Mountain BBQ Nachos

I've been coming here since I was 5 and I've never been disappointed. The decor hasn't changed and I'm happy about that. It's comfortable and the previous owner and the owner now we're and are amazing. The staff is always really sweet and helpful. The bbq is always so moist and delicious. Don't even get me started on the tea!! No matter where I move I will always come back to eat here when I am in town. Thank you for always be amazing!

I had the ribs pulled pork baked beans mac & cheese. The ribs were delicious. Pulled pork was good not dry really creamy mac & cheese. Baked beans just kind of playing a little barbecue sauce. Tim is much better. That way. I will definitely go back.

I had the BBQ nachos. The BBQ pork and the sauce on the side was great, but the stale chips led to disappointment.

Yes. The food was delicious. The service impeccable and really nice ambiance made this a TEN star…read moreexperience. Oh! But I can only assign five stars.... So I shall! We ordered ribs with reasonably priced "add ons" of brisket and chicken breast. We're glad we did, because ALL of it was tasty and AMAZING! We ordered broccoli salad, Cole slaw and potato salad - ALL WERE FANTASTIC! They make their own sauce and it is GREAT! For me, it started with a bit of a tangy vinegar bite and moved quickly into a wonderful sweetness that I LOVE in bbq sauces. This is one of my favs, now. It isn't thick and cloyingly gooey...a nice medium weight sauce, which whispers rather than shouts. Really, it's sublime. The ribs were AWESOME. Tender and done just right. The chicken breast was surprisingly tender and juicy - melt-in-your-mouth juicy, in fact! It was the brisket, though, which sent my taste buds soaring. The brisket had a perfect texture - pliable and yet so tender I felt as if I discovered a little bit of heaven in that first bite! The slices are thinly cut, but with the perfect amount of thickness, for me. Not too thin. Not too thick, which often ruins brisket, for me. The subtlety was not lost on me. I love to cook and each component of a dish adds or detracts something! This was SUBLIME. The smoke level was perfect. And, oh, SO yummy! BTW, we were greeted as we entered and the vibe (energy) of this restaurant was palpable: these folks LOVE WHAT THEY DO. What a nice change from many restaurants we eat at, where the employees don't seem to actually WANT to work! Our sever, Tyler, couldn't have been a better fit for us. Attentive, punctual, thoughtful and simply perfect! Back to the FOOD.... We ordered broccoli salad. I make my own broccoli salad, which is darned good if I do say so myself- this was better. They thoughtfully chop the broccoli and add a variety of other ingredients, which lifts this recipe into the 'sublime' category. The coleslaw was also a strong contender for us - not too sweet or vinegary. It was very good. The potato salad was awesome, as well and we appreciated the fact that we could choose from a decent list of 'sides'. Not everyone wants fries... The Tennessee toast was their version of Texas Toast and provided the perfect carb to soak up that tasty sauce. This is a family restaurant. They've been in business for decades and it was started, I believe the menu 'backstory' said by a college kid trying to earn money and pay for college: it's become a legend in these parts. We drive well over an hour to try it. We will return, for certain. We order a smoked turkey sandwich to go ( for lunch today!) and a brisket dinner. We can hardly wait to eat this incredibly delicious food, again. This restaurant is the perfect example of the Serendipity of Life. A young man, willing to work for what he envisioned ( a college degree) and who went on to think about and develop a perfect platform, where his earned success now adds value to the lives of his plus or minus 60 employees! Now, that's what I call a Screamin' ' Success! He (Tom) came by our table for chat, which for us, was the proverbial 'icing' on our cake! Thank you to all of the employees, who made our supper the best bbq experience we've had in many a year! Well-done, all of you!

Overall, Firehouse was a fun spot for a family lunch. The experience, atmosphere, service, and value were all positives, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the brisket in particular. That said, the food was still good and I'd recommend a visit.

We were greeted at the door and immediately sat at a table. Our server was great! Cool and funky environment! I had the grilled veggie sandwich. Yum yum yum!! Full of grilled veggies and a great pesto sauce. The homemade chips were excellent and not over salted. My husband got the sun-dried tomato veggie burger with a side of avocado and chips. He loved it! Definitely coming back!

The outdoor area can be loud due to its close proximity to the busy street. Not really much of a view; just the parking area and passing cars. Plenty of parking in front and to the side. They do have an inside dining area, but the host didn't give us that option. Our waitress was nice but wasn't very knowledgeable about the food; I asked her if the shrimp poboy came on hard or soft bread. She said soft so I ordered that. It was toasted to the point of being rock hard; actually cut my lip on it. Otherwise the poboy was pretty good, just hard to eat. The wife enjoyed her burger, but it wasn't anything special. And neither of us cared much for their side of chips; it's clearly their attempt to be different by not serving the usual French fries. But in our opinions, it's a fail. They were neither a tasty potato chip nor a fry, but something in between, that even ketchup couldn't make tasty. Interesting place to visit once, but I doubt we'll be back.
