He started it right away: that's extra outstanding customer service! The freshly baked pizza was so good. We had Italian meats pizza. I am not a huge fan of pizzas, yet it was so fresh I ate 3 slices! The dough did not feel thick, also felt like fresh bread at the crust part. Will come back and try the other pizzas! This was located in City Walk, so you do not need a Universal Studios Ticket to get here. Just park your car, take a uber/lyft, or a shuttle. It was also nice to walk around city walk. This was something I like about Universal Florida vs. Disney Florida: less confusing parking situation. Everything was so well marked. Security also went really quickly. I would give 5 stars for Red Oven Pizza Bakery. It's a pizza restaurant in Universal Citywalk and it is pretty good! They were very accommodating to serving us right before closing after a late night at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. We tried the Mushroom Pizza and the Stagione Pizza - both delicious and decent portion sizes. Imagine Mod/Blaze Pizza but bigger sizes than those. We came here one late evening for pizzas. There was a short queue, but it moved quickly. The staff were calm, great at crowd control, and professional. The dining was casual. They have their special pizza posted by the cashier. (I wish that was posted on the menu so I wouldn't feel pressure if I needed to switch my order.) On the Universal app, you can order via mobile. I did not learn about this until later. The app only works if you are on premise. One other night, I wish we could order ahead of time, because we were at Epic Universe taking the shuttle to Citywalk. It was getting late and I was hoping I could place a pickup order. The app said that I was "too far" and need to be on premise. But the night we did dine-in, we ordered the Italian Meat, which was delicious and simple. After visiting Universal's Islands of Adventure, my mom and I decided to stop by Red Oven Pizza Bakery for a late lunch before leaving City Walk. We stopped in around 2:00 P.M. on a Friday afternoon. There weren't many customers at the restaurant. It was also a perfect day to eat outside since it was mid-80s with a nice breeze! Ordering from the restaurant was interesting. You pick out the table, and then scan the QR code. The QR code will then populate the Red Oven Pizza Bakery menu from the Universal Studio's mobile application. From there, you can place your order and then provide a table # for the order. My mom and I ended up splitting a cheese pizza from Red Oven Pizza Bakery. I didn't see an option to add a cup of water to the order. I did add a Sprite though. When the team member came over to deliver the sprite, we were informed we would have to go to the registers and ask the other team members inside the restaurant to get a cup of water. I'm not sure if I missed it through the virtual ordering on the mobile application, but I couldn't locate a way to add a cup of water. After we got the cup of water, the cheese pizza shortly came out. The pizza lacked a lot of flavor. I didn't get much flavor from the marinara sauce. There was plenty of cheese on the pizza though. If I stopped by Red Oven Pizza bakery again, I would try a different pizza out, perhaps their pepperoni one. After a full day of riding rides and exploring both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure theme parks from early open to well past close we were FAMISHED. As we were heading out of the park around 9 pm on a Monday towards the CityWalk in search of food, we were struggling to find a spot that didn't have a wait to be seated for our party of 8 (we would ask places for 2 tables of 4, but no dice there either) until we got to Red Oven Pizza Bakery. Honestly, we weren't picky and pizza is always a good idea, so we immediately sat down on their open air patio and got to ordering. Thankfully Red Oven was one of the spots that you could order on the mobile app, which is what we did! We placed the order without needing to stand in line and rested our weary feet as our food was prepared. It didn't take long for our food to be ready, I would say around 10-15 minutes and then we were chowing down. Given that we were all starving, the food tasted spectacular. It's not the best pizza I ever had, but it was good enough and really hit the spot at the end of this wonderfully fun, but exhaustingly long day. They only have one size for their pizzas, which gets divided up into 6 slices. Most people were able to polish off their whole pizzas. I believe I took 2 of my slices to go. We get the pepperoni pizza or sometimes add mushrooms or sometimes sausage. The toppings are delicious. We love this pizza so much. It's always consistently delicious. It's a 12" pie cut into 6 slices. I eat it slowly so it lasts longer. The crust is the best. It's never bad. I usually don't eat the crust but at Red Oven we both eat everything on the tray. The sauce is also yum! The cheese completes it! Overall this pizza is a 10/10. We order one every time we visit Universal Studios. I think when you take into consideration all the food places on City Walk and in both parks, you get a great return on your investment at Red Oven Pizza Bakery. To be fair, we ordered from Rising Star as this is one of the food venues which brings food over (great idea, BTW). The Margherita pie was done ok, but it should be more than some basil thrown on a cheese pizza. The sauce was actually pretty good, as was the fresh (I think) mozzarella that had decent, but not great coverage (there was a lot of crust). The crust was crispy and chewy even after the trek through the rain to our table. Honestly, the rainy evening was the only reason I didn't venture out to somewhere else to get food. Wow! The pizza here is delicious and made with great quality. If you're familiar with other single entree pizza joints, once you bite into the crust, you can immediately tell what good quality you're eating just by tasting the crust! So good! A bit confusing at first, you can ONLY mobile order through the Universal app, so that means having a charge card in the app. That's "ok" but it didn't want to work with me so be sure to have another friend order on their phone for backup. It is a bit pricey but it's worth it in my opinion. Becca, and older lady, was our "waitress" and helped us throughout the whole thing. You can chose wherever to sit (if no line) and she brought us complimentary water, plates and utensils. She even asked if we were doing ok with ordering on the app. We got the food roughly 15 mins after placing the order. The wait was worth it. Very delicious and good. I love this place! We first came here around four years ago, and I was craving it ever since. For a "theme park" pizza restaurant, this place serves quality pizza at affordable prices. The seating is outside and offers cover from the heat. Due to covid, you must either use the posted menus, or the QR code on your phone. You may mobile order and have it delivered to the table, or order through the wait staff. You may also get a carry-out order, there is a specific window for to-go service. The pizzas appear to be personal pizza size, but the actual portion sizes are fairly generous. There are four of us. We ordered three pizzas to share, and ended up with a large pizza box of leftovers. This was great for us, since we stayed on property at a resort and had a fridge. Two pizzas would probably be enough for four people. This time we had the plain cheese pizza, the spinach pizza, and the pesto ricotta pizza. They were all delicious. The crust is nice and chewy, I recommend getting a side of olive oil and Parmesan cheese for dipping. We were here during Spring Break when the parks were filled to capacity and so were the restaurants, but this place was fast and easy to get into. They text you when your table is ready, and the wait was not as long as the other places. This is definitely a place to come at least once a visit, and we hope to be back real soon. read more
