First all the ambiance was worth the price of admission. Beautiful and very relaxing.. Our server was ouststanding in every way. We were lucky to be with our family style friends since menu was pretty diverse with Asian cuisines. Possibly best sushi we ever had. String beans with seafood was outstanding. The vegetable pancake delicious and light as a feather with a GREAT dipping sauce. Was told the entree Won Ton Soup was very good. Only one having a drink and the Makers Mark rocks was a solid pour. I'm happy to say the price to value ratio was spot on. The quality of the food in that venue in PBG was extremely fair for these times. I went Saturday night, ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. I took one bite and could barely speak for 15 minutes due to the overwhelming abundance of Szechuan peppers. Server made herself scarce so I couldn't get my water glass filled to calm the reaction. Sure, it was marked as a spicy dish on the menu, but I picked a huge mountain of peppers from the dish (about 4 dozen)and piled them on the adjoining plate. Unacceptable. Also the chicken was undercooked. Sent it all back with some stern words for the chef. Service was ultra slow. Friends of ours at the next table never got their food, so they left after asking for the manager multiple times. In this ultra competitive restaurant market with so many good alternatives and quality is king, they better make some drastic corrections quickly or close down. Stay.Away. read more

We were invited to the grand opening of a stunning new waterfront restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens--and it did not disappoint. The setting alone is breathtaking, but the food truly stole the show. As someone who is highly allergic to MSG, I was especially impressed that when I asked, I was assured that no artificial ingredients are used to enhance flavor. That gave me the freedom to enjoy a wide variety of dishes across the menu--and every single bite was exceptional. I keep seeing this pop up on my social media feed so my friend and I stopped by to check it out. The decor was really pretty, fairly large space, they offer valet as parking can be limited. Large bar both indoor and outdoor seating. At first we weren't aware of the outdoor patio seating so the hostess guided us and got us seated. Ordered a cosmo off happy hour menu that was okay more pink in color and on the sweeter side. Not what i am used to and my friend had a beer which she enjoyed. We ordered couple rolls that was very fresh and also the tuna delight, which was absolutely delicious and not typically something I would order as I can't do the texture of tuna. However, taste & freshness was 10/10! The peking duck was cooked nice and crispy the way i like it. The food did not disappoint. The beef skewers had good flavor but a bit on chewy side. Overall, great ambience and will definitely be back to probably try dinner and another happy hour. read more

Had lunch here last month, with no expectations. Fortunately I was pleasantly surprised . Ordered both the Mongolian beef and king pao chicken. Food was authentic and very flavorful. And thought, Will be back for sure. Also thought it was better the other upscale Chinese restaurant, blackbird. However, I came back today and the food was so bland. I sent it back and asked for more seasoning spices to be added. but didn't really change the flavor. I know this place has potential to be really good but quality control might be lacking. read more

Last night, I brought my family to the restaurant. First of all, congratulations on the grand opening of your restaurant! As soon as we walked in, we could immediately feel the rich Chinese cultural atmosphere. The interior design is truly unique, elegant, and full of character. From the displays of ancient imperial costumes, the pipa and guzheng elements, and the Chinese painting-style ceiling decorations, to the maple and cherry blossom trees and the welcoming pine trees, the entire space feels both classy and grand -- almost like stepping into a beautiful traditional Chinese painting. My whole family absolutely loved it. And the food was excellent as well -- beautiful presentation, amazing flavors, and everything was delicious. Husband ordered coke, server comes back and plunks a drink down and says "it's Pepsi hope that's ok." The apps and meals came out all together even tho we specified we wanted the apps first. When we questioned it we were told "it's because we serve family style". Honey....not sure what kinda family you come from but that's not what family style means. One of the dishes wasn't what we ordered. One of the dishes came out cold. Manager apologized and dish went back. When tge correct dish came out it's a good thing I cut into it first because the chicken inside was raw. All of it. Not just a little. At that point I lost my appetite. Won't go back. We came here on a whim one Saturday afternoon since we had seen it was opening and when we came in, it was the last day of their soft opening! We sat the bar and was greeted right away by Michael (I believe his name was and I'm so sorry if that's not right, because he was really great!). Since it was still in soft opening operations, there were a few things that still needed to be put up, but obviously understandable. The overall look and feel of the restaurant was nicely done and nice views of the water behind the bar. For drinks, we were recommended the lychee raspberry martini and the spicy margarita. Both were very good! We were just coming here for a few drinks before we headed out to a birthday dinner, but we just had to try some of the apps per the recommendation of our bartender! We got the Black Truffle Chicken Siu Mai, Sichuan Pork Dumplings and Matcha Shrimp Balls! WOW - the Sichuan Pork Dumplings were probably some of the best apps I've had, I wanted to order more!!! The Shrimp balls were amazing too! Not what I expected (they're not in ball form) but super delicious. The Black Truffle Siu Mai was okay - the flavor was good but the texture overall was meh. The bartender did bring up the change of texture from the other apps we ordered so we were a bit prepared. We can't wait to come back here!!!!! read more

We went to Red Phoenix tonight for the first time, and it was phenomenal. This is coming from someone who lived in China for three years and has experienced authentic Chinese cuisine firsthand. We ordered the half duck, and it was absolutely outstanding. The skin was perfectly crispy while the meat remained juicy and flavorful. The Szechuan spicy dumplings were delectable--definitely enough heat to make your throat tingle, but completely worth it for the incredible flavor. They were also kind enough to make us a no-rice sushi roll, which we really appreciated. We prefer not to eat rice with sushi, and it was both delicious and beautifully prepared. The pork belly was another highlight--rich, tender, and absolutely delightful. Beyond the food, the owner is charming and welcoming. The restaurant is owned and operated by people from China, which adds to the authenticity of the experience. The atmosphere is beautiful, there's a lovely harbor view, and they offer happy hour specials as well. I would absolutely recommend giving Red Phoenix a try. You won't regret it. read more

My wife and I came down from North Mississippi and honestly just stumbled into Red Phoenix after another restaurant nearby only accepted reservations. And let me tell you -- what a blessing that turned out to be. Everything we ordered was absolutely incredible. The chilled sweet and sour pork was fresh and perfectly balanced. JB's roll was outstanding. The seafood spring rolls were light and packed with flavor. The fried rice with beef and shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the pork dumplings were phenomenal. What impressed us even more was that the place was busy -- and I mean busy -- yet the service never skipped a beat. They were attentive, quick, and on top of everything the entire time. I don't write reviews very often, but this place absolutely deserves one. If you're anywhere near West Palm / Palm Beach Gardens, don't miss it. We will definitely be back. read more

Ignore the good reviews. They're all people who eat trash Chinese food and so anything even slightly better is perceived as good. The service was slow, the food comes out slow, servers ignore you, no one asks "how was everything" and the food is 3x the price of Chinese takeout for maybe 1.2x the quality. Just go to the many other legit Asian restaurants in the area and SKIP THIS PLACE! If you don't believe me, look on OpenTable. Those are the real, honest reviews, as you must of had a reservation to leave the review. Plus, people who use apps like OpenTable typically have real dining standards. Our server was v nice but super duper slow w everything. Took 2.5h for four of us to eat dinner and our food came out at all different times. My kung pao shrimp was not spicy at all and way too sweet, the wonton soup was just ok but the wonton itself had a funk to it maybe the pork was outdated in the wonton filling? Everything food wise that we got was about same as u would get at any local south Florida Chinese hole in wall place only marked up a bit in price. A pleasant surprise! First time at Red Phoenix. Quickly seated with drink orders placed shortly afterwards. Our server was pleasant assisting us with menu questions. Highly recommend classic chicken and broccoli (with added shrimp), and the Singapore noodles. Both were perfectly spiced and sauced. Can't wait to return! read more

The food is average at best, but the prices are extremely high -- not worth it. The service was terrible and the room was very noisy. We didn't get any water until about 15 minutes after being seated. We ordered a bottle of wine, but the waitress didn't even pour it for us. And after ordering, we waited about 45 minutes before any food arrived. The Peking Duck was okay but not great -- the skin wasn't as crispy as it should be. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

This is a new restaurant. Beautiful ambience. Went on a Monday night so it was very quiet. Our waiter Michael couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. A friend had suggested a seafood roll appetizer, which had large chunks of delicious shrimp inside. The spare ribs came out on their own little hibachi to keep them warm. They were meaty and delicious. The sauce on top was a tad too sweet, but somehow I managed to eat 4 of the 6. The tuna and salmon rolls were just OK, but the spicy tuna roll was very good. My husband enjoyed the wonton soup that had a very light broth and some bok choy and the seaweed salad that included slices of cucumber and lemon. Very fresh. We would go back again. read more

I understand this was a soft opening, However, our experience tonight was pretty disappointing. The restaurant was not busy while we were there. One of our plates was brought out wrong at first. The chicken came out about 45-50 minutes after ordering, and the vegetables didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later after the chicken, so our meals weren't served together. I was asked if I wanted white rice or egg fried rice and chose the egg fried rice, which came with an upcharge. When it came out we could hardly find any egg in it and didn't have that nice fried rice flavor. You could tell the FOH staff was frustrated because the kitchen was struggling. They felt very bad at the situation so we very much understood. The biggest issue and why I felt the need to even write a review was finding a hair in my rice after taking two bites. I let the server know immediately and didn't eat the rest of it. When the bill came, we were still charged for the rice. You couldn't comp us $3 after all of that? I understand mistakes happen, especially during a soft opening, but it would have been a nice gesture to at least remove the rice from the bill. I'll visit again once they've been open for a while because I believe this could be a great spot once they've figure things out. read more

They just opened about 2 weeks ago. We tried to get in without knowing it was their opening night so it was mobbed. Went today at 430 for HH and it was pretty empty. We ordered from their HH menu and it was all delicious. And the HH vodka is Tito at buy one get one free. The bartender Tiffany was a pleasure. We decided to try this restaurant on a rainy day just before the grand opening. We took advantage of the early happy hour menu, which, we initially were disappointed to learn, was only available at the bar. We got this bad news after we were so impressed with the dining room's classy modern decor, white tree props and intimately arranged red table-clothed tables. However, upon taking our seats at the bar, we can only offer compliments to the designer of this restaurant! Windows lining the entire length of the bar treated patrons to a dazzling marina view that even a cloudy day couldn't ruin! Those sitting outdoors shared the great view but fortunately, didn't block ours. We sampled hot saki, served in an upscale bowl filled with hot water and an appetizer--lightly breaded squid with not-too-spicy Thai chili sauce on the side. My husband and I absolutely loved both! We also shared Mongolian beef, which to our surprise, came too spicy for us to eat. But the staff immediately took it back to the kitchen and graciously remade it without the hot spice. The only downside is we could find no small dessert options--only large portions that apparently were meant to be shared. We hope to return and try other menu items. read more
