me a price. Also, no dressing rooms to try anything on. They said, "You can try it on over whatever you have on." Very pricey, yes, but this store has one helluva selection of TTU gear. My late father attended Tech back in the 1960s so I make a point of making a run though the Red Raider Outfitter whenever I am in Lubbock. I usually wind up buying a travel mug or such to use at home or on the road. read more

I only rated 1 star because Yelp will not let you do zero. I have bought several things over the past 20 years from Red Raider outfitter and always been extremely happy until now. I am not sure if they have new ownership, but I was really disappointed with the level of service, and I dealt with the owner!!!! I am taking my son to the college world series to see Texas Tech play and I called to order $200 worth of new hats and shirts for us to wear. They made a mistake and charged my card a different amount which would have required them to run my card the next day per their limitations (information I got from my credit card company). The owner called me that their system was not the problem and it was my problem to fix. Unfortunately they didn't offer to run it the card tomorrow and ship next day or offer ANY solution really. All she did was get an ugly tone with me and tell me how if I wanted to buy from them then I needed to fix the problem (The problem they created by the way). I am disgusted a texas tech business would treat alumni or aNYONE for that matter in this way. I will be happy to spend my dollars at another place and I would suggest you do the same. I'll give this 2 stars just cause they have cute Tech stuff, customer service on the other hand is a different story. I went in tax free weekend to look for something for my son. I walk right to the baby/kid section and an employee walks by shortly after obviously eyeing me so I wouldn't steal anything. I felt very offended. Very poor customer service!!!! There is a 7 day return policy with a receipt only. The 7 day return is for exchange only, and cannot even be in-store credit for a purchase at another time. It also has to be for the exact amount or more! Even when the exchange was for a dollar less, they wouldn't give the change. I had to purchase something else (they recommended a pencil or pen - seriously???). I love the things they have in the store; however, there are too many other stores with TTU gear with good customer service. It's amazing how nice they can be when the messed up the credit card purchase but how ugly they can be on returns....exchanges. I have spent a lot of money in their stores but don't plan to shop in any of them again. read more

I picked out two long sleeve Holiday Bowl T-shirts to celebrate our win. Got a call a few day later that these were OOS in my size. This was two weeks after these appeared on their site as "new items". I sent them an Email suggesting they reorder and received a message back that the buyer was not reordering. I advise them that I was not going to spend considerable time on their site to select items and then find out they are out of stock. I never got a reply back from my second Email a real indicator they think they have the Tech market locked up and could care less about customer feedback. I had ordered a number of items from their store over the years, but no more. FYI I went to another on line Company and spent over $600 this week on Tech gear. So they may think they lost out on a $50.00 sale in fact it is now $650 and counting. I saw another poster had the same issue. My perspective that their inventory system is not r3eal time and ordering anything online you are probably wasting your time. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTIMER SERVICE AND WEBSITE!!!! I order online frequently and have never had such difficulty placing an order! Too complicated for their antiquated system if you have a billing address that's a PO Box and a shipping that's a street address!!!!!! Reluctantly, I was about to place the order over the phone and the employees were unwilling to offer or agree to when asked a shipping upgrade or shipping discount (theirs is the most expensive of ANY Texas Tech apparel online supplier) after spending almost an hour trying to place an order for a birthday gift! The only thing that gives Red Raider Outfitters even 1 star on my list is that the 2 people I spoke with over the phone were more than gracious and attempted to be helpful. However, this was a bad experience almost from the beginning. I first made my purchase in Red Raider Outfitter's online store - buying a t shirt and a sweatshirt. I got a call a few days later from a customer service rep who apologized and said that the tshirt I had ordered was out of stock and offered another option that was very similar. I accepted and went on my way. A few days later, I got a call from another representative that said my sweatshirt was ALSO out of stock and had a replacement for it. So now 100% of my order would have to be changed for out of stock items. At this point I asked if they would offer any discounts considering I was being inconvenienced. The response I get from the manager is that they will offer the sweatshirt at the same price as the one I had ordered. Wait? Isn't that what they should do anyway considering it's not my fault they are sold out? And why didn't you tell me in the first place that the new item was more expensive? All in all I cancelled my order because of the 3 strikes you're out rule: 1) were 100% out of stock on both of my items 2) refused any credit for my inconvenience - poor customer service if you ask me 3) were planning to charge me $7-$10 more for BOTH replacement items WITHOUT letting me know when they made the recommendation. read more

Received a very nice UA TT sweatshirt for Christmas from here. Unfortunately, it was too small. Went to the store on Slide to get one size larger. Not only did they refuse to exchange the exact same shirt for a size larger, all tags still attached, the cashier was one of the most rude and hateful people that I have encountered in retail. Stated I had to have the original receipt. Funny thing is last year that wasn't the case. Now I'm stuck with a sweat shirt I can't wear. Definitely will not be shopping here again. read more

This was always my go to place for new shirts while I was a student, so it was one of the first places I looked when I was ready for a new shirt for the first game of the season this year. I loved the selection they had to offer as well as the sizes. I ended up with the 2013 game day shirt and I couldn't be happier! This is gonna be a long review so just bare with me. I worked here from July to November. Red Raider Outfitter has an "employee referral program" which means that if you are an employee and you refer someone to apply and they get hired, you get $50 up front. Then, once that person has been there for 90 days, you get an additional $150. I referred a friend and she was hired. I got the money no problem. Being a college student who's not from Lubbock and having to provide for myself, a minimum wage paying job like Red Raider Outfitter was just not providing for me the way I wish it would've. I went out on a limb and applied at another place of work and was offered a job with MUCH better pay, hours, and scheduling. They gave me the job on the spot. A week after the 90 day mark, I sadly put in my two weeks at Red Raider Outfitter. Upper Management decided that I had been "planning" this all along and just wanted to take the money from them. (Lol. Not true.) So they made the decision to FIRE not only me, but my friend who I had referred! They also demanded that I bring the $150 back, which I had already used on bills. This company ended up screwing me over financially, I had to go a full two weeks without any income. The company is run by a group of snakes who cheat their employees, even ones who have been working for them as long as I've been alive. It breaks my heart that a job I loved so much ended up doing this. I will never give my money or my time to these people again. Shameful. I've been going to Red Raider Outfitter for years. The staff must enjoy their jobs because they are always so friendly and helpful. I've lived in 3 other college towns, and have never seen such a huge selection of collegiate inventory! They have thought of everything! From clothing for the entire family to items for your home, office and auto...they even have Christmas items. The best thing I like about the items from Red Raider Outfitter is the quality. It's is worth the extra few dollars for high quality. read more

Poor, poor customer service. First of all - a 7 day return policy is ridiculous - when many people live out of town who shop in Lubbock -- Red Raider fans are far and wide. Many of the items in the store are available through other venues who have better prices and a better return policy. Second, when someone does return an item within 7 days - they are scrutinized and questioned as to why they are returning the item, the receipt is evaluated by 3 different people to make sure it has not been more than 7 days -- and then - and only then - is the customer allowed to return the item. The sales staff also appear to be illogical in their ability to make a decision and provide service. If I bring a sack in to return items - yes - I want to return all the items in the bag - was asked this same question by 3 different sales staff. Customer service training is needed. Do not plan to go through this irritation again. read more
